Amós 5
1 Escuchen la palabra que pronuncio como lamento por ustedes, oh Casa de Israel:
Hear the word this which I [am] lifting up on you a lamentation O house of Israel.
2 La virgen de Israel cayó para no levantarse. Está tendido y abandonado su cuerpo. No hay quien la levante.
She has fallen not she will repeat to rise [the] virgin of Israel she has been abandoned on own land her there not [is one who] raises up her.
3 ʼAdonay Yavé dice a la Casa de Israel: La ciudad que salía con 1.000, queda con 100, y la que salía con 100, queda con diez.
For thus he says [the] Lord Yahweh the city which goes out a thousand it will have left a hundred and which goes out a hundred it will have left ten of [the] house of Israel.
4 Yavé dice a la Casa de Israel: Búsquenme y vivirán.
For thus he says Yahweh to [the] house of Israel seek me and live.
5 No busquen a Bet-ʼEl, ni vayan a Gilgal, ni pasen a Beerseba, porque Gilgal ciertamente irá en cautiverio y Bet-ʼEl será reducida a escombro.
And may not you seek Beth-el and Gilgal not you must go and Beer Sheba not you must pass over for Gilgal certainly it will go into exile and Beth-el it will become trouble.
6 Busquen a Yavé para que vivan, no sea que Él acometa con fuego la casa de José, y nadie esté en Bet-ʼEl para apagarlo.
Seek Yahweh and live lest he should rush like fire [the] house of Joseph and it will consume and not [one who] extinguishes [it] [will belong] to Beth-el.
7 Ustedes los que convierten el juicio en ajenjo y lanzan a tierra la justicia,
O those [who] turn into wormwood justice and righteousness to the ground they thrust down.
8 [busquen] al que creó las Pléyades y Orión, que cambia en mañana la oscuridad y oscurece el día como la noche, al que llama a las aguas del mar y las derrama sobre la superficie de la tierra. Yavé es su Nombre,
[the] maker of Pleiades and Orion and [the one who] turns into morning deep darkness and day night he makes dark the [one who] summons [the] waters of the sea and he poured out them on [the] surface of the earth [is] Yahweh name his.
9 Quien irrumpe con destrucción repentina caiga contra la fortaleza para que la destruya.
The [who] causes to flash devastation on [the] strong and devastation on a fortress it will come.
10 Ellos aborrecen al que amonesta en la puerta y repugnan al que habla rectamente.
They hate in the gate [one who] reproves and [one who] speaks blameless they abhor.
11 Por tanto, porque ustedes pisotean al pobre y reciben el tributo de sus granos, aunque edifiquen casas de piedra labrada, no vivirán en ellas. Aunque planten hermosas viñas no beberán su vino.
Therefore because trample you on [the] poor and a portion of grain you take from him houses of hewn [stone] you have built and not you will dwell in them vineyards of delight you have planted and not you will drink wine their.
12 Yo conozco bien sus numerosas rebeliones y sus grandes pecados: Oprimen al justo, reciben soborno y atropellan a los pobres en la puerta.
For I know many transgressions your and numerous sins your O opposers of [the] righteous O takers of ransom and needy [people] in the gate they turn aside.
13 Por tanto, el prudente calla en ese tiempo, porque es tiempo peligroso.
Therefore the prudent [person] at the time that he will be silent for [is] a time evil it.
14 ¡Busquen el bien y no el mal, y vivirán. Yavé, ʼElohim de las huestes, estará con ustedes, tal como ustedes dicen!
Seek good and may not [it be] evil so that you will live and it may be thus Yahweh God of hosts [will be] with you just as you have said.
15 Aborrezcan el mal, amen el bien y afirmen la justicia en la puerta. Tal vez Yavé, ʼElohim de las huestes, tenga compasión del remanente de José.
Hate evil and love good and set up in the gate justice perhaps he will show favor to Yahweh God of hosts [the] remnant of Joseph.
16 ʼAdonay Yavé, ʼElohim de las huestes dice: En todas las plazas habrá llanto y en todas las calles dirán: ¡Ay! ¡Ay! Y llamarán al labrador a duelo y a lamentación a los que saben lamentar.
Therefore thus he says Yahweh God of hosts [the] Lord [will be] in all [the] open places wailing and in all [the] streets people will say alas! alas! and people will call a farmer to mourning and wailing to [those who] know lamentation.
17 En todas las viñas habrá llanto, porque pasaré entre ustedes, dice Yavé.
And [will be] in all [the] vineyards wailing for I will pass in midst your he says Yahweh.
18 ¡Ay de los que anhelan el día de Yavé! ¿Para qué desean este día de Yavé? Será de tinieblas y no de luz,
Woe to! those [who] desire [the] day of Yahweh why? this to you [the] day of Yahweh it [will be] darkness and not light.
19 como cuando uno huye del león y choca con un oso. O al entrar en su casa, apoya la mano en la pared y lo muerde una serpiente.
Just as he flees someone from before the lion and it meets him the bear and he goes the house and he leans hand his on the wall and it bites him the snake.
20 ¿No será el día de Yavé oscuridad y no luz? ¿Muy oscuro, sin resplandor?
¿ Not [be] darkness [will] [the] day of Yahweh and not light and gloomy and not brightness [will belong] to it.
21 ¡Aborrezco, repugno sus solemnidades! ¡Sus asambleas no me son olor grato!
I hate I reject feasts your and not I delight in assemblies your.
22 Aunque me ofrezcan holocaustos y ofrendas vegetales, no las aceptaré, ni miraré sus sacrificios de paz con animales engordados.
That except you will offer up to me burnt offerings and grain offerings your not I will accept [them] and [the] peace offering of fatlings your not I will pay attention to.
23 Retiren el bullicio de los cánticos de mi Presencia. No quiero escuchar el sonido de tus arpas.
Remove from with me [the] noise of songs your and [the] music of lyres your not I will listen to.
24 Pero fluya la justicia como las aguas, y la equidad como arroyo perenne.
And it may roll on like water justice and righteousness like a wadi ever-flowing.
25 ¿Me ofrecieron sacrificios y ofrendas en el desierto durante 40 años, oh Casa de Israel?
¿ Sacrifices and grain offering[s] did you bring near to me in the wilderness forty year[s] O house of Israel.
26 Más bien, llevaron a Sicut, su rey, y a Quiún, la estrella de sus ʼelohim que hicieron para ustedes.
And you will lift up Sikkuth king your and Kiyyun images your [the] star of gods your which you made for yourselves.
27 Por tanto, promoveré que los deporten más allá de Damasco, dice Yavé, cuyo Nombre es ʼElohim de las huestes.
And I will send into exile you from beyond Damascus he says [is] Yahweh God of hosts name his.
