1 Pero después que murió Ehud, los hijos de Israel volvieron a hacer lo malo delante de Yavé.
And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of Yhwh, when Ehud was dead.
2 Yavé los entregó en mano de Jabín, rey de Canaán, quien reinaba en Hazor. El comandante de su ejército era Sísara, quien vivía en Haroset-goim.
And Yhwh sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose army was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.
3 Entonces los hijos de Israel clamaron a Yavé, porque aquél tenía 900 carruajes de hierro. Durante 20 años oprimió con crueldad a los hijos de Israel.
And the children of Israel cried unto Yhwh: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.
4 En ese tiempo Débora, una profetisa, esposa de Lapidot, juzgaba en Israel.
And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
5 Acostumbraba sentarse bajo la palmera de Débora, entre Ramá y Bet-ʼEl, en la región montañosa de Efraín, y los hijos de Israel acudían a ella para que los juzgara.
And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Beth–el in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
6 Ella mandó a llamar a Barac, hijo de Abinoam, de Cedes-neftalí, y le dijo: Mira, Yavé, el ʼElohim de Israel, mandó: Vé y marcha hacia la montaña Tabor. Toma contigo 10.000 hombres de los hijos de Neftalí y de los de Zabulón.
And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh–naphtali, and said unto him, Hath not Yhwh God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?
7 Yo atraeré a Sísara, jefe del ejército de Jabín, con sus carruajes y su multitud al arroyo de Cisón y lo entregaré en tu mano.
And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.
8 Entonces Barac le respondió: Si tú vas conmigo, yo iré. Pero no iré si tú no vas conmigo.
And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.
9 Y ella contestó: Ciertamente iré contigo, pero la gloria de la jornada que emprendes no será tuya, porque Yavé entregará a Sísara en las manos de una mujer. Débora se levantó y fue con Barac a Cedes.
And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for Yhwh shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.
10 Barac convocó a Zabulón y a Neftalí en Cedes, y subió con 10.000 hombres que siguieron sus pasos. Débora subió con él.
And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.
11 Ahora bien, Heber, el ceneo, se había separado de los ceneos descendientes de Hobab, suegro de Moisés, y desplegó sus tiendas hasta el robledal de Zanaim, que está junto a Cedes.
Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.
12 Se le informó a Sísara que Barac, hijo de Abinoam, subió a la montaña Tabor.
And they shewed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.
13 Sísara reunió todos sus carruajes, 900 carruajes de hierro, y a todo el pueblo que estaba con él, desde Haroset-goim hasta el arroyo de Cisón.
And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon.
14 Entonces Débora dijo a Barac: ¡Levántate, porque este es el día cuando Yavé entregó a Sísara en tu mano! ¿No salió Yavé delante de ti? Y Barac bajó de la montaña Tabor con 10.000 hombres detrás de él.
And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which Yhwh hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not Yhwh gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
15 Yavé destrozó a Sísara con todos sus carruajes y todo su ejército a filo de espada delante de Barac. Y Sísara, después de bajarse del carruaje, huyó a pie.
And Yhwh discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his army, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.
16 Pero Barac persiguió los carruajes y al ejército hasta Haroset-goim. Todo el ejército de Sísara cayó a filo de espada hasta no quedar ni uno.
But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the army, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the army of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.
17 Sísara huyó a pie hasta la tienda de Jael, esposa de Heber ceneo, porque había paz entre Jabín, rey de Hazor, y la casa de Heber ceneo.
Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.
18 Jael salió al encuentro de Sísara y le dijo: ¡Entra, ʼadón mío, entra aquí, no temas! Entonces él entró en la tienda de ella, y ella lo cubrió con una manta.
And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle.
19 Y él le dijo: Dame, te ruego, un poco de agua porque tengo sed. Ella entonces abrió un odre de leche, le dio de beber y lo volvió a cubrir.
And he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.
20 Y él le dijo: Quédate en la entrada de la tienda. Si alguno viene y te pregunta: ¿Hay alguien aquí? Tú le responderás que no.
Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and enquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No.
21 Pero Jael, esposa de Heber, tomó una estaca de la tienda y tomó un mazo, fue calladamente hacia él. Le clavó la estaca en la sien, la cual penetró hasta la tierra, pues él estaba cansado y dormía profundamente. Y así murió.
Then Jael Heber’s wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.
22 Ciertamente ahí venía Barac y perseguía a Sísara. Jael salió a recibirlo y le dijo: Ven, te mostraré al hombre que buscas. Y él entró con ella, y ahí estaba Sísara muerto con la estaca en la sien.
And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will shew thee the man whom thou seekest. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples.
23 Así ʼElohim sometió aquel día a Jabín, rey de Canaán, ante los hijos de Israel.
So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.
24 La mano de los hijos de Israel presionó más y más pesadamente contra Jabín, rey de Canaán, hasta que acabaron de destruirlo.
And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.
