Génesis 43
1 Pero la hambruna era severa en aquella tierra.
And the derth waxed sore in the lande.
2 Ocurrió que, cuando acabaron de comer el grano que llevaron de Egipto, su padre les dijo: Vuelvan y compren un poco de alimento para nosotros.
And when they had eate vp that corne which they brought out of the lande of Egipte their father sayde vnto them: goo agayne and by vs a litle food.
3 Judá le respondió: Aquel hombre nos advirtió seriamente: No verán mi rostro a menos que su hermano venga con ustedes.
Than sayde Iuda vnto him: the man dyd testifie vnto vs saynge: loke that ye see not my face excepte youre brother be with you.
4 Si envías a nuestro hermano con nosotros, bajaremos y te compraremos alimento,
Therfore yf thou wilt sende oure brother with vs we wyll goo and bye the food.
5 pero si no lo envías, no bajaremos, porque aquel hombre nos dijo: No verán mi rostro, a menos que su hermano esté con ustedes.
But yf thou wylt not sende him we wyll not goo: for the man sayde vnto vs: loke that ye see not my face excepte youre brother be with you.
6 E Israel preguntó: ¿Por qué me hicieron tanto mal al declarar a ese hombre que tenían otro hermano?
And Israell sayde: wherfore delt ye so cruelly with me as to tell the man that ye had yet another brother?
7 Ellos respondieron: Aquel hombre nos preguntó expresamente con respecto a nosotros y de nuestra parentela: ¿Vive aún su padre? ¿Tienen otro hermano? Y le declaramos conforme a estas preguntas. ¿Sabíamos que él diría: Hagan bajar a su hermano?
And they sayde: The man asked vs of oure kynred saynge: is youre father yet alyue? haue ye not another brother? And we tolde him acordynge to these wordes. How cowd we knowe that he wolde byd vs brynge oure brother downe with vs?
8 Judá dijo a su padre Israel: Envía al joven conmigo, así nos levantaremos e iremos para que vivamos y no muramos también nosotros, también tú, y también nuestros pequeños.
Than sayde Iuda vnto Israell his father: Send the lad with me and we wyll ryse and goo that we maye lyue and not dye: both we thou and also oure childern.
9 Yo salgo fiador por él. A mí mismo me pedirás cuentas por él. Si no te lo devuelvo y lo coloco delante de ti, seré culpable ante ti todos los días.
I wilbe suertie for him and of my handes requyre him. Yf I brynge him not to the and sett him before thine eyes than let me bere the blame for euer.
10 Si no hubiéramos demorado, ciertamente ya habríamos vuelto dos veces.
For except we had made this tarieg: by this we had bene there twyse and come agayne.
11 Su padre Israel respondió: Si tiene que ser así, háganlo. Tomen de lo mejor de la tierra en sus sacos y lleven obsequios a aquel varón, un poco de bálsamo, un poco de miel, especias, mirra, nueces y almendras.
Than their father Israel sayde vnto the Yf it must nedes be so now: than do thus take of the best frutes of the lande in youre vesselles and brynge the man a present a curtesie bawlme and a curtesie of hony spyces and myrre dates and almondes.
12 Lleven en sus manos el doble de la plata y lleven en su mano la plata devuelta en las bocas de sus sacos, pues quizás fue un error.
And take as moch money more with you. And the money that was brought agayne in youre sackes take it agayne with you in youre handes peraduenture it was some ouersyghte.
13 Tomen a su hermano, levántense y vuelvan ante aquel hombre.
Take also youre brother with you and aryse and goo agayne to the man.
14 Y que ʼEL-Shadday les conceda gran misericordia ante aquel hombre, y les suelte a su otro hermano, y a Benjamín. Y si tengo que quedar privado de hijos, ¡que quede privado de mis hijos!
And God almightie geue you mercie in the sighte of the man and send you youre other brother and also Be Iamin and I wilbe as a ma robbed of his childern.
15 Entonces los hombres, al tomar los obsequios, el doble de plata en su mano, y a Benjamín, se levantaron y bajaron a Egipto para presentarse ante José.
Thus toke they the present and twise so moch more money with them and Ben Iamin. And rose vp went downe to Egipte and presented them selfe to Ioseph.
16 Cuando José vio a Benjamín con ellos, dijo al administrador de su casa: Ordena que esos varones entren en la casa, degüella un animal y prepáralo, porque estos varones comerán conmigo a mediodía.
When Ioseph sawe Ben Iamin with them he sayde to the ruelar of his house: brynge these men home and sley and make redie: for they shall dyne with me at none.
17 El hombre hizo como José dijo, y los hizo entrar en casa de José.
And the man dyd as Ioseph bad and brought them in to Iosephs house.
