1 Hubo también un hombre de la región montañosa de Efraín llamado Micaía,
And there was a man of the mountain of Ephraim, whose name was Michayhu.
2 quien le dijo a su madre: Los 12,1 kilogramos de plata que te fueron robados, con respecto a los cuales pronunciaste maldición a mis oídos, mira, aquella plata está en mi poder. Yo la tomé. Y su madre le dijo: ¡Bendito seas por Yavé, hijo mío!
And he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from thee, about which thou cursedst, and spokest of also in my ears, —behold, the silver is with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed be my son unto the Lord.
3 Él devolvió los 12,1 kilogramos de plata a su madre, y ella dijo: En verdad dedico esta plata a Yavé para mi hijo, a fin de que haga una imagen tallada y otra de fundición. Ahora pues, te la devuelvo.
And he restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother; and his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the Lord from my hand, for my son, to make a graven and molten image; and now I will give it back unto thee.
4 Sin embargo, él devolvió la plata a su madre. Ella tomó 2,2 kilogramos de plata, los entregó al fundidor, el cual hizo con ellos una imagen tallada y otra de fundición, las cuales quedaron en la casa de Micaía.
Yet he gave the money back unto his mother; and his mother took two hundred shekels of silver, and gave them to the silversmith, who made thereof a graven and molten image; and it was in the house of Micah.
5 De manera que Micaía tuvo un santuario. Hizo un efod e ídolos domésticos y consagró a uno de sus hijos para que fuera su sacerdote.
And the man Micah had a house of god, and he made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.
6 En aquellos días no había rey en Israel, y cada uno hacía lo que le parecía recto.
In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did what seemed right in his own eyes.
7 Hubo también un joven de Belén de Judá, de la familia de Judá, el cual era levita, y vivía allí como forastero.
And there was a young man out of Beth-lechem-judah of the family of Judah, but he was a Levite, and sojourned there.
8 Este hombre salió de la ciudad de Belén de Judá para residir donde hallara lugar. Cuando caminaba por la región montañosa de Efraín llegó hasta la casa de Micaía.
And the man departed from the city, from Beth-lechem-judah, to sojourn where he could find [a place]; and he came to the mountain of Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he was pursuing his journey.
9 Micaía le dijo: ¿De dónde vienes? Y le respondió: Soy levita de Belén de Judá, y voy a residir donde halle lugar.
And Micah said unto him, Whence comest thou? And he said unto him, I am a Levite from Beth-lechem-judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find [a place].
10 Micaía le dijo: Quédate conmigo. Me servirás de padre y sacerdote, y te daré 1,1 kilogramos de plata por año, tu ropa y tu comida. Y el levita se quedó.
And Micah said unto him, Remain with me, and become unto me a father and a priest, and I will give thee ten shekels of silver for the year, and suitable apparel, and thy victuals. And the Levite went in.
11 El levita convino en vivir con aquel hombre, y el joven fue para él como uno de sus hijos.
And the Levite consented to dwell with the man; and the young man was unto him as one of his sons.
12 Micaía consagró al levita, y el joven fue su sacerdote y vivía en casa de Micaía.
And Micah consecrated the Levite; and the young man became his priest, and remained in the house of Micah.
13 Y Micaía dijo: ¡Ahora sé que Yavé me prosperará porque tengo a un levita como sacerdote!
Then said Micah, Now I know that the Lord will do me good, seeing I have obtained a Levite for priest.
