2 Samuel 6

1 David volvió a reunir a todos los escogidos de Israel: 30.000.

Again, David assembled all [the] chosen [men] of Israel, thirty thousand,

2 Entonces David se levantó y salió a Baala de Judá con todo el pueblo que tenía consigo, para subir desde allí el Arca de ʼElohim, la cual es llamada por el Nombre de Yavé de las huestes, sobre la cual están los querubines.

And David arose, and went with all the people that [were] with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth [between] the cherubim.

3 Pusieron el Arca de ʼElohim en una carroza nueva, y se la llevaron de la casa de Abinadab que estaba en la colina. Uza y Ahío, hijos de Abinadab, conducían la carroza nueva

And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that [was] in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio the sons of Abinadab drove the new cart.

4 y la sacaron con el Arca de ʼElohim de la casa de Abinadab que estaba en la colina. Ahío iba delante del Arca.

And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which [was] at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.

5 David y toda la casa de Israel tocaban toda clase de instrumentos de madera de abeto, con arpas, salterios, panderos, flautas y címbalos delante de Yavé con alegría.

And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of [instruments made of] fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.

6 Pero cuando llegaron a la era de Nacón, Uza alargó su mano al Arca de ʼElohim para sostenerla, porque los bueyes tropezaban.

And when they came to Nachon's threshing-floor, Uzzah put forth [his hand] to the ark of God, and took hold of it: for the oxen shook [it].

7 Pero la ira de Yavé se encendió contra Uza. ʼElohim lo hirió allí por aquella temeridad y allí cayó muerto junto al Arca de ʼElohim.

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah, and God smote him there for [his] error; and there he died by the ark of God.

8 David se disgustó porque Yavé quebrantó a Uza, por lo cual llamó aquel lugar Brecha de Uza hasta hoy.

And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perez-uzzah to this day.

9 Pero aquel día David tuvo temor a Yavé y dijo: ¿Cómo podrá el Arca de Yavé venir a mí?

And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?

10 David no quiso trasladar el Arca de Yavé consigo a la ciudad de David, sino la llevó a la casa de Obed-edom geteo.

So David would not remove the ark of the LORD to him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

11 El Arca de Yavé estuvo en casa de Obed-edom geteo tres meses, y Yavé bendijo a Obed-edom y a toda su casa.

And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obed-edom and all his household.

12 Se informó al rey David: Yavé bendijo la casa de Obed-edom y todo lo que tiene a causa del Arca de ʼElohim. Entonces David fue y subió el Arca de ʼElohim con alegría de la casa de Obed-edom a la Ciudad de David.

And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that [pertaineth] to him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the city of David with gladness.

13 Sucedió que cuando los portadores del Arca de Yavé caminaban seis pasos, él sacrificaba un becerro y un carnero engordado.

And it was [so], that when they that bore the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.

14 David danzaba con toda su fuerza delante de Yavé y se puso un efod de lino.

And David danced before the LORD with all [his] might; and David [was] girded with a linen ephod.

15 David y toda la casa de Israel subieron el Arca de Yavé de este modo, con aclamaciones y al sonido de la corneta.

So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.

16 Cuando el Arca de Yavé entró en la Ciudad de David, aconteció que Mical, hija de Saúl, miró por la ventana. Y cuando vio al rey David que saltaba y danzaba delante de Yavé, lo despreció en su corazón.

And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal, Saul's daughter, looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.

17 Llevaron el Arca de Yavé y la pusieron en su lugar en medio de la tienda que David le levantó. Entonces David ofreció holocaustos y ofrendas de paz delante de Yavé.

And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before the LORD.

18 Cuando David acabó de ofrecer los holocaustos y las ofrendas de paz, bendijo al pueblo en el Nombre de Yavé de las huestes.

And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt-offerings and peace-offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts.

19 Repartió una torta de pan, una de dátiles y una de pasas a todo el pueblo y a toda la multitud de Israel, a cada uno, tanto a hombres como a mujeres. Luego todo el pueblo salió, cada uno a su casa.

And he dealt among all the people, [even] among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece [of flesh], and a flagon [of wine]. So all the people departed every one to his house.

20 Pero al regresar David para bendecir su casa, Mical, hija de Saúl, salió a encontrar a David y le dijo: ¡Cuán honrado quedó el rey de Israel hoy, al descubrirse ante los ojos de las esclavas de sus esclavos, como se descubre cualquier bufón!

Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to-day, who uncovered himself to-day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!

21 Entonces David dijo a Mical: Lo hice delante de Yavé, Quien me escogió por encima de tu padre y de toda su casa para constituirme caudillo sobre Israel, el pueblo de Yavé. Por tanto, danzo delante de Yavé

And David said to Michal, [It was] before the LORD, who chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.

22 y me humillaré aún más que esta vez. Me rebajaré ante mis propios ojos, pero seré honrado delante de las esclavas que mencionas.

And I shall yet be more vile than thus, and shall be base in my own sight: and by the maid-servants which thou hast spoken of, by them shall I be had in honor.

23 Y Mical, hija de Saúl, no tuvo hijos hasta el día de su muerte.

Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child until the day of her death.
