Esdras 8

1 Éstos son los jefes de las casas paternas y la genealogía de los que subieron conmigo desde Babilonia en el reinado del rey Artajerjes:

These [are] now the chief of their fathers, and [this is] the genealogy of them that went up with me from Babylon, in the reign of Artaxerxes the king.

2 De los hijos de Finees, Gersón; de los hijos de Itamar, Daniel; de los hijos de David, Hatús;

Of the sons of Phinehas; Gershom: of the sons of Ithamar; Daniel: of the sons of David; Hattush.

3 de los hijos de Secanías, hijos de Paros, Zacarías, y con él fueron reconocidos por genealogía 150 varones.

Of the sons of Shechaniah, of the sons of Pharosh; Zechariah: and with him were reckoned by genealogy of the males a hundred and fifty.

4 De los hijos de Pajat-moab, Elioenai, hijo de Zeraías, y con él 200 varones;

Of the sons of Pahath-moab; Elihoenai the son of Zerahiah, and with him two hundred males.

5 de los hijos de Zatu, Secanías, hijo de Jahaziel, y con él 300 varones;

Of the sons of Shechaniah; the son of Jahaziel, and with him three hundred males.

6 de los hijos de Adín, Ebed, hijo de Jonatán, y con él 50 varones;

Of the sons also of Adin; Ebed the son of Jonathan, and with him fifty males.

7 de los hijos de Elam, Jesaías, hijo de Atalías, y con él 70 varones;

And of the sons of Elam; Jeshaiah the son of Athaliah, and with him seventy males.

8 de los hijos de Sefatías, Zebadías, hijo de Micael, y con él 80 varones;

And of the sons of Shephatiah; Zebadiah the son of Michael, and with him eighty males.

9 de los hijos de Joab, Obadías, hijo de Jehiel, y con él 218 varones;

Of the sons of Joab; Obadiah the son of Jehiel, and with him two hundred and eighteen males.

10 de los hijos de Bani, Selomit, hijo de Josifías, y con él 160 varones;

And of the sons of Shelomith; the son of Josiphiah, and with him a hundred and sixty males.

11 de los hijos de Bebai, Zacarías, hijo de Bebai, y con él 28 varones;

And of the sons of Bebai; Zechariah the son of Bebai, and with him twenty and eight males.

12 de los hijos de Azgad, Johanán, hijo de Hacatán, y con él 110 varones;

And of the sons of Azgad; Johanan the son of Hakkatan, and with him a hundred and ten males.

13 de los hijos de Adonicam, los últimos, los nombres de los cuales son: Elifelet, Jeiel y Semaías, y con ellos 70 varones;

And of the last sons of Adonikam, whose names [are] these, Eliphelet, Jeiel, and Shemaiah, and with them sixty males.

14 y de los hijos de Bigvai, Utai y Zabud, y con ellos 70 varones.

Of the sons also of Bigvai; Uthai, and Zabbud, and with them seventy males.

15 Los reuní junto al río que corre hacia Ahava y acampamos allí tres días. Pasé revista al pueblo y a los sacerdotes, pero no encontré allí de los hijos de Leví.

And I assembled them at the river that runneth to Ahava; and there we abode in tents three days: and I viewed the people, and the priests, and found there none of the sons of Levi.

16 Entonces envié a buscar a Eliezer, Ariel, Semaías, Elnatán, Jarib, Elnatán, Natán, Zacarías y Mesulam, hombres principales, así como a Joiarib y Elnatán, hombres doctos.

Then sent I for Eliezer, for Ariel, for Shemaiah, and for Elnathan, and for Jarib, and for Elnathan, and for Nathan, and for Zechariah, and for Meshullam, chief men; also for Joiarib, and for Elnathan, men of understanding.

17 Les di instrucciones para Iddo, jefe en la localidad de Casifia. Les dije lo que debían hablar a Iddo y a su hermano, quienes estaban a cargo de Casifia, para que nos trajeran ayudantes para el Templo de nuestro ʼElohim.

And I sent them with commandment to Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia, and I told them what they should say to Iddo, [and] to his brethren the Nethinims, at the place Casiphia, that they should bring to us ministers for the house of our God.

18 Según la bondadosa mano de nuestro ʼElohim sobre nosotros, nos trajeron a un varón entendido de los hijos de Mahli, descendiente de Leví, hijo de Israel, y a Serabías con sus hijos y sus hermanos: 18;

And by the good hand of our God upon us they brought us a man of understanding, of the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel; and Sherebiah, with his sons and his brethren, eighteen;

19 y a Hasabías y Jesaías, de los hijos de Merari, a sus hermanos y a sus hijos: 20;

And Hashabiah, and with him Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari, his brethren and their sons, twenty;

20 y de los servidores, a quienes David y los jefes destinaron para el servicio a los levitas, fueron 220 servidores del Templo, todos designados por nombres.

