Deuteronomio 14
1 Ustedes son hijos de Yavé su ʼElohim. No sajarán sus cuerpos ni se rasurarán la frente de sus cabezas por causa de un muerto,
Ye are the children of Yhwh your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.
2 porque eres un pueblo santo para Yavé tu ʼElohim. Yavé te escogió de entre todos los pueblos que hay sobre la superficie de la tierra para que le seas un pueblo especial.
For thou art an holy people unto Yhwh thy God, And Yhwh hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.
3 Nada repugnante comerás.
Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.
4 Estos son los animales que pueden comer: el buey, la oveja, la cabra,
These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,
5 el venado, la gacela, el corzo, la cabra montés, el íbice, el antílope y la gamuza.
The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois.
6 De los animales rumiantes pueden comer todo animal de pezuña hendida, cuya hendidura divida el casco en dos pezuñas.
And every beast that parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, and cheweth the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat.
7 Sin embargo, de entre los rumiantes y de entre los que tienen pezuña hendida, no comerán el camello, ni la liebre, ni el conejo, porque rumian, pero no tienen pezuña hendida. Les serán impuros.
Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you.
8 Tampoco el cerdo, porque tiene pezuña hendida pero no rumia. Les será impuro. De la carne de éstos no comerán, ni tocarán sus cuerpos muertos.
And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.
9 De todos los que están en el agua pueden comer todo lo que tiene aletas y escamas.
These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:
10 Pero todo lo que no tiene aletas y escamas, no lo comerán. Les será impuro.
And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.
11 Comerán toda ave pura.
Of all clean birds ye shall eat.
12 Éstas son las aves que no comerán: el águila, el quebrantahuesos, el azor,
But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
13 el buitre, el halcón y el milano, según su especie,
And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind,
14 todo cuervo, según su especie,
And every raven after his kind,
15 el avestruz, la lechuza, la gaviota y el gavilán, según sus especies,
And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
16 el búho, la ibis y el cisne,
The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,
17 el pelícano, el cuervo marino, el somormujo,
And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant,
18 la cigüeña y la garza, según sus especies, la abubilla y el murciélago.
And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
19 Todo insecto alado les será impuro. No se comerá.
And every creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten.
20 Podrán comer toda ave pura.
But of all clean fowls ye may eat.
21 Ningún animal mortecino comerán. Lo podrás dar al extranjero que está en tus ciudades. Él podrá comerlo o venderlo al extranjero. Porque tú eres un pueblo santo para Yavé tu ʼElohim. No cocinarás el cabrito en la leche de su madre.
Ye shall not eat of any thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto Yhwh thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk.
22 Diezmarás fielmente todo el producto de lo que siembras, que viene del campo cada año.
Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
23 Comerás delante de Yavé tu ʼElohim el diezmo de tu grano, tu vino y tu aceite, y las primicias de tu manada de ganado vacuno y tu rebaño en el lugar que Él escoja para que esté allí su Nombre a fin de que aprendas a temer a Yavé tu ʼElohim todos los días.
And thou shalt eat before Yhwh thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy grain, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear Yhwh thy God always.
24 Si la distancia es tan grande que tú no puedes llevarlo, por estar lejos de ti el lugar que Yavé tu ʼElohim escogió para que esté allí su Nombre cuando Yavé tu ʼElohim te bendiga,
And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which Yhwh thy God shall choose to set his name there, when Yhwh thy God hath blessed thee:
25 lo venderás por dinero. Tomarás ese dinero, irás al lugar que Yavé tu ʼElohim escoja
Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which Yhwh thy God shall choose:
26 y comprarás con ese dinero todo lo que desees: becerros, ovejas, vino, licor y todo lo que desees. Allí comerás delante de Yavé tu ʼElohim, y tú y tu familia se regocijarán.
And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul desires, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before Yhwh thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
27 No abandonarás al levita que esté en tus ciudades, pues no posee porción ni herencia contigo.
And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.
28 Al final de cada tercer año apartarás el diezmo de todos tus productos de aquel año, y lo guardarás en tus ciudades.
At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
29 Vendrá el levita, que no tiene porción ni herencia contigo, y el extranjero, el huérfano y la viuda que estén en tus ciudades. Comerán y se saciarán, para que Yavé tu ʼElohim te bendiga en toda obra que hagan tus manos.
And the Levite, ( because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee, ) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that Yhwh thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.
