Josué 23
1 Después de muchos días, cuando Yavé dio reposo a Israel de todos sus enemigos alrededor, y Josué era anciano y bien entrado en años,
Forsothe whanne myche tyme was passid after that the Lord had youe pees to Israel, for alle naciouns `in cumpas weren suget; and whanne Josue was thanne of long lijf, and `of ful eld age, Josue clepide al Israel,
2 aconteció que Josué convocó a todo Israel, sus ancianos y sus jefes, sus jueces y sus oficiales, y les dijo: Yo envejecí y estoy entrado en años.
and the grettere men in birthe, and the princes, and dukis, and maistris, and seide to hem, Y `wexide elde, and Y am of grettere age;
3 Ustedes vieron todo lo que Yavé su ʼElohim, hizo a todas estas naciones por causa de ustedes, pues Yavé su ʼElohim guerreó por ustedes.
and ye seen alle thingis whiche youre Lord God hath do to alle naciouns `bi cumpas, hou he fauyt for you.
4 Ciertamente les repartí por suertes esas naciones que aún quedan, en herencia para sus tribus, desde el Jordán, y todos los pueblos que destruí hasta el mar Grande, donde se oculta el sol.
And now for he departide to you bi lot al the lond, fro the eest part of Jordan `til to the grete see, and many naciouns ben left yit,
5 Yavé su ʼElohim, las echará de delante de ustedes, y las desposeerá delante de su presencia. Ustedes poseerán sus tierras, como les habló Yavé su ʼElohim.
youre Lord God `schal distrie hem, and schal take awei fro youre face; and ye schulen welde the lond, as he bihiyte to you.
6 Por tanto, esfuércense mucho en guardar y hacer todo lo que está escrito en el Rollo de la Ley de Moisés para que no se aparten de él ni a la derecha ni a la izquierda.
Oneli be ye coumfortid, and be ye bisy, that ye kepe alle thingis that ben writun in the book of Moises lawe, and bowe not awei fro tho, nether to the riyt side nether to the left side,
7 No se mezclen con estas naciones que quedaron con ustedes. No mencionen el nombre de sus ʼelohim, ni juren por ellos, ni les sirvan, ni se postren ante ellos.
lest aftir that ye han entrid to the hethene men, that schulen be among you, ye swere in the name of `the goddis of hem, and ye serue tho goddis, and worschipe hem.
8 Se aferrarán a Yavé su ʼElohim, como hicieron hasta hoy,
But cleue ye to youre Lord God, which thing ye han do `til in to this dai;
9 porque Yavé echó de delante de ustedes a naciones grandes y fuertes, y nadie les pudo hacer frente hasta hoy.
and thanne the Lord God schal do awei in youre siyt grete folkis, and strongeste; and noon schal mow ayenstonde you.
10 Un varón de ustedes persigue a 1.000, porque Yavé su ʼElohim, pelea por ustedes, como Él dijo.
Oon of you schal pursue a thousynde men of enemyes, for youre Lord God schal fiyte for you, as he bihiyte.
11 Por tanto, cuídense con diligencia de amar a Yavé su ʼElohim.
Be ye war bifore moost diligentli of this thing oneli, that ye loue youre Lord God.
12 Porque si de cualquier manera se apartan y se apegan al resto de estas naciones que quedó entre ustedes, y si contraen con ellas matrimonio, y se mezclan con ellas, y ellas con ustedes,
That if ye wolen cleue to the errouris of these folkis that dwellen among you, and wolen medle mariagis with hem, and couple frenschipis,
13 sepan con certeza que Yavé su ʼElohim no volverá más a desposeer a estas naciones de delante de ustedes. Les serán como lazo y trampa, como azotes en sus costados y espinas en sus ojos, hasta que perezcan en esta buena tierra que Yavé su ʼElohim les dio.
wite ye riyt now, that `youre Lord God schal not do awei hem bifor youre face, but thei schulen be to you in to a dich, and a snare, and in to hirtyng of youre side, and in to stakis in youre iyen, til youre Lord God take awei you, and distrie fro this beste loond, which he yaf to you.
14 Mira, hoy yo voy por el camino de toda la tierra. Reconozcan, pues, con todo su corazón y toda su alma, que no cayó ni una palabra de todas las buenas cosas que Yavé su ʼElohim habló acerca de ustedes. Todas ellas les fueron cumplidas sin caer una de ellas.
Lo! Y entre to dai in to the weye of al erthe; and ye schulen knowe `with al soule, that of al wordis whiche the Lord bihiyte hym silf to yyue to you, not oon passide in veyn.
15 Pero sucederá que tal como se cumplió en ustedes toda palabra buena que Yavé su ʼElohim les habló, así también Yavé traerá sobre ustedes toda palabra mala, hasta que los destruya de sobre esta buena tierra que Yavé su ʼElohim les dio.
Therfor as he fillide in werk that, that he bihiyte, and alle thingis bifelden `bi prosperite, so he schal brynge on you whateuer thing of yuelis he manaasside, til he take awei you, and distrie fro this beste lond, which he yaf to you.
16 Si traspasan el Pacto que Yavé su ʼElohim les ordenó, sirven a otros ʼelohim y se postran ante ellos, entonces la ira de Yavé arderá contra ustedes, y pronto perecerán de sobre esta buena tierra que les dio.
For ye braken the couenaunt of `youre Lord God, which he made with you, and serueden alien goddis, and worschipeden hem, sone and swiftli the strong veniaunce of the Lord schal rise `on to you; and ye schulen be takun awei fro this beste lond, which he yaf to you.
