Ezequiel 16

1 La Palabra de Yavé vino a mí:

Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:

2 Hijo de hombre, denuncia las repugnancias de Jerusalén.

'Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,

3 ʼAdonay Yavé sobre Jerusalén dice: Tu origen, tu nacimiento fue cananeo. Tu padre fue amorreo y tu madre hetea.

and say: Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem: Thine origin and thy nativity is of the land of the Canaanite; the Amorite was thy father, and thy mother was a Hittite.

4 En cuanto a tu nacimiento, el día cuando naciste no fue cortado tu ombligo, ni fuiste lavada con agua para limpiarte, ni frotada con sal, ni envuelta en pañales.

And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water for cleansing; thou was not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.

5 No hubo ojo que tuviera compasión de ti para hacerte algo de esto, sino el día cuando naciste fuiste echada sobre la superficie del campo.

No eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field in the loathsomeness of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.

6 Pero Yo pasé junto a ti y vi que te revolcabas en tu propia sangre. Mientras estabas tendida en tu sangre, te dije: ¡Vive! Sí, cuando estabas en tu sangre, te dije: ¡Vive!

And when I passed by thee, and saw thee wallowing in thy blood, I said unto thee: In thy blood, live; yea, I said unto thee: In thy blood, live;

7 Te multipliqué como la hierba del campo. Creciste, llegaste a ser grande y muy hermosa. Tus pechos se formaron y tu cabello creció, pero estabas desnuda y descubierta.

I cause thee to increase, even as the growth of the field. And thou didst increase and grow up, and thou camest to excellent beauty: thy breasts were fashioned, and thy hair was grown; yet thou wast naked and bare.

8 Otra vez pasé junto a ti y te miré. Ciertamente era tu tiempo de amores. Extendí mi manto sobre ti y cubrí tu desnudez. Te di juramento y entré en Pacto contigo, dice ʼAdonay Yavé, y fuiste mía.

Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, and, behold, thy time was the time of love, I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness; yea, I swore unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest Mine.

9 Entonces te lavé con agua, te limpié la sangre de encima y te ungí con aceite.

Then washed I thee with water; yea, I cleansed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.

10 Luego te vestí con obra bordada, te calcé con sandalias de tejón, te até lino fino y te cubrí de seda.

I clothed thee also with richly woven work, and shod thee with sealskin, and I wound fine linen about thy head, and covered thee with silk.

11 Te adorné con joyas, puse brazaletes en tus brazos y un collar en tu cuello.

I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.

12 Te puse un pendiente en tu nariz, zarcillos en tus orejas y una diadema hermosa sobre tu cabeza.

And I put a ring upon thy nose, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thy head.

13 Fuiste adornada con oro y plata. Tu ropa era de lino fino, de seda y de obra bordada. Comiste flor de harina con miel y aceite. Fuiste bellísima y prosperaste hasta llegar a dignidad real.

Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and richly woven work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil; and thou didst wax exceeding beautiful, and thou wast meet for royal estate.

14 Tu fama salió entre las naciones a causa de tu belleza, la cual era perfecta como resultado de mi esplendor que Yo puse sobre ti, dice ʼAdonay Yavé.

And thy renown went forth among the nations for thy beauty; for it was perfect, through My splendour which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.

15 Pero confiaste en tu belleza. Te prostituiste a causa de tu fama y practicaste tus fornicaciones con todo el que pasaba. Eras de él.

But thou didst trust in thy beauty and play the harlot because of thy renown, and didst pour out thy harlotries on every one that passed by; his it was.

16 Tomaste algunas de tus ropas. Te hiciste lugares altos de diversos colores y fornicaste sobre ellos, cosas que no deben suceder ni jamás sucederán.

And thou didst take of thy garments, and didst make for thee high places decked with divers colours, and didst play the harlot upon them; the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.

17 También tomaste tus bellas joyas de oro y de plata que Yo te di. Te hiciste estatuas de varones y fornicaste con ellos.

Thou didst also take thy fair jewels of My gold and of My silver, which I had given thee, and madest for thee images of men, and didst play the harlot with them;

18 Tomaste tus ropas bordadas y los cubriste con ellas. Pusiste mi aceite y mi incienso delante de ellos.

and thou didst take thy richly woven garments and cover them, and didst set Mine oil and Mine incense before them.

19 También les serviste como olor grato el pan que te di, la flor de harina, el aceite y la miel con los cuales Yo te alimentaba. Así sucedió, dice ʼAdonay Yavé.

My bread also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou didst even set it before them for a sweet savour, and thus it was; saith the Lord GOD.

20 Además, tomaste tus hijos y tus hijas que me diste a luz, y los sacrificaste ante ellos para que fueran quemados. ¿Tus fornicaciones eran poca cosa

Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto Me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Were thy harlotries a small matter,

21 para que también degollaras a mis hijos y los ofrecieras a aquellas estatuas de varones como ofrenda que el fuego consumía?

that thou hast slain My children, and delivered them up, in setting them apart unto them?

