Hechos 15
1 Pero algunos que bajaron de Judea enseñaban a los hermanos: Si no son circuncidados según el rito de Moisés, no pueden ser salvos.
And certain having come down from Judea, were teaching the brothers, “If you are not circumcised after the custom of Moses, you are not able to be saved”;
2 Sucedió una gran disensión y controversia de parte de Pablo y Bernabé contra ellos. Determinaron que Pablo, Bernabé y algunos otros de ellos subieran a Jerusalén a los apóstoles y ancianos [para hablar] con respecto a esta cuestión.
there having been, therefore, not a little dissension and debate to Paul and Barnabas with them, they arranged for Paul and Barnabas, and certain others of them, to go up to the apostles and elders to Jerusalem about this question;
3 Recibieron provisiones de la iglesia para el viaje. Pasaron por Fenicia y Samaria. Relataban en detalle la conversión de los gentiles, y eran causa de gran gozo para todos los hermanos.
they indeed, then, having been sent forward by the assembly, were passing through Phoenicia and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the nations, and they were causing great joy to all the brothers.
4 Al llegar a Jerusalén, la iglesia, los apóstoles y los ancianos los recibieron. [Los misioneros ]informaron lo que Dios hizo con ellos.
And having come to Jerusalem, they were received by the assembly, and the apostles, and the elders; they also declared as many things as God did with them;
5 Pero algunos de la secta de los fariseos que habían creído dijeron: Es necesario circuncidarlos y mandarles que guarden la Ley de Moisés.
and there rose up certain of those of the sect of the Pharisees who believed, saying, “It is required to circumcise them, to command them also to keep the Law of Moses.”
6 Los apóstoles y los ancianos se reunieron para considerar este asunto.
And there were gathered together the apostles and the elders, to see about this matter,
7 Después de discutirlo mucho, Pedro se puso en pie y dijo: Varones hermanos, ustedes saben que desde los primeros días, Dios me escogió de entre ustedes para llevar la Palabra de las Buenas Noticias a fin de que los gentiles creyeran.
and there having been much disputing, Peter having risen up said to them, “Men, brothers, you know that from former days God made choice among us, through my mouth, for the nations to hear the word of the good news, and to believe;
8 Dios, Quien conoce los corazones, al derramar sobre ellos el Espíritu Santo, les dio testimonio también como a nosotros.
and the heart-knowing God bore them testimony, having given to them the Holy Spirit, even as also to us,
9 Al purificar sus corazones por la fe, ninguna distinción hizo entre nosotros y ellos.
and also put no difference between us and them, having purified their hearts by faith;
10 Ahora, pues, ¿por qué tientan a Dios, al poner sobre los hombros de los discípulos un yugo que ni nuestros antepasados ni nosotros pudimos llevar?
now, therefore, why do you tempt God, to put a yoke on the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
11 Más bien, creemos que por la gracia del Señor Jesús fuimos salvos de igual modo como ellos.
But through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we believe to be saved, even as also they.”
12 Entonces toda la asamblea calló. Oían a Bernabé y a Pablo quienes informaban cuán grandes señales milagrosas y prodigios Dios hizo por medio de ellos entre los gentiles.
And all the multitude kept silence and were listening to Barnabas and Paul expounding as many signs and wonders as God did among the nations through them;
13 Cuando ellos callaron, Jacobo tomó la palabra: Varones hermanos, escúchenme:
and after they were silent, James answered, saying, “Men, brothers, listen to me:
14 Simón explicó cómo Dios nos visitó la primera vez para tomar de entre los gentiles un pueblo para su Nombre.
Simeon expounded how at first God looked on [us] to take a people out of [the] nations for His Name,
15 Esto concuerda con las Palabras de los profetas, como está escrito:
and to this the words of the Prophets agree, as it has been written:
16 Después de estas cosas volveré y restauraré el Tabernáculo derribado de David. Reconstruiré sus ruinas y lo reedificaré
After these things I will return, And I will rebuild the dwelling place of David that has fallen down, And I will rebuild its ruins, And will set it upright—
17 para que el resto de los hombres busque al Señor, y todos los gentiles sobre quienes fue invocado mi Nombre, dice el Señor, quien hace que todas estas cosas
That the remnant of men may seek after the LORD, And all the nations on whom My Name has been called, Says the LORD, who is doing all these things.
