Isaías 45
1 Yavé dice esto a su ungido, a Ciro, a quien tomé por su mano derecha para someter naciones ante él y aflojar los cinturones de los reyes, para abrir delante de él los batientes a fin de que las puertas no queden cerradas.
Thus hath said the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whom I have taken hold of by his right hand, to subdue nations before him, even the loins of kings will I ungird, to open before him [city-]doors, and gates that they shall not be shut;
2 Yo iré delante de ti y allanaré los lugares escabrosos. Quebraré los batientes de bronce y haré pedazos las barras de hierro.
I myself will go before thee, and proud eminences will I level: doors of brass will I break in pieces, and bolts of iron will I cut asunder.
3 Te daré los tesoros escondidos, riquezas ocultas en los lugares secretos, para que sepas que Yo, Yavé, te llamo por tu nombre. Soy el ʼElohim de Israel.
And I will give unto thee the treasures of darkness, and riches hidden in secret places; in order that thou mayest know that I am the Lord, who call thee by thy name, the God of Israel;
4 Por amor a mi esclavo Jacob y a mi escogido Israel, te llamé por tu nombre. Aunque no me conoces te doy un título de honor,
For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my elect; and I have called thee by thy name: I have designated thee, though thou hast not known me.
5 Yo soy Yavé, y no hay otro. Fuera de Mí no hay ʼelohim. Yo te fortalecí, aunque no me conoces,
I am the Lord, and there is none else, beside me there is no god; I assisted thee, though thou hast not known me.
6 para que sepan desde el nacimiento del sol hasta su ocaso que no hay otro fuera de Mí. Yo, Yavé, y no hay otro.
In order that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from its setting, that there is nothing without me. I am the Lord, and there is no one else;
7 Yo formo la luz y creo la oscuridad. Establezco la paz y creo la adversidad. Yo, Yavé, hago todas estas cosas.
Forming the light, and creating darkness; making peace, and creating evil: I the Lord do all these things.
8 Destila, oh cielo, desde arriba, y derramen las nubes la justicia. Que se abra la tierra y brote la salvación, y juntamente con ella la justicia. Yo, Yavé, lo creé.
Drop down ye heavens, and let the skies distil blessing; let the earth open and let them [all] be fruitful of prosperity, and let righteousness spring up likewise: I the Lord have created it.
9 ¡Ay del que contiende con su Hacedor, aunque es nada más que un trozo de tiesto entre los tiestos de arcilla! ¿Dirá la arcilla al alfarero: Qué haces? O: ¿Tu vasija no tiene asas?
Woe unto him that contendeth with the one who formed him—a potsherd among the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?
10 Ay del que le dice al padre: ¿Por qué engendras? Y a la mujer: ¿Por qué das a luz?
Woe unto him that saith unto [his] father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What bringest thou forth?
11 Yavé, el Santo de Israel, tu Formador, dice: ¿Me pedirán cuenta de mis hijos? ¿Me darán órdenes para la obra de mis manos?
Thus hath said the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and he who hath formed him, About events to come will you ask me? concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands will ye command me?
12 Yo hice la tierra y creé al hombre sobre ella. Yo mismo desplegué los cielos con mis manos. Yo doy órdenes a toda su hueste.
[When] I myself have made the earth, and created man upon it; [when] I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and I have ordained all their host.
13 Yo lo levanté en justicia y allanaré todos sus caminos. Él reconstruirá mi ciudad y dejará a mis cautivos salir, no por precio ni por soborno, dice Yavé de las huestes.
I myself have waked him up in righteousness, and all his ways will I make straight: he shall build my city, and my exiles shall he dismiss free, not for purchase-money nor for presents, saith the Lord of hosts.
14 Yavé dice: El trabajo de Egipto, las mercaderías de Etiopía, y los sabeos, hombres de gran estatura, se pasarán a ti. Tuyos serán. Marcharán detrás de ti. Irán con grillos. Se inclinarán ante ti y suplicarán: En verdad ʼElohim está contigo, y no existe algún otro ʼelohim.
Thus hath said the Lord, The labor of Egypt, and the merchandise of Ethiopia, and of the Sabeans, men of high stature, shall pass over unto thee, and thine shall they be: behind thee shall they walk; in chains shall they pass along, and unto thee shall they bow, unto thee shall they pray, [saying] Yea, only among thee is God; and there is no one else beside God.
15 ¡En verdad Tú eres ʼEL encubierto! ¡El ʼElohim de Israel, el Salvador!
Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.
16 Todos ellos serán avergonzados y humillados. [Todos] los fabricantes de ídolos irán juntos con deshonra.
They are ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: together shall they go to confusion that are makers of idols.
17 Israel será salvado por Yavé con salvación eterna. Nunca jamás serán avergonzados ni humillados.
[But] Israel shall be helped by the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed and not be confounded unto all eternity.
18 Porque Yavé, Quien creó los cielos, dice: Él es el ʼElohim, Quien formó la tierra, la hizo y la estableció. No la creó para que esté vacía. La formó para que sea habitada. Yo, Yavé, y no hay otro.
For thus hath said the Lord the creator of the heavens; he, the God that formed the earth and made it; he that hath established it, —not for naught did he create it, to be inhabited did he form it: I am the Lord; and there is no one else.
19 No hablé en secreto en un lugar oscuro de la tierra, ni dije a la descendencia de Jacob: En vano me buscan. Yo, Yavé, hablo justicia, anuncio rectitud.
Not on a secret spot have I spoken, in a dark place of the earth; I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me for naught; [but] I the Lord speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.
20 ¡Reúnanse y vengan! ¡Acérquense todos los sobrevivientes entre las naciones! Nada saben los que cargan un ídolo de madera y adoran a un ʼel que no puede salvar.
Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye escaped fugitives of the nations! They have no knowledge that carry the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.
21 Declaren, expongan pruebas y entren todos en consulta: ¿Quién proclamó esto desde antaño? ¿Quién lo dijo desde entonces? ¿No fui Yo, Yavé? Y no hay otro ʼelohim fuera de Mí, ʼEL justo y salvador. No hay alguno, excepto Yo.
Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: Who hath announced this in ancient times? told it from the beginning? is it not I the Lord? and there is no other god without me, a just god and a saviour; there is none beside me.
22 Miren a Mí y sean salvos todos los confines de la tierra, porque Yo soy ʼEL, y no hay otro.
Turn unto me, so that ye may be helped, all ye ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no one else.
23 Por Mí mismo juré. De mi boca salió la sentencia y no será revocada: Que ante Mí se doblará toda rodilla y jurará toda lengua.
By myself have I sworn, righteousness is gone out of my mouth, a word [which] shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bend, every tongue shall swear.
24 De Mí se dirá: ¡Ciertamente en Yavé está la justicia y el poder! A Él vendrán y serán avergonzados todos los que se enfurecen contra Él.
Only in the Lord, —shall men say of me, —there are righteousness and strength. Unto him shall come and be ashamed all that are incensed against him.
25 Toda la descendencia de Israel será justificada y se ufanará en Yavé.
In the Lord shall be justified, and shall glory themselves all the seed of Israel.
