Deuteronomio 23

1 No entrará en la congregación de Yavé el que tenga magullados los testículos o amputado su miembro viril.

He that is a eunuch, whether he have been crushed or cut, shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah.

2 Ningún hijo ilegítimo entrará en la congregación de Yavé. No entrarán sus descendientes en la congregación de Yavé hasta la décima generación.

A bastard shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah; even his tenth generation shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah.

3 No entrará amonita ni moabita en la congregación de Yavé, ni aun en la décima generación. Nunca entrarán en la congregación de Yavé,

An Ammonite or Moabite shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah; even their tenth generation shall not come into the congregation of Jehovah for ever;

4 porque cuando ustedes subieron de Egipto, no salieron al camino a recibirlos con pan y agua, y porque alquilaron contra ti a Balaam, hijo de Beor, de Petor, de Mesopotamia para maldecirte.

because they met you not with bread and with water on the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt, and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor, of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.

5 Pero Yavé tu ʼElohim no quiso escuchar a Balaam, sino Yavé tu ʼElohim te convirtió la maldición en bendición, porque Yavé tu ʼElohim te amaba.

But Jehovah thy God would not listen to Balaam; and Jehovah thy God turned the curse into blessing unto thee, because Jehovah thy God loved thee.

6 Nunca procurarás su paz ni su bienestar en todos tus días.

Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.

7 No repugnarás al edomita, pues es tu hermano. No repugnarás al egipcio, porque fuiste extranjero en su tierra.

Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother. Thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a sojourner in his land.

8 Los hijos que les nazcan podrán entrar en la congregación de Yavé en la tercera generación.

Children that are born to them shall come into the congregation of Jehovah in the third generation.

9 Cuando salgas a campaña contra tus enemigos, cuídate de toda cosa mala.

When thou goest forth into camp against thine enemies, then keep thee from every evil thing.

10 Si hay alguno entre ustedes que está impuro a causa de una emisión nocturna tiene que salir del campamento, no puede volver a entrar en él.

If there be with thee a man that is not clean from what hath happened in the night, then shall he go outside the camp; he shall not come inside the camp;

11 Pero al llegar la noche, cuando se oculta el sol, se lavará con agua y podrá entrar al campamento.

and it shall be, towards evening, he shall bathe in water: and at the going down of the sun he may come inside the camp.

12 Tendrás un lugar fuera del campamento y saldrás allí,

Thou shalt have a place also outside the camp, and shalt go forth thither.

13 y entre tus utensilios tendrás una pala, antes de acuclillarte afuera, cavarás con ella, luego te volverás y cubrirás tu excremento.

And thou shalt have a shovel amongst thy weapons, and it shall be, when thou sittest down abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which is come from thee.

14 Porque Yavé tu ʼElohim anda en medio de tu campamento para librarte y entregar a tus enemigos delante de ti. Por tanto, tu campamento debe ser santo para que Él no vea en ti impureza, y se aparte de ti.

For Jehovah thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; and thy camp shall be holy, that he see nothing unseemly with thee, and turn away from thee.

15 No entregarás a su ʼadón el esclavo que acude a ti al huir de él.

Thou shalt not hand over to his master a bondman that hath escaped from his master unto thee:

16 Vivirá contigo en medio de ti, en el lugar que escoja en alguna de tus ciudades que le parezca bien. No lo oprimirás.

he shall dwell with thee, even in thy midst, in the place that he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it seemeth good to him; thou shalt not oppress him.

17 No habrá prostitutas sagradas ni prostitutos sagrados entre los hijos de Israel.

There shall be no prostitute amongst the daughters of Israel, nor any Sodomite amongst the sons of Israel.

18 No llevarás como voto el salario de una prostituta ni de un prostituto a la Casa de Yavé tu ʼElohim, porque ambos son repugnancia a Yavé tu ʼElohim.

Thou shalt not bring the hire of a harlot, or the price of a dog, into the house of Jehovah thy God for any vow; for even both these are an abomination to Jehovah thy God.

19 No cobrarás interés a tu hermano por dinero, por comida, ni por cualquier cosa por la cual se pueda cobrar interés.

Thou shalt take no interest of thy brother, interest of money, interest of victuals, interest of anything that can be lent upon interest:

20 Al extranjero podrás cobrar interés, pero a tu hermano no le cobrarás, para que Yavé tu ʼElohim te bendiga en toda obra de tus manos en la tierra donde vas para tomar posesión de ella.

of a foreigner thou mayest take interest, but of thy brother thou shalt not take interest; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the business of thy hand in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

21 Cuando hagas algún voto a Yavé tu ʼElohim, no tardes en cumplirlo, porque ciertamente Yavé tu ʼElohim te lo demandará y será pecado para ti.

When thou vowest a vow to Jehovah thy God, thou shalt not delay to perform it; for Jehovah thy God will certainly require it of thee, and it shall be sin in thee.

22 Pero si te abstienes de hacer un voto, esto no será pecado en ti.

But if thou forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.

23 Sin embargo lo que salga de tus labios, lo guardarás y lo cumplirás. Conforme prometiste a Yavé tu ʼElohim, pagarás la ofrenda voluntaria que prometiste con tu boca.

What is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and do, as thou hast vowed to Jehovah thy God, the voluntary-offering that thou hast promised with thy mouth.

24 Cuando entres en la viña de tu prójimo, podrás comer las uvas que desees hasta saciarte, pero no las pondrás en tu cesta.

When thou comest into thy neighbour's vineyard, thou mayest eat grapes thy fill, according to thy desire, but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.

25 Cuando entres en el trigal de tu prójimo, podrás arrancar espigas con la mano, pero no meterás la hoz en el trigal de tu prójimo.

When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, thou mayest pluck ears with thy hand; but thou shalt not wave the sickle against thy neighbour's standing corn.