22 En todas tus repugnancias y tus fornicaciones no te acordaste de los días de tu juventud, cuando estabas desnuda y descubierta, cuando estabas envuelta en tu sangre.

And in all thine abominations and thy harlotries thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast wallowing in thy blood.

23 Entonces sucedió, después de todas tus perversidades, ¡Ay, ay de ti! dice ʼAdonay Yavé,

And it came to pass after all thy wickedness — woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD —

24 que te edificaste un altar y te estableciste un lugar alto en cada plaza.

that thou hast built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee a lofty place in every street.

25 Te edificaste lugares altos en la esquina de cada calle. Convertiste tu hermosura en repugnancia. Abriste tus piernas a todo el que pasaba y multiplicaste tus prostituciones.

Thou hast built thy lofty place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty an abomination, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy harlotries.

26 Fornicaste con los egipcios, tus vecinos de gruesas carnes, y multiplicaste tus prostituciones para ofenderme.

Thou hast also played the harlot with the Egyptians, thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast multiplied thy harlotry, to provoke Me.

27 Por tanto ciertamente Yo extendí contra ti mi mano. Disminuí tu provisión y te entregué a la voluntad de las hijas de los filisteos, quienes te aborrecen y se avergüenzan de tu perversa conducta.

Behold, therefore I have stretched out My hand over thee, and have diminished thine allowance, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, that are ashamed of thy lewd way.

28 También, porque eres insaciable, te prostituiste con los asirios. Sí, fornicaste con ellos. Tampoco te saciaste.

Thou hast played the harlot also with the Assyrians, without having enough; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet thou wast not satisfied.

29 También multiplicaste tus prostituciones hasta la tierra de los caldeos. Tampoco con esto te saciaste.

Thou hast moreover multiplied thy harlotry with the land of traffic, even with Chaldea; and yet thou didst not have enough herewith.

30 ¡Cuán inconstante es tu corazón, dice ʼAdonay Yavé, al hacer todas estas cosas, obras de una prostituta desvergonzada

How weak is thy heart, saith the Lord GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of a wanton harlot;

31 que edificó su casa de prostitución en la esquina de cada calle, e hizo su lugar alto en cada plaza! Y no fuiste igual a una prostituta, porque no cobrabas la paga de tu prostitución.

in that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thy lofty place in every street; and hast not been as a harlot that enhanceth her hire.

32 ¡Esposa adúltera, que en vez de recibir a su esposo, recibe a extraños!

Thou wife that committest adultery, that takest strangers instead of thy husband —

33 A todas las prostitutas les dan regalos, pero tú diste regalos a todos tus amantes. Les diste regalos y los sobornaste para que de todos lados llegaran a unirse contigo en tus prostituciones.

to all harlots gifts are given; but thou hast given thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hast bribed them to come unto thee from every side in thy harlotries.

34 Y sucedió contigo en tus prostituciones lo contrario de lo que sucede a otras mujeres, porque ninguno te solicitó para fornicar. Tú diste la paga en vez de recibirla. En esto fuiste diferente.

And the contrary is in thee from other women, in that thou didst solicit to harlotry, and wast not solicited; and in that thou givest hire, and no hire is given unto thee, thus thou art contrary.

35 Por tanto oh prostituta, oye la Palabra de Yavé.

Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD!

36 ʼAdonay Yavé dice: Por cuanto tu inmundicia fue derramada y descubierta tu desnudez por tus fornicaciones con tus amantes y por todos los ídolos de tus repugnantes prácticas, porque les ofreciste la sangre de tus hijos,

Thus saith the Lord GOD: Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness uncovered through thy harlotries with thy lovers; and because of all the idols of thy abominations, and for the blood of thy children, that thou didst give unto them;

37 por tanto, ciertamente reuniré a todos tus amantes con los cuales te gozaste, tanto a los que amaste como a los que aborreciste. Los reuniré contra ti de todas partes y descubriré tu desnudez ante ellos, para que observen toda tu desnudez.

therefore behold, I will gather all thy lovers, unto whom thou hast been pleasant, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them against thee from every side, and will uncover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.

38 Te juzgaré como son juzgadas las adúlteras y las homicidas, y descargaré sobre ti la sangre del furor y de los celos.

And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will bring upon thee the blood of fury and jealousy.

39 También te entregaré en manos de tus amantes. Destruirán tus lugares altos y derribarán tus altares. Te despojarán de tu ropa, se llevarán tus hermosas joyas y te dejarán desnuda y descubierta.

I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and break down thy lofty places; and they shall strip thee of thy clothes, and take thy fair jewels; and they shall leave thee naked and bare.

40 Ellos incitarán contra ti a una multitud, quienes te apedrearán. Te destrozarán con sus espadas.

They shall also bring up an assembly against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.

41 Destruirán tus casas con fuego. Ejecutarán juicios sobre ti a la vista de muchas mujeres. Entonces detendré tu prostitución. Tampoco volverás a pagar a tus amantes.

And they shall burn thy houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women; and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou shalt also give no hire any more.

42 De este modo calmaré mi furor contra ti. Mi celo se apartará de ti y me aplacaré. No me airaré más.

So will I satisfy My fury upon thee, and My jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.

