Éxodo 14
1 Yavé habló a Moisés:
Then the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
2 Dí a los hijos de Israel que regresen y acampen delante de Pi-hahirot, entre Migdol y el mar, delante de Baal-zefón. Frente a él acamparán junto al mar,
Speake to the children of Israel, that they returne and campe before Pi-hahiroth, betweene Migdol and the Sea, ouer against Baal-zephon: about it shall ye campe by the Sea.
3 porque Faraón dirá de los hijos de Israel: Ellos están vagando sin rumbo cierto en el país. El desierto los encerró.
For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are tangled in the land: the wildernesse hath shut them in.
4 Yo endureceré el corazón de Faraón y los perseguirá. Yo seré glorificado por medio de Faraón y de todo su ejército, y los egipcios entenderán que Yo soy Yavé. Y ellos hicieron así.
And I will harden Pharaohs heart that hee shall follow after you: so I will get mee honour vpon Pharaoh, and vpon all his hoste: the Egyptians also shall knowe that I am the Lord: and they did so.
5 Cuando se le informó al rey de Egipto que el pueblo huyó, el corazón de Faraón y el de sus esclavos se mudó contra el pueblo, y dijeron: ¿Qué es esto que hicimos? ¿Por qué dejamos salir a Israel de nuestra esclavitud?
Then it was told the King of Egypt, that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his seruants was turned against the people, and they sayde, Why haue we this done, and haue let Israel go out of our seruice?
6 Entonces aparejó su carroza, tomó consigo a su pueblo
And he made ready his charets, and tooke his people with him,
7 y tomó 600 carruajes escogidos y todos los carruajes de Egipto con capitanes sobre todos ellos.
And tooke sixe hundreth chosen charets, and all the charets of Egypt, and captaines ouer euery one of them.
8 Yavé endureció el corazón de Faraón, rey de Egipto, quien persiguió a los hijos de Israel. Pero los hijos de Israel salieron con atrevimiento.
(For the Lord had hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he followed after the children of Israel: but the children of Israel went out with an hie hand)
9 Los egipcios los persiguieron con todos los caballos y carruajes de Faraón, con sus jinetes y su ejército. Los alcanzaron mientras acampaban junto al mar, al lado de Pi-hahirot, frente a Baal-zefón.
And the Egyptians pursued after them, and all the horses and charets of Pharaoh, and his horsemen and his hoste ouertooke them camping by the Sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, before Baal-zephon.
10 Cuando Faraón se acercó, los hijos de Israel levantaron sus ojos, y ciertamente los egipcios marchaban tras ellos. Y ellos temieron muchísimo, así que los hijos de Israel clamaron a Yavé.
And when Pharaoh drew nie, the children of Israel lift vp their eyes, and beholde, the Egyptians marched after them, and they were sore afrayde: wherefore the children of Israel cried vnto the Lord.
11 Y dijeron a Moisés: ¿Nos sacaste para que muriéramos en el desierto porque no había sepulcros en Egipto? ¿Qué es esto que nos hiciste al sacarnos de Egipto?
And they sayde vnto Moses, Hast thou brought vs to die in the wildernes, because there were no graues in Egypt? wherefore hast thou serued vs thus, to carie vs out of Egypt?
12 ¿No es esta la palabra que te hablamos en Egipto: Déjanos que sirvamos como esclavos a los egipcios? Porque sería mejor para nosotros servir como esclavos de los egipcios que morir en el desierto.
Did not wee tell thee this thing in Egypt, saying, Let vs be in rest, that we may serue the Egyptians? for it had bene better for vs to serue the Egyptians, then that wee shoulde dye in the wildernesse.
13 Pero Moisés respondió al pueblo: ¡No teman! ¡Estén firmes y vean la salvación que Yavé hará hoy por ustedes, porque los egipcios que ustedes vieron hoy, no los volverán a ver jamás!
Then Moses sayde to the people, Feare ye not, stand still, and beholde the saluation of the Lord which he will shew to you this day. For the Egyptians, whome ye haue seene this day, ye shall neuer see them againe.
14 Yavé luchará por ustedes, y ustedes estén quietos.
The Lord shall fight for you: therefore hold you your peace.
15 Entonces Yavé dijo a Moisés: ¿Por qué clamas a Mí? ¡Di a los hijos de Israel que sigan adelante!
And the Lord sayd vnto Moses, Wherefore cryest thou vnto me? speake vnto the children of Israel that they go forward:
16 Y tú, ¡levanta tu vara, extiende tu mano sobre el mar y divídelo, y los hijos de Israel pasarán por en medio del mar en lo seco!
And lift thou vp thy rod, and stretche out thine hand vpon the Sea and deuide it, and let the children of Israel goe on drie ground thorow the middes of the Sea.
