2 Tesalonicenses 3

1 Por lo demás, hermanos, hablen con Dios con respecto a nosotros para que la Palabra del Señor corra y sea magnificada, como también [ocurrió] con ustedes,

Finally, brethren, pray for us, asking that the Lord's Message may be spread rapidly and its glory be displayed, as it was displayed among you;

2 y para que seamos librados de los hombres perversos y malos, porque la fe no es de todos.

and that we may be delivered from wrong-headed and wicked men; for it is not everybody who has faith.

3 Pero fiel es el Señor, Quien los afianzará y protegerá del malo.

But the Lord is faithful, and He will make you stedfast and will guard you from the Evil one.

4 Ponemos la confianza en el Señor con respecto a ustedes, que hacen y harán lo que mandamos.

And we have confidence in the Lord in regard to you that you are doing, and will do, what we command.

5 El Señor dirija sus corazones al amor de Dios y a la paciencia de Cristo.

And may the Lord guide your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.

6 Pero les ordenamos, hermanos, en Nombre del Señor Jesucristo, que ustedes se mantengan alejados de todo hermano que viva desordenadamente, y no según la enseñanza que recibieron de nosotros.

But, by the authority of the Lord, we command you, brethren, to stand aloof from every brother whose life is disorderly and not in accordance with the teaching which all received from us.

7 Porque ustedes mismos saben de qué manera deben imitarnos, pues no estuvimos fuera de orden entre ustedes,

For you yourselves know that it is your duty to follow our example. There was no disorder in our lives among you,

8 ni comimos pan de nadie sin pago. Al contrario, trabajamos con afán y fatiga de noche y de día para no ser carga a ninguno de ustedes.

nor did we eat any one's bread without paying for it, but we laboured and toiled, working hard night and day in order not to be a burden to any of you.

9 No porque no tenemos derecho, sino para que fuéramos como ejemplo a ustedes, a fin de que nos imiten.

This was not because we had not a claim upon you, but it arose from a desire to set you an example--for you to imitate us.

10 Aun cuando estábamos con ustedes les ordenábamos esto: Si alguno no quiere trabajar, que tampoco coma.

For even when we were with you, we laid down this rule for you: "If a man does not choose to work, neither shall he eat."

11 Porque oímos que algunos entre ustedes viven desordenadamente sin trabajar y entrometidos [en lo ajeno].

For we hear that there are some of you who live disorderly lives and are mere idle busybodies.

12 A ellos ordenamos y exhortamos por el Señor Jesucristo que trabajen ordenadamente y coman su propio pan.

To persons of that sort our injunction--and our command by the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ--is that they are to work quietly and eat their own honestly-earned bread.

13 A ustedes, hermanos, que no dejen de hacer cosas buenas.

But you, brethren, must not grow weary in the path of duty;

14 Si alguno no obedece a nuestra enseñanza por medio de esta epístola, señalen a éste para que no se junten con él, a fin de que sea avergonzado.

and if any one refuses to obey these our written instructions, mark that man and hold no communication with him--so that he may be made to feel ashamed.

15 Pero no lo consideren como enemigo. Amonéstenlo como a un hermano.

And yet do not regard him as an enemy, but caution him as a brother.

16 El mismo Señor de la paz les dé siempre la paz en toda manera. El Señor sea con todos ustedes.

And may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every sense. The Lord be with you all.

17 El saludo de mi mano, de Pablo, que es [la] señal en toda epístola. Así escribo.

I Paul add the greeting with my own hand, which is the credential in every letter of mine.

18 La gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo sea con todos ustedes.

This is my handwriting. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