43 Porque no recordaste los días de tu juventud, y me provocaste a ira con todas estas cosas, ciertamente Yo también traeré tu conducta sobre tu cabeza, dice ʼAdonay Yavé. No cometerás perversidad además de todas tus repugnancias.

Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted Me in all these things; lo, therefore I also will bring thy way upon thy head, saith the Lord GOD; or hast thou not committed this lewdness above all thine abominations?

44 Ciertamente todo el que cite dichos te aplicará a ti éste: ¡De tal madre, tal hija!

Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying: As the mother, so her daughter.

45 Hija eres de tu madre, que aborreció a su esposo y a sus hijos. Hermana eres de tus hermanas, que aborrecieron a sus esposos y a sus hijos. Tu madre fue hetea y tu padre amorreo.

Thou art thy mother's daughter, that loatheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, who loathed their husbands and their children; your mother was a Hittite, and your father an Amorite.

46 Tu hermana mayor es Samaria, quien vive con sus hijas a tu derecha, y tu hermana menor que está a tu derecha es Sodoma con sus hijas.

And thine elder sister is Samaria, that dwelleth at thy left hand, she and her daughters; and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.

47 No solo seguiste sus caminos e imitaste sus repugnancias, sino como si eso fuera poco, te corrompiste más que ellas en todos tus caminos.

Yet hast thou not walked in their ways, nor done after their abominations; but in a very little while thou didst deal more corruptly than they in all thy ways.

48 Vivo Yo, dice ʼAdonay Yavé, que tu hermana Sodoma con sus hijas no hicieron lo que hiciste tú y tus hijas.

As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.

49 Mira, éste fue el delito de tu hermana Sodoma: ella y sus hijas tuvieron orgullo, saciedad de pan y gran ociosidad, pero no extendió la mano al pobre y al necesitado.

Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom: pride, fulness of bread, and careless ease was in her and in her daughters; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

50 Se llenaron de orgullo delante de Mí. Cometieron repugnancia delante de Mí. Cuando lo vi, la quité.

And they were haughty, and committed abomination before Me; therefore I removed them when I saw it.

51 Pero Samaria no cometió ni la mitad de tus pecados, porque tú multiplicaste tus repugnancias más que ellas. Así, con todas las repugnancias que cometiste, lograste que tus hermanas parezcan justas.

Neither hath Samaria committed even half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters by all thine abominations which thou hast done.

52 Tú, que juzgaste a tus hermanas, lleva también tu propia vergüenza, porque con tus pecados que cometiste fuiste más repugnante que ellas. Lograste que ellas parezcan más justas que tú.

Thou also, bear thine own shame, in that thou hast given judgment for thy sisters; through thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they, they are more righteous than thou; yea, be thou also confounded, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.

53 Pero Yo cambiaré su cautividad, la cautividad de Sodoma y sus hijas y la cautividad de Samaria y sus hijas. Y devolveré a ellas los cautivos de tu cautividad,

And I will turn their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, and the captivity of thy captives in the midst of them;

54 para que lleves tu afrenta, te avergüences de todo lo que hiciste y así las consueles.

that thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be ashamed because of all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them.

55 Tus hermanas, Sodoma con sus hijas y Samaria con sus hijas, volverán a su estado antiguo. También tú y tus hijas volverán al primer estado.

And thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, and thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.

56 Tu hermana Sodoma no era digna de mención en tus labios en el tiempo de tu orgullo,

For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride;

57 antes que tu perversidad fuera descubierta. Así también ahora eres el reproche de las hijas de Edom y de todas las hijas de los filisteos, las cuales te desprecian por todas partes.

before thy wickedness was uncovered, as at the time of the taunt of the daughters of Aram, and of all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, that have thee in disdain round about.

58 Sufre tú el castigo de tu perversidad y de tus repugnancias, dice Yavé.

Thou hast borne thy lewdness and thine abominations, saith the LORD.

59 Porque ʼAdonay Yavé dice: ¿Haré contigo como tú hiciste conmigo, que despreciaste el juramento para invalidar el Pacto?

For thus saith the Lord GOD: I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, who hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.

60 Sin embargo, Yo recordaré mi Pacto que concerté contigo en los días de tu juventud y estableceré contigo un Pacto sempiterno.

Nevertheless I will remember My covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.

61 Entonces tú te acordarás de tu camino. Te avergonzarás cuando recibas a tus hermanas, la mayor y la menor que tú, a quienes Yo te las daré como hijas. Pero no por causa de tu pacto,

Then shalt thou remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder sisters and thy younger; and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not because of thy covenant.

62 sino del Pacto que Yo estableceré contigo. Y sabrás que Yo soy Yavé,

And I will establish My covenant with thee, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD;

63 para que te acuerdes, te avergüences y no vuelvas a abrir tu boca de vergüenza cuando Yo te perdone todo lo que hiciste, dice ʼAdonay Yavé.

that thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more, because of thy shame; when I have forgiven thee all that thou hast done, saith the Lord GOD.'