Also of the Nethinims, whom David and the princes had appointed for the service of the Levites, two hundred and twenty Nethinims: all of them were expressed by name.

21 Y allí, junto al río de Ahava, proclamé un ayuno para humillarnos delante de nuestro ʼElohim, a fin de suplicar de Él un buen viaje para nosotros, nuestros pequeños y también toda nuestra hacienda.

Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.

22 Tuve vergüenza de pedir infantería y caballería al rey para que nos protegiera del enemigo en el camino. Por tanto hablamos al rey: La mano de nuestro ʼElohim está a favor de todos los que lo buscan, pero su poder y su ira están contra todos los que lo abandonan.

For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken to the king, saying, The hand of our God [is] upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath [is] against all them that forsake him.

23 Ayunamos y pedimos a nuestro ʼElohim sobre esto, y Él atendió nuestro ruego.

So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was entreated by us.

24 Luego aparté a 12 de los principales entre los sacerdotes, a Serebías y Hasabías, y con ellos a diez de sus hermanos.

Then I separated twelve of the chief of the priests, Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their brethren with them,

25 Pesamos la plata, el oro y los utensilios sagrados delante de ellos. El rey, sus consejeros, sus jefes y los de Israel que estaban allí ofrecieron esta ofrenda para el Templo de nuestro ʼElohim.

And weighed to them the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, [even] the offering of the house of our God, which the king, and his counselors, and his lords, and all Israel [there] present, had offered:

26 Después yo pesé en mano de ellos 21,45 toneladas de plata, 3.300 toneladas en objetos de plata, 3,3 toneladas de oro,

I even weighed to their hand six hundred and fifty talents of silver, and silver vessels a hundred talents, [and] of gold a hundred talents;

27 20 tazones de oro por valor de 8 kilogramos y dos objetos de bronce reluciente, preciosos como el oro.

Also twenty basins of gold, of a thousand drams; and two vessels of fine copper, precious as gold.

28 Les dije: Ustedes están consagrados a Yavé, y los objetos son sagrados. La plata y el oro son ofrenda voluntaria para Yavé, el ʼElohim de sus antepasados.

And I said to them, Ye [are] holy to the LORD; the vessels [are] holy also; and the silver and the gold [are] a free-will-offering to the LORD God of your fathers.

29 Sean vigilantes y custódienlos hasta que los depositen en las cámaras del Templo de Yavé, delante de los principales sacerdotes y levitas, y de los jefes de las casas paternas de Israel en Jerusalén.

Watch ye, and keep [them], until ye weigh [them], before the chief of the priests and the Levites, and chief of the fathers of Israel, at Jerusalem, in the chambers of the house of the LORD.

30 De este modo los sacerdotes y levitas recibieron la plata y el oro por peso y los objetos para llevarlos al Templo de nuestro ʼElohim en Jerusalén.

So the priests and the Levites took the weight of the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, to bring [them] to Jerusalem to the house of our God.

31 Entonces salimos del río Ahava el 12 del mes primero para ir a Jerusalén. La mano de nuestro ʼElohim estaba sobre nosotros. Nos libró de la mano del enemigo y las emboscadas en el camino.

Then we departed from the river Ahava on the twelfth [day] of the first month, to go to Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in wait by the way.

32 Llegamos a Jerusalén y reposamos allí tres días.

And we came to Jerusalem, and abode there three days.

33 El cuarto día, la plata, el oro y los vasos del Templo de nuestro ʼElohim fueron entregados por peso a los levitas Meremot, hijo del sacerdote Urías, Eleazar, hijo de Finees, Jozabad, hijo de Jesuá, y Noadías, hijo de Binúi.

Now on the fourth day was the silver and the gold and the vessels weighed in the house of our God by the hand of Meremoth the son of Uriah the priest; and with him [was] Eleazar the son of Phinehas; and with them [was] Jozabad the son of Jeshua, and Noadiah the son of Binnui, Levites;

34 Todo fue contado por número y por peso. Todo fue escrito en esa ocasión.

By number [and] by weight of every one: and all the weight was written at that time.

35 Entonces los hijos del cautiverio que regresaron del exilio ofrecieron 12 becerros, 96 carneros, 76 corderos por todo Israel como holocaustos al ʼElohim de Israel. Como ofrenda por el pecado ofrecieron 12 machos cabríos, como holocausto a Yavé.

[Also] the children of those that had been carried away, who had come out of the captivity, offered burnt-offerings to the God of Israel, twelve bullocks for all Israel, ninety and six rams, seventy and seven lambs, twelve he-goats [for] a sin-offering: all [this was] a burnt-offering to the LORD.

36 Después entregaron los edictos del rey a los sátrapas del rey y a los gobernadores de Más Allá del Río, quienes favorecieron al pueblo y al Templo de ʼElohim.

And they delivered the king's commissions to the king's lieutenants, and to the governors on this side of the river: and they furthered the people, and the house of God.
