Isaías 28
1 ¡Ay de la arrogante corona de los ebrios de Efraín y de la flor marchita de su gloriosa hermosura que está sobre la cabeza de los que se jactan en la abundancia, aturdidos por el vino!
Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious adornment, which is on the head of the fat valley of them that are overcome with wine.
2 Ciertamente ʼAdonay tiene uno que es fuerte y poderoso, como aguacero de granizo, como tormenta trastornadora, y como aguacero de recias aguas desbordantes que derriban la tierra con fuerza.
Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, as a storm of hail [and] a destroying tempest; as a storm of mighty waters overflowing, shall he cast down to the earth with might.
3 Con los pies pisoteará la arrogante corona de los ebrios de Efraín
The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim shall be trodden under feet;
4 y la flor marchita de su gloriosa hermosura que está sobre la cabeza de los que se jactan de la abundancia. Será como la fruta temprana que llega antes del verano, la cual cuando alguno la mira, se la traga tan pronto como la tiene en la mano.
and the fading flower of his glorious adornment which is on the head of the fat valley shall be like an early fig before the summer: as soon as he that seeth it perceiveth it, scarcely is it in his hand, he swalloweth it down.
5 Aquel día Yavé de las huestes será corona de gloria y diadema de hermosura al remanente de su pueblo,
In that day will Jehovah of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the remnant of his people;
6 y Espíritu de justicia para el que se sienta a juzgar, valor para los que repelen el asalto a la puerta.
and for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.
7 Éstos también erraron a causa del vino y se entontecieron con el licor. Sacerdotes y profetas se tambalean por el licor. Los aturde el vino. Dan traspiés por el licor. El sacerdote y el profeta erraron por el licor. Fueron trastornados por el vino. Erraron en la visión. Titubean en la sentencia.
But these also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are they gone astray. The priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink; they are overpowered by wine, they are gone astray through strong drink; they have erred in vision, they have stumbled [in] judgment.
8 Todas las mesas están llenas de vómito y suciedad, y no queda sitio limpio.
For all tables are full of filthy vomit, so that there is no [more] place.
9 ¿A quién enseñará conocimiento? ¿A quién interpretará el mensaje? ¿A los que acaban de ser destetados? ¿A los que acaban de ser quitados del pecho materno?
Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand the report? Them that are weaned from the milk, withdrawn from the breasts?
10 Porque es precepto a precepto, mandamiento a mandamiento, renglón por renglón, línea por línea, un poquito allí, otro poquito allá.
For [it is] precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little. ...
11 En verdad, en lenguaje humillante, en lengua extraña Él hablará a este pueblo,
For with stammering lips and a strange tongue will he speak to this people;
12 el que les dijo: Aquí está el reposo. Den reposo al cansado. Esto es lugar de descanso. Pero no quisieron escuchar.
to whom he said, This is the rest: cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing. But they would not hear.
13 Por lo cual, la Palabra de Yavé para ellos será precepto por precepto, mandamiento por mandamiento, renglón por renglón, línea por línea, un poquito allí, otro poquito allá, hasta que vayan y caigan de espalda, sean quebrantados, enredados y llevados cautivos.
And the word of Jehovah was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little: that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
14 Por tanto, oh varones burlones que gobiernan a ese pueblo de Jerusalén: Escuchen la Palabra de Yavé:
Therefore hear the word of Jehovah, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
15 Por cuanto dijeron: Hicimos un pacto con la muerte y con el Seol tenemos convenio. Cuando pase el aguacero como torrente, no llegará a nosotros, porque designamos la mentira como nuestro refugio y la falsedad como nuestro escondrijo. (Sheol h7585)
For ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol have we made an agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us; for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves. (Sheol h7585)
16 Por tanto, ʼAdonay Yavé dice: Ciertamente Yo pongo como Cimiento en Sion, una Piedra, Piedra probada, angular, preciosa, de cimiento estable. El que cree, no será conturbado.
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I lay for foundation in Zion a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner-stone, a sure foundation: he that trusteth shall not make haste.
17 Pondré la justicia como cordel y la rectitud como plomada. El granizo arrasará su refugio de mentiras, y las aguas inundarán su escondrijo.
And I will appoint judgment for a line, and righteousness for a plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding-place.
18 Su pacto con la muerte será anulado, y su convenio con el Seol no será estable. Cuando pase el aguacero arrollador serán aplastados por él. (Sheol h7585)
And your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, ye shall be trodden down by it. (Sheol h7585)
19 Cada vez que pase, los arrollará, y pasará mañana tras mañana, de día y de noche. Entonces entender el mensaje solo traerá terror.
As it passeth through it shall take you; for morning by morning shall it pass through, by day and by night; and it shall be terror only to understand the report.
20 La cama será corta para estirarse y la manta estrecha para envolverse.
For the bed is too short to stretch oneself on, and the covering too narrow when he would wrap himself in it.
21 Yavé se levantará como en la montaña Perazim. Se enardecerá como en el valle de Gabaón para hacer su trabajo, su extraño trabajo.
For Jehovah will rise up as on mount Perazim, he will be moved with anger as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his strange work, and perform his act, his unwonted act.
22 Por tanto, no se burlen, no sea que se aprieten más sus ataduras. Porque escuché de parte de ʼAdonay Yavé de las huestes la destrucción decretada sobre toda la tierra.
Now therefore be ye not scorners, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have heard from the Lord Jehovah of hosts a consumption, and [one] determined, upon the whole land.
23 Estén atentos y escuchen mi voz. Atiendan y escuchen mi palabra:
Give ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.
24 El que ara para sembrar, ¿arará día tras día? ¿Romperá y deshará los terrones todo el día?
Doth the ploughman plough all day to sow? Is he [all day] opening and breaking the clods of his land?
25 Tan pronto como el campo esté allanado, ¿no siembra el eneldo, esparce el comino, echa el trigo en sus surcos o la cebada en la parcela determinada y centeno en su borde?
Doth he not, when he hath levelled the face thereof, cast abroad dill, and scatter cummin, and set the wheat in rows, and the barley in an appointed place, and the rye in its border?
26 Porque su ʼElohim lo instruye y le enseña lo conveniente:
His God doth instruct him in [his] judgment, he doth teach him.
27 Que el eneldo no se trilla con el trillo, ni se debe pasar la rueda de la carreta sobre el comino, pero el eneldo se golpea con un palo y el comino con una vara.
For the dill is not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart-wheel turned about upon the cummin; but dill is beaten out with a staff, and cummin with a rod.
28 El grano se trilla, pero no indefinidamente, ni lo comprime con la rueda de la carreta, ni lo quiebra con los dientes de su trillo.
Bread [corn] is crushed, because he will not ever be threshing it; and if he drove the wheels of his cart and his horses [over it], he would not crush it.
29 También esto viene de Yavé de las huestes, Quien hace maravilloso su consejo y grande su sabiduría.
This also cometh forth from Jehovah of hosts; he is wonderful in counsel, great in wisdom.