18 Los hombres tuvieron temor cuando fueron conducidos a casa de José, pues decían: Por el asunto de la plata que fue devuelta en nuestros sacos la primera vez somos traídos acá, para atacarnos, abalanzarse sobre nosotros y tomarnos como esclavos a nosotros y a nuestros asnos.
When they were brought to Iosephs house they were afrayde ad sayde: be cause of the money yt came in oure sackes mouthes at the first tyme are we brought to pyke a quarell with vs and to laye some thinge to oure charge: to brynge us in bondage and oure asses also.
19 Entonces llegaron al administrador de la casa de José, y le hablaron en la puerta de la casa:
Therfore came they to the man that was the ruelar ouer Iosephs house and comened with him at the doore
20 ¡Ay, ʼadón nuestro! Nosotros ciertamente bajamos la primera vez a comprar alimento,
and sayde: Sir we came hither at the first tyme to bye foode
21 pero sucedió que cuando llegamos a la posada y abrimos nuestros sacos, la plata de cada uno estaba en la boca de su saco, nuestra plata en su justo peso. Por eso la volvimos a traer en nuestras manos.
and as we came to an Inne and opened oure sackes: beholde euery mannes money was in his sacke with full weghte: But we haue broght it agene with us
22 Trajimos otra plata para comprar alimento. No sabemos quién puso nuestra plata en los sacos.
and other mony haue we brought also in oure handes to bye foode but we can not tell who put oure money in oure sackes.
23 Y él respondió: Paz a ustedes, no teman. El ʼElohim de ustedes y el ʼElohim de su padre les dio un tesoro escondido en sus sacos. La plata de ustedes llegó a mí. Y les sacó a Simeón.
And he sayde: be of good chere feare not: Youre God and the God of youre fathers hath put you that treasure in youre sackes for I had youre money. And he brought Simeon out to them
24 Entonces el hombre ordenó a aquellos varones que entraran en la casa de José. Les dio agua y lavaron sus pies, y dio forraje a sus asnos.
ad led the into Iosephs house and gaue the water to washe their fete and gaue their asses prauender:
25 Ellos prepararon el presente para la llegada de José al mediodía, pues oyeron que allí iban a comer los alimentos.
And they made redie their present agaynst Ioseph came at none for they herde saye that they shulde dyne there.
26 Cuando José llegó a la casa, ellos le presentaron los regalos que tenían en sus manos, y se postraron a tierra ante él.
When Ioseph came home they brought the present in to the house to him which they had in their handes ad fell flat on the grounde befor him.
27 Entonces les preguntó cómo estaban: ¿Está bien su padre, el anciano del cual hablaron? ¿Vive aún?
And he welcomed the curteously sainge: is youre father that old man which ye tolde me of in good health? and is he yet alyue?
28 Y ellos respondieron: Tu esclavo nuestro padre está bien, aún vive. Hicieron reverencia y se postraron.
they answered: thy servaunte oure father is in good health ad is yet alyue. And they bowed them selues and fell to the grounde.
29 Y él levantó sus ojos y vio a su hermano Benjamín, hijo de su madre, y preguntó: ¿Es éste su hermano menor, de quien me hablaron? Y añadió: ʼElohim tenga de ti misericordia, hijo mío.
And he lyfte vp his eyes and behelde his brother Ben Iamin his mothers sonne and sayde: is this youre yongest brother of whome ye sayde vnto me? And sayde: God be mercyfull vnto ye my sonne.
30 José se apresuró a salir, porque su ser interno estaba conmovido por causa de su hermano. Buscó dónde llorar, y entró en su cámara y lloró allí.
And Ioseph made hast (for his hert dyd melt apon his brother) and soughte for to wepe and entred in to his chambre for to wepe there.
31 Después se lavó el rostro y salió. Luego de refrenarse, ordenó: ¡Sirvan los alimentos!
And he wasshed his face and came out and refrayned himselfe and bad sett bread on the table
32 Pero sirvieron separadamente para ellos y por separado para los egipcios que comían con él, pues los egipcios no podían comer alimentos con los hebreos, porque eso era repugnancia para los egipcios.
And they prepared for him by himselfe and for them by them selues and for the Egiptians which ate with him by them selues because the Egyptians may not eate bread with the Hebrues for that is an abhomynacyon vnto the Egiptians.
33 Ellos se sentaron ante él, el primogénito conforme a su primogenitura, y el menor conforme a su menor edad. Y aquellos varones estaban atónitos y se miraban el uno al otro.
And they satt before him: the eldest acordynge vnto his age and the yongest acordyng vnto his youth. And the men marveled amonge them selves.
34 Luego él tomó porciones de delante de él para ellos, pero la porción de Benjamín era cinco veces mayor que las porciones de todos ellos. Bebieron y se alegraron con él.
And they broughte rewardes vnto them from before him: but Ben Iamins parte was fyue tymes so moch as any of theirs. And they ate and they dronke and were dronke wyth him.
