Job 36

1 Entonces Eliú continuó:

And Elihu adds and says:

2 Espérame un poco y te diré más, porque aún queda algo por decir en defensa de ʼEloha.

“Honor me a little, and I show you, That yet for God [are] words.

3 Desde lejos traeré mi saber y atribuiré justicia a mi Hacedor,

I lift up my knowledge from afar, And I ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

4 porque en verdad mis palabras no son falsas. Contigo está Uno que es perfecto en conocimiento.

For my words [are] truly not false, The perfect in knowledge [is] with you.

5 Ciertamente ʼEL es poderoso, pero no desprecia a nadie. Es poderoso en la fuerza del entendimiento.

Behold, God [is] mighty, and does not despise, Mighty [in] power [and] heart.

6 No otorga vida al perverso, pero hace justicia a los afligidos.

He does not revive the wicked, And appoints the judgment of the poor;

7 No aparta sus ojos de los justos. Los hace sentar con reyes en el trono para siempre, y serán exaltados.

He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous, And [from] kings on the throne, And causes them to sit forever, and they are high,

8 Si están presos con grilletes y atrapados con cuerdas de aflicción,

And if prisoners in chains They are captured with cords of affliction,

9 los reprende por su obra y por sus transgresiones, porque se exaltaron a sí mismos.

Then He declares to them their work, And their transgressions, Because they have become mighty,

10 Les abre el oído a la corrección y los exhorta a devolverse de la iniquidad.

And He uncovers their ear for instruction, And commands that they turn back from iniquity.

11 Si escuchan y se someten, acaban sus días en prosperidad, y sus años en deleites.

If they hear and serve, They complete their days in good, And their years in pleasantness.

12 Pero si no escuchan, perecen a filo de espada o por su ignorancia.

And if they do not listen, They pass away by the dart, And expire without knowledge.

13 Los impíos de corazón atesoran ira, no claman cuando Él los ata y

And the profane in heart set the face, They do not cry when He has bound them.

14 mueren en la juventud. Sus vidas terminan entre los sodomitas con rituales paganos.

Their soul dies in youth, And their life among the defiled.

15 Él libra a los afligidos en su aflicción. Abre sus oídos en la opresión.

He draws out the afflicted in his affliction, And uncovers their ear in oppression.

16 También te sacará de las garras de la angustia a un lugar espacioso y abierto, para servirte una mesa llena de sustancia.

And He also moved you from a narrow place [To] a broad place—no constriction under it, And the sitting beyond of your table has been full of fatness.

17 Pero si tú estás lleno del juicio que merece el perverso, el juicio y la justicia se apoderan de ti.

And you have fulfilled the judgment of the wicked, Judgment and justice are upheld because of fury,

18 Por lo cual, teme, no sea que en su ira te quite de un golpe, del cual no te pueda librar ni un gran rescate.

Lest He move you with a stroke, And the abundance of an atonement not turn you aside.

19 ¿Será suficiente tu clamor para librarte de la angustia o todas las fuerzas de tu poder?

Does He value your riches? He has gold, and all the forces of power.

20 No anheles la noche en la cual los pueblos desaparecerán de su lugar.

Do not desire the night, For the going up of peoples in their stead.

21 Cuídate de no volver a la iniquidad, porque escogiste ésta en vez de la aflicción.

Take heed—do not turn to iniquity, For you have fixed on this Rather than [on] affliction.

22 Ciertamente ʼEL es exaltado en su poder: ¿Quién es un Maestro como Él?

Behold, God sits on high by His power, Who [is] like Him—a teacher?

23 ¿Quién le señala el camino? ¿Quién le dirá jamás: Cometiste injusticia?

Who has appointed to Him His way? And who said, You have done iniquity?

24 Acuérdate de engrandecer su obra, de la cual los hombres cantan.

Remember that you magnify His work That men have beheld.

25 Todos los hombres la contemplan. Los humanos la miran desde lejos.

All men have looked on it, Man looks attentively from afar.

26 Mira, ʼEL es exaltado, y nosotros no lo conocemos. El número de sus años es inescrutable.

Behold, God [is] high, And we do not know the number of His years, Indeed, there [is] no searching.

27 Él atrae las gotas de agua, y a la lluvia convierte en vapor

When He diminishes droppings of the waters, They refine rain according to its vapor,

28 que destilan las nubes, y vierten en abundancia sobre los hombres.

Which clouds drop, They distill on man abundantly.

29 ¿Quién entenderá el despliegue de las nubes y el estruendo de la bóveda celeste?

Indeed, do [any] understand The spreadings out of a cloud? The noises of His dwelling place?

30 Ciertamente, despliega su rayo en ella y cubre las profundidades del mar.

Behold, He has spread His light over it, And He has covered the roots of the sea,

31 Con tales cosas gobierna a los pueblos y da alimento en abundancia.

For He judges peoples by them, He gives food in abundance.

32 Cubre con sus manos el rayo y lo lanza certero hacia su blanco.

By two palms He has covered the light, And lays a charge over it in meeting,

33 El trueno anuncia su presencia, el ganado también, con respecto a la tormenta que se levanta.

His shout shows it, The livestock also, the rising [storm].”
