Juan 13
1 Antes de la fiesta de la Pascua, Jesús sabía que había llegado su hora para pasar de este mundo al Padre. Como había amado a los suyos que estaban en el mundo, los amó hasta el fin.
NOW before the feast of the passover, Jesus, knowing that his hour was come, that he should go out of this world to the Father, having loved his peculiar people that are in the world, he loved them to the end.
2 Cuando celebraban una cena, el diablo ya había puesto en el corazón de Judas, [hijo] de Simón Iscariote, que lo entregara.
And supper being served, (the devil having now injected into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, that he should betray him; )
3 [Jesús] sabía que el Padre le dio todas las cosas en las manos, que salió de Dios y regresaba a Él.
Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came out from God, and was going to God;
4 Se puso en pie, se quitó el manto, tomó una toalla y se [la] ató.
he rises from supper, and lays aside his garments, and taking a towel, he wound it about himself.
5 Luego echó agua en una vasija, procedió a lavar los pies de los discípulos y a secarlos con la toalla.
Then he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which he was begirt.
6 Cuando llegó a Simón Pedro, éste le preguntó: Señor, ¿Tú me lavas los pies?
Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and he saith to him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
7 Jesús respondió: Tú no entiendes ahora lo que Yo te hago. Lo entenderás después.
Jesus answered and said to him, What I am doing thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
8 Pedro le dijo: ¡Que de ningún modo me laves los pies jamás! Jesús le respondió: Si no te lavo, no tienes parte conmigo. (aiōn g165)
Peter saith to him, Thou shalt never wash my feet: no, never. Jesus answered him, Except I wash thee, thou hast no part with me. (aiōn g165)
9 Simón Pedro le respondió: ¡Señor, no solo mis pies, sino también las manos y la cabeza!
Simon Peter saith to him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
10 Jesús le dijo: El que está bañado no necesita lavarse sino los pies, pues está todo limpio. Ustedes están limpios, aunque no todos.
Jesus saith to him, He that is washed hath need only to wash his feet, for he is entirely clean: and ye are clean, but not all.
11 Por eso dijo: No todos están limpios, porque sabía quién lo traicionaría.
(For he knew who would betray him; therefore he said, Ye are not all clean.)
12 Después de lavarles los pies, tomó su manto, [se] reclinó otra vez y les preguntó: ¿Entienden [lo] que les hice?
When therefore he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, and sat down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done unto you?
13 Ustedes me llaman el Maestro y el Señor, y dicen bien porque [lo] soy.
Ye call me Master, and Lord: and ye speak truly; for such I am.
14 Pues si Yo, el Señor y el Maestro, les lavé los pies, ustedes también laven los pies los unos a los otros.
If therefore I have washed your feet, though the Lord and the Master; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 Porque les di ejemplo, hagan también ustedes como Yo les hice.
For I have given you an example, that just as I have done to you, ye should do also.
16 En verdad, en verdad les digo: Un esclavo no es mayor que su señor, ni un enviado mayor que el que lo envió.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his master; nor the messenger greater than him that sent him.
17 Si saben esto, son inmensamente felices si lo practican.
If ye know these things, blessed are ye if ye practise them.
18 No hablo de todos ustedes. Yo sé a quiénes me escogí, pero para que se cumpla la Escritura: El que come mi pan levantó contra Mí su talón.
I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me, hath lift up his heel against me.
19 Esto les digo ahora antes que ocurra, para que cuando suceda, crean que Yo soy.
Now I tell you previously, before this comes to pass, that, when it cometh to pass, ye may believe that I am.
20 En verdad, en verdad les digo: El que recibe al que Yo envío, me recibe a Mí. El que me recibe a Mí, recibe al que me envió.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I shall send, receiveth me; and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me.
21 Después de decir esto, Jesús se conmovió en espíritu y dijo: En verdad, en verdad les digo que uno de ustedes me traicionará.
As Jesus was speaking these words, he was greatly agitated in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
22 Los discípulos se miraban unos a otros, y se preguntaban de quién hablaba.
Then the disciples looked one at another, doubting of whom he spake.
23 Uno de sus discípulos, a quien Jesús amaba, estaba al lado de Jesús.
Now there was one of the disciples reclining on the bosom of Jesus, whom Jesus loved.
24 Simón Pedro le hizo señas a éste para que le preguntara de quién hablaba.
Therefore Simon Peter gave him a significant look, that he should inquire of Jesus, which of them it should be of whom he spake.
25 De esta manera, como estaba reclinado al lado de Jesús, le preguntó: Señor, ¿quién es?
And he leaning on the breast of Jesus, said to him, Lord, which is it?
26 Jesús [le] respondió: Es aquél a quien yo dé este bocado mojado. Después de mojar el bocado, [lo] dio a Judas, [hijo] de Simón Iscariote.
Jesus answered, It is he to whom I shall give this morsel of bread, when I have dipped it. And dipping the morsel of bread, he gave it unto Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
27 En ese momento, con el bocado Satanás entró en él. Entonces Jesús le ordenó: Haz pronto lo que haces.
And after the sop, then entered Satan into him. Jesus saith to him, What thou doest, do quickly.
28 Ninguno de los reclinados entendió por qué le dijo esto.
Now none of those who sat at table knew wherefore he had spoken to him.
29 Algunos pensaban que como Judas tenía la bolsa del dinero, Jesús le decía que comprara las cosas que necesitaban para la fiesta, o que diera algo a los pobres.
For some supposed, as Judas kept the purse, that Jesus was saying to him, Buy what we need for the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.
30 Cuando él tomó el bocado, enseguida salió. Era de noche.
Having then received the sop, he went out immediately: now it was night.
31 Cuando Judas salió, Jesús dijo: ¡Ahora es glorificado el Hijo del Hombre, y Dios es glorificado en Él!
When therefore he was gone, Jesus saith, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.
32 Si Dios es glorificado en Él, Dios también lo glorificará en Él mismo. Y enseguida lo glorificará.
If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him with himself, and immediately glorify him.
33 Hijitos, aún estoy un poco con ustedes. Me buscarán, pero como dije a los judíos, lo digo también a ustedes ahora: Adonde Yo voy, ustedes no pueden ir.
My dear children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: as I said to the Jews, Whither I am going, ye cannot come; so say I now to you.
34 Un Mandamiento nuevo les doy: Que se amen unos a otros. Como los amé, ámense también unos a otros.
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; even as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 Por esto sabrán todos que son mis discípulos, si se aman los unos a los otros.
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
36 Simón Pedro le preguntó: Señor, ¿a dónde vas? Jesús respondió: Adonde voy no puedes seguirme ahora, pero [me] seguirás más tarde.
Simon Peter saith to him, Lord, Whither art thou going? Jesus answered him, Whither I am going, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me hereafter.
37 Pedro le preguntó: Señor, ¿por qué no puedo seguirte ahora? Mi vida daré por Ti.
Peter saith to him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thee.
38 Jesús le respondió: ¿Tu vida darás por Mí? En verdad, en verdad te digo: Que de ningún modo cante un gallo hasta que me niegues tres veces.
Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for me? Verily, verily, I tell thee, the cock will not crow, before thou shalt deny me thrice.
