Hageo 2
1 El 21 del mes séptimo, la Palabra de Yavé vino por medio del profeta Hageo:
In the seventh [month], on the twenty-first of the month, a word of YHWH has been by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying,
2 Habla ahora a Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Judá, y a Josué, hijo del sumo sacerdote Josadac, y al resto del pueblo:
“Now speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Josedech, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying,
3 ¿Quién de ustedes vio esta Casa en su primer esplendor? ¿Y cómo la ve ahora? ¿No les parece como nada en comparación?
Who among you has been left that saw this house in its former glory? And what are you seeing it now? Is it not, compared with it, as nothing in your eyes?
4 Ahora pues, esfuérzate, Zorobabel, dice Yavé. Esfuérzate tú también, Josué, hijo del sumo sacerdote Josadac, y esfuércese todo el pueblo de esta tierra. Actúen, porque Yo estoy con ustedes, dice Yavé de las huestes.
And now, be strong, O Zerubbabel,” A declaration of YHWH, “And be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest, And be strong, all you people of the land,” A declaration of YHWH, “And do, for I [am] with you,” A declaration of YHWH of Hosts.
5 Según el Pacto que hice con ustedes cuando salieron de Egipto, mi Espíritu estará en medio de ustedes. No teman.
“The thing that I covenanted with you, In your coming forth from Egypt, And My Spirit is remaining in your midst, do not fear.”
6 Porque Yavé de las huestes dice: Dentro de poco Yo estremeceré el cielo y la tierra, el mar y la tierra seca.
For thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Yet once more—it [is] a little, And I am shaking the heavens and the earth, And the sea, and the dry land,
7 Estremeceré a todas las naciones y vendrán al Deseado de todas las naciones. Y Yo llenaré de gloria este Templo, dice Yavé de las huestes.
And I have shaken all the nations, And they have come [to] the desire of all the nations, And I have filled this house [with] glory,” said YHWH of Hosts.
8 Mía es la plata y mío es el oro, dice Yavé de las huestes.
“The silver [is] Mine, and the gold [is] Mine,” A declaration of YHWH of Hosts.
9 La gloria final de este Templo será mayor que la del primero. En este lugar daré paz, dice Yavé de las huestes.
“Greater is the glory of this latter house, Than of the former,” said YHWH of Hosts, “And I give peace in this place,” A declaration of YHWH of Hosts.
10 El día 24 del noveno mes, en el segundo año de Darío, vino la Palabra de Yavé por medio del profeta Hageo:
On the twenty-fourth of the ninth [month], in the second year of Darius, a word of YHWH has been by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying,
11 Yavé de la huestes dice: Pregunta ahora a los sacerdotes con respecto a la Ley:
Thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Now ask the priests of the Law, saying,
12 Si alguno lleva carne consagrada en la falda de su ropa, y con ella toca algún pan, vianda, vino, aceite o cualquier alimento, ¿son santificados? Y los sacerdotes respondieron: No.
Behold, [when] one carries holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and he has come with his skirt against the bread, or against the stew, or against the wine, or against the oil, or against any food—is it holy?” And the priests answer and say, “No.”
13 Hageo dijo: Si un impuro a causa de un cadáver, toca cualquiera de estas cosas, ¿será impuro? Y contestaron los sacerdotes: Será impuro.
And Haggai says, “If the unclean of body comes against any of these, is it unclean?” And the priests answer and say, “It is unclean.”
14 Y Hageo respondió: Así es este pueblo y esta nación delante de Mí, dice Yavé. Toda obra de sus manos y todo lo que ofrecen allí es impuro.
And Haggai answers and says, “So [is] this people, and so [is] this nation before Me,” a declaration of YHWH, “and so [is] every work of their hands, and that which they bring near there—it is unclean.
15 Ahora pues, desde hoy en adelante, reflexionen antes que coloquen piedra sobre piedra en la Casa de Yavé.
And now, please lay [it] to your heart, From this day and onward, Before the laying of stone to stone in the temple of YHWH.
16 En aquel tiempo, cuando alguien iba a una pila de 20 medidas, solo hallaba diez, o cuando iba al lagar para sacar 50 cubos, solo había 20.
From that time [one] has come to a heap of twenty, And it has been ten, He has come to the wine vat to draw out fifty measures, And it has been twenty.
17 Los golpeé con honguillo, parásito y granizo en toda obra de sus manos, pero ninguno de ustedes se volvió a mí, dice Yavé.
I have struck you with blasting, And with mildew, and with hail—All the work of your hands, And there is none of you with Me,” A declaration of YHWH.
18 Reflexionen, pues, desde hoy en adelante, desde el día 24 del mes noveno, a partir del día cuando se echó el cimiento de la Casa de Yavé. Reflexionen:
“Now set [it] to your heart, from this day and onward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth [month], even from the day that the temple of YHWH has been founded, set [it] to your heart.
19 ¿Está aún la semilla en el granero? Ni la vid, ni la higuera, ni el granado, ni el olivo produjeron, pero desde hoy en adelante los bendeciré.
Is the seed yet in the barn? And until now the vine and the fig, And the pomegranate, and the olive-tree, Have not borne—from this day I bless.”
20 El 24 del mismo mes vino la Palabra de Yavé por segunda vez a Hageo:
And there is a word of YHWH a second time to Haggai, on the twenty-fourth of the month, saying,
21 Habla a Zorobabel, gobernador de Judá: Yo haré temblar el cielo y la tierra.
“Speak to Zerubbabel governor of Judah, saying, I am shaking the heavens and the earth,
22 Trastornaré el trono de los reinos y destruiré la fuerza de los reinos de las naciones. Volcaré carruajes y a los que suben a ellos. Y caerán caballos y jinetes, cada uno por la espada de su hermano.
And have overturned the throne of kingdoms, And I have destroyed the strength of kingdoms of the nations, And overturned chariot and its charioteers, And horses and their riders have come down, Each by the sword of his brother.
23 En aquel día, dice Yavé de las huestes, te tomaré, oh Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, esclavo mío. Te pondré como un anillo de sellar, porque te escogí, dice Yavé de las huestes.
In that day,” a declaration of YHWH of Hosts, “I take you, Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, My servant,” A declaration of YHWH, “And have set you as a signet, For I have fixed on you,” A declaration of YHWH of Hosts!
