Josué 1
1 Después de la muerte de Moisés, esclavo de Yavé, aconteció que Yavé habló a Josué, hijo de Nun, ministro de Moisés:
Nowe after the death of Moses the seruant of the Lord, the Lord spake vnto Ioshua the sonne of Nun, Moses minister, saying,
2 Mi esclavo Moisés murió. Levántate, pues, ahora. Cruza este Jordán, tú y todo este pueblo, a la tierra que doy a los hijos de Israel.
Moses my seruant is dead: nowe therefore arise, go ouer this Iorden, thou, and all this people, vnto the lande which I giue them, that is, to ye children of Israel.
3 Como dije a Moisés, les entregaré todo lugar que pise la planta del pie de ustedes.
Euery place that the sole of your foote shall treade vpon, haue I giuen you, as I said vnto Moses.
4 Desde el desierto y este Líbano hasta el gran río Éufrates, toda la tierra de los heteos hasta el mar Grande, hacia la puesta del sol, será el territorio de ustedes.
From the wildernesse and this Lebanon euen vnto the great riuer, the riuer Perath: all the land of the Hittites, euen vnto the great Sea towarde the going downe of the sunne, shalbe your coast.
5 Nadie te podrá hacer frente en todos los días de tu vida. Como estuve con Moisés, estaré contigo. No te dejaré ni te desampararé.
There shall not a man be able to withstande thee all the dayes of thy life: as I was with Moses, so will I be with thee: I will not leaue thee, nor forsake thee.
6 Esfuérzate y sé valiente, porque tú lograrás que este pueblo herede la tierra que juré a sus antepasados que les daría.
Be strong and of a good courage: for vnto this people shalt thou deuide the lande for an inheritance, which I sware vnto their fathers to giue them.
7 Solamente esfuérzate y sé muy valiente. Cuida de hacer conforme a toda la Ley que mi esclavo Moisés te ordenó. No te apartes de ella ni a la derecha ni a la izquierda, para que tengas buen éxito dondequiera que vayas.
Onely be thou strong, and of a most valiant courage, that thou mayest obserue and doe according to all the Lawe which Moses my seruant hath commanded thee: thou shalt not turne away from it to the right hande, nor to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoeuer thou goest.
8 No se aparte de tu boca el rollo de esta Ley. Meditarás en él día y noche para que cuides de hacer conforme a todo aquello que está escrito en él, porque entonces prosperará tu camino, y tendrás buen éxito.
Let not this booke of the Law depart out of thy mouth, but meditate therin day and night, that thou mayest obserue and doe according to all that is written therein: for then shalt thou make thy way prosperous, and then shalt thou haue good successe.
9 ¿No te [lo] ordené Yo? ¡Sé fuerte y valiente! No temas ni desmayes, porque Yavé tu ʼElohim está contigo dondequiera que vayas.
Haue not I commanded thee, saying, Be strong and of a good courage, feare not, nor be discouraged? for I the Lord thy God will be with thee, whithersoeuer thou goest.
10 Josué ordenó a los oficiales del pueblo:
Then Ioshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,
11 Pasen en medio del campamento, manden al pueblo: Preparen provisión, porque dentro de tres días cruzarán este Jordán para entrar a poseer la tierra que Yavé su ʼElohim les da en posesión.
Passe through the hoste, and commande the people, saying, Prepare you vitailes: for after three dayes ye shall passe ouer this Iorden, to goe in to possesse the lande, which the Lord your God giueth you to possesse it.
12 Josué habló también a los rubenitas, los gaditas y la media tribu de Manasés:
And vnto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to halfe the tribe of Manasseh spake Ioshua, saying,
13 Acuérdense de la palabra que Moisés, esclavo de Yavé, les ordenó: Yavé su ʼElohim, les concedió descanso y les dio esta tierra.
Remember the worde, which Moses the seruant of the Lord commanded you, saying, The Lord your God hath giuen you rest, and hath giuen you this land.
14 Sus esposas, sus pequeños y sus ganados quedarán en la tierra que Moisés les dio a este lado del Jordán, pero todos sus valientes guerreros pasarán en orden de batalla al frente de sus hermanos y los ayudarán,
Your wiues, your children, and your cattell shall remaine in the land which Moses gaue you on this side Iorden: but ye shall goe ouer before your brethren armed, all that be men of warre, and shall helpe them,
15 hasta que Yavé conceda descanso a sus hermanos como a ustedes, y ellos también posean la tierra que Yavé su ʼElohim les da. Entonces se volverán a la tierra de su posesión, y poseerán la tierra que Moisés, esclavo de Yavé, les dio a este lado del Jordán, hacia donde nace el sol.
Vntill the Lord haue giuen your brethren rest, as well as to you, and vntill they also shall possesse the land, which the Lord your God giueth them: then shall ye returne vnto the lande of your possession and shall possesse it, which land Moses the Lordes seruant gaue you on this side Iorden toward the sunne rising.
16 Entonces respondieron a Josué: Haremos todo lo que nos ordenas e iremos a dondequiera que nos envíes.
Then they answered Ioshua, saying, Al that thou hast commanded vs, we will doe, and whithersoeuer thou sendest vs, we will goe.
17 De la manera que obedecimos a Moisés en todo, así te obedeceremos a ti, solo que Yavé tu ʼElohim esté contigo como estuvo con Moisés.
As we obeyed Moses in all things, so will we obey thee: onely the Lord thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.
18 Cualquiera que sea rebelde a tu mandamiento y no obedezca tus palabras en todo lo que le ordenes, que muera. Solo sé fuerte y valiente.
Whosoeuer shall rebell against thy commandement, and will not obey thy wordes in all that thou commaundest him, let him bee put to death: onely be strong and of good courage.