Known from the ages to God are all His works. (aiōn g165)
19 Por tanto yo pienso que no se debe causar dificultades a los gentiles que dan la vuelta hacia Dios,
For this reason I judge: not to trouble those who turn back to God from the nations,
20 sino que se les escriba que se abstengan de las contaminaciones de los ídolos, de la relación carnal fuera del matrimonio, de lo estrangulado y de [comer] sangre.
but to write to them to abstain from the defilements of the idols, and the whoredom, and the strangled thing, and the blood;
21 Porque Moisés desde generaciones antiguas tiene los que lo proclaman en cada ciudad, puesto que es leído cada sábado en las congregaciones.
for Moses has those preaching him from former generations in every city—being read every Sabbath in the synagogues.”
22 Entonces les pareció a los apóstoles y a los ancianos, con toda la iglesia, enviar varones escogidos de ellos a Antioquía con Pablo y Bernabé: a Judas, el llamado Barnabás, y a Silas, varones que sobresalían entre los hermanos,
Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole assembly, to send to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas chosen men out of themselves—Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, leading men among the brothers—
23 y escribir por medio de ellos: Los apóstoles y los ancianos, a los hermanos de los gentiles en Antioquía, Siria y Cilicia. Saludos.
having written through their hand thus: “The apostles, and the elders, and the brothers, to those in Antioch, and Syria, and Cilicia, brothers, who [are] of the nations, greeting;
24 Por cuanto oímos que algunos de nosotros, sin nuestra autorización, los inquietaron y perturbaron con sus palabras,
seeing we have heard that some having gone forth from us troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying to be circumcised and to keep the Law, to whom we gave no charge,
25 al llegar a la unanimidad, nos pareció bien escoger a unos hombres para enviarlos a ustedes con nuestros amados Bernabé y Pablo,
it seemed good to us, having come together with one accord, to send to you chosen men, with our beloved Barnabas and Paul—
26 hombres que han expuesto sus vidas por el Nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
men who have given up their lives for the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ—
27 Enviamos, pues, a Judas y Silas, y ellos de palabra informarán las mismas cosas.
we have sent, therefore, Judas and Silas, and they are telling the same things by word.
28 Porque pareció [bien] al Espíritu Santo y a nosotros, no imponerles alguna carga adicional, excepto estas cosas necesarias:
For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay no more burden on you, except these necessary things:
29 Que se abstengan de cosas ofrecidas a ídolos, de [comer] sangre, de lo estrangulado y de relación carnal fuera del matrimonio. Harán bien si se abstienen de tales cosas. ¡Adiós!
to abstain from things offered to idols, and blood, and a strangled thing, and whoredom; keeping yourselves from which, you will do well; be strong!”
30 Así que ellos fueron despedidos, bajaron a Antioquía y entregaron la carta.
They then, indeed, having been let go, went to Antioch, and having brought the multitude together, delivered the letter,
31 Cuando [la] leyeron, se regocijaron por su mensaje de consuelo.
and having read [it] they rejoiced for the consolation;
32 Judas y Silas, quienes también eran profetas, consolaron y fortalecieron a los hermanos con abundante palabra.
Judas also and Silas, also being prophets themselves, through much discourse exhorted the brothers, and confirmed,
33 Después de un tiempo, los hermanos los despidieron en paz, y regresaron a los que los enviaron.
and having passed some time, they were let go with peace from the brothers to the apostles;
[[and it seemed good to Silas to remain there still.]]
35 Pablo y Bernabé permanecieron en Antioquía, y con muchos otros enseñaban y proclamaban las Buenas Noticias del Señor.
And Paul and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and proclaiming good news—with many others also—the word of the LORD;
36 Después de algunos días, Pablo dijo a Bernabé: Volvamos a visitar a los hermanos de las ciudades donde proclamamos la Palabra del Señor, [para ver ]cómo están.
and after certain days, Paul said to Barnabas, “Having turned back again, we may look after our brothers, in every city in which we have preached the word of the LORD—how they are.”
37 Bernabé quería que llevaran con ellos a Juan Marcos.
And Barnabas resolved to take with [them] John called Mark,
38 Pero Pablo insistía en no llevar al que se apartó de ellos en Panfilia y no fue a la obra.
and Paul was not thinking it good to take him with them who withdrew from them from Pamphylia, and did not go with them to the work;
39 Hubo tanto desacuerdo que se separaron el uno del otro. Bernabé tomó a Marcos y navegó hacia Chipre.
there came, therefore, a sharp contention, so that they were parted from one another, and Barnabas having taken Mark, sailed to Cyprus,
40 Pablo escogió a Silas y salió encomendado a la gracia del Señor por los hermanos.
and Paul having chosen Silas, went forth, having been given up to the grace of God by the brothers;
41 Pasó por Siria y Cilicia y fortalecía a las iglesias.
and he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the assemblies.