17 Yo ciertamente endureceré el corazón de los egipcios para que entren tras ellos, y seré glorificado en Faraón, en todo su ejército, sus carruajes y sus jinetes.
And I, beholde, I will harden the heart of the Egyptians, that they may follow them, and I wil get me honour vpon Pharaoh, and vpon all his host, vpon his charets, and vpon his horsemen.
18 Cuando sea glorificado en Faraón, sus carruajes y sus jinetes, los egipcios entenderán que Yo soy Yavé.
Then the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I haue gotten me honour vpon Pharaoh, vpon his charets, and vpon his horsemen.
19 Entonces el Ángel de ʼElohim, Quien iba adelante del campamento de Israel, se colocó detrás de ellos. La columna de nube se movió de adelante de ellos y se puso detrás de ellos,
(And the Angel of God, which went before the hoste of Israel, remoued and went behinde them: also the pillar of the cloude went from before them, and stoode behinde them,
20 e iba entre el campamento de Egipto y el de Israel. Era nube y oscuridad [para Egipto], pero iluminaba la noche [para Israel]. No se acercó el uno al otro en toda la noche.
And came betweene the campe of the Egyptians and the campe of Israel: it was both a cloude and darkenes, yet gaue it light by night, so that all the night long the one came not at the other)
21 Entonces Moisés extendió su mano hacia el mar, y Yavé hizo que el mar se retirara por medio de un recio viento del este toda la noche. Las aguas fueron divididas, y el mar se volvió tierra seca.
And Moses stretched forth his hande vpon the Sea, and the Lord caused the sea to runne backe by a strong East winde all the night, and made the Sea dry land: for the waters were deuided.
22 Así que los hijos de Israel pasaron en medio del mar sobre tierra seca. Las aguas eran un muro para ellos a su mano derecha y a su izquierda.
Then the children of Israel went through the middes of the Sea vpon the drie ground, and the waters were a wall vnto them on their right hand, and on their left hand.
23 Los egipcios continuaron la persecución. Toda la caballería de Faraón, sus carruajes y sus jinetes entraron tras ellos en medio del mar.
And the Egyptians pursued and went after them to the middes of the Sea, euen all Pharaohs horses, his charets, and his horsemen.
24 Pero en la vigilia del alba, aconteció que Yavé miró desde la columna de fuego y nube al campamento de los egipcios, y lo trastornó.
Nowe in the morning watche, when the Lord looked vnto the hoste of the Egyptians, out of the firie and cloudie pillar, he strooke the host of the Egyptians with feare.
25 Quitó las ruedas de sus carruajes, de modo que los conducían con dificultad. Por tanto los egipcios dijeron: ¡Huyamos de Israel, porque Yavé pelea por ellos contra los egipcios!
For he tooke off their charet wheeles, and they draue them with much a doe: so that the Egyptians euery one sayd, I wil flee from the face of Israel: for the Lord fighteth for them against the Egyptians.
26 Entonces Yavé dijo a Moisés: ¡Extiende tu mano sobre el mar, y que las aguas se vuelvan sobre los egipcios, sus carruajes y sus jinetes!
Then the Lord sayde to Moses, Stretche thine hand vpon the Sea, that the waters may returne vpon the Egyptians, vpon their charets and vpon their horsemen.
27 Moisés extendió su mano sobre el mar. Al amanecer el mar se volvió a su estado normal, y los egipcios chocaron con él cuando huían. Así Yavé trastornó a los egipcios en medio del mar.
Then Moses stretched forth his hand vpon the Sea, and the Sea returned to his force early in the morning, and the Egyptians fled against it: but the Lord ouerthrew the Egyptians in the mids of the Sea.
28 Las aguas regresaron y cubrieron los carruajes, los jinetes y todo el ejército de Faraón que entró tras ellos en el mar. No quedó ni uno de ellos.
So the water returned and couered the charets and the horsemen, euen all the hoste of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them: there remained not one of them.
29 Sin embargo, los hijos de Israel anduvieron en tierra seca en medio del mar, y las aguas les fueron un muro a su mano derecha y a su izquierda.
But the children of Israel walked vpon dry land thorowe the middes of the Sea, and the waters were a wall vnto them on their right hande, and on their left.
30 Así Yavé salvó a Israel de mano de los egipcios aquel día, e Israel vio a los egipcios muertos a la orilla del mar.
Thus the Lord saued Israel the same day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel sawe the Egyptians dead vpon the Sea banke.
31 Cuando Israel vio el gran poder que Yavé usó contra los egipcios, el pueblo temió a Yavé, y creyeron en Yavé y en su esclavo Moisés.
And Israel saw the mightie power, which the Lord shewed vpon the Egyptians: so the people feared the Lord, and beleeued the Lord, and his seruant Moses.
