2 Samuel 3

1 La guerra entre la casa de Saúl y la casa de David fue larga, pero David se fortalecía, mientras la casa de Saúl se debilitaba cada vez más.

There was then long warre betweene the house of Saul and the house of Dauid: but Dauid waxed stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker.

2 A David le nacieron hijos en Hebrón: Su primogénito fue Amnón, de Ahinoam jezreelita,

And vnto Dauid were children borne in Hebron: and his eldest sonne was Amnon of Ahinoam the Izreelite,

3 su segundo Quileab, de Abigail, la que fue esposa de Nabal el carmelita, el tercero Absalón, hijo de Maaca, hija de Talmai, rey de Gesur,

And his seconde, was Chileab of Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite: and the third, Absalom the sonne of Maacah the daughter of Talmai the King of Geshur,

4 el cuarto Adonías, hijo de Haggit, el quinto Sefatías, hijo de Abital,

And the fourth, Adoniiah the sonne of Haggith, and the fifth, Shephatiah the sonne of Abital,

5 y el sexto Itream, de Egla, esposa de David. Estos le nacieron a David en Hebrón.

And the sixt, Ithream by Eglah Dauids wife: these were borne to Dauid in Hebron.

6 Durante el transcurso de la guerra entre la casa de Saúl y la casa de David, Abner se fortalecía en la casa de Saúl.

Nowe while there was warre betweene the house of Saul and the house of Dauid, Abner made all his power for the house of Saul.

7 Saúl tuvo una concubina llamada Rizpa, hija de Aja. Entonces Is-boset le dijo a Abner: ¿Por qué te uniste a la concubina de mi padre?

And Saul had a concubine named Rizpah, the daughter of Aiiah. And Ish-bosheth sayde to Abner, Wherefore hast thou gone in to my fathers concubine?

8 Abner se irritó muchísimo por las palabras de Is-boset y dijo: ¿Soy yo la cabeza de un perro que pertenece a Judá? Hasta hoy muestro favor a la casa de Saúl tu padre, a sus hermanos y amigos, de manera que no te entregué en mano de David. ¿Y ahora me echas en cara un asunto de mujeres?

Then was Abner very wroth for the words of Ish-bosheth, and said, Am I a dogges head, which against Iudah do shew mercie this day vnto the house of Saul thy father, to his brethren, and to his neighbours, and haue not deliuered thee into the hande of Dauid, that thou chargest me this day with a fault concerning this woman?

9 Así haga ʼElohim a Abner y aún le añada, si lo que Yavé juró a David no lo obtengo para él,

So doe God to Abner, and more also, except, as the Lord hath sworne to Dauid, euen so I doe to him,

10 al traspasar el reino de la casa de Saúl y confirmar el trono de David sobre Israel y sobre Judá, desde Dan hasta Beerseba.

To remoue the kingdome from the house of Saul, that the throne of Dauid may be stablished ouer Israel, and ouer Iudah, euen from Dan to Beer-sheba.

11 Is-boset no pudo responder a Abner porque le temía.

And he durst no more answere to Abner: for he feared him.

12 Entonces Abner envió mensajeros a David para decirle de parte de él: ¿De quién es la tierra? Y que también le dijeran: Haz pacto conmigo, y ciertamente mi mano estará contigo para que todo Israel se vuelva a ti.

Then Abner sent messengers to Dauid on his behalfe, saying, Whose is the lande? who should also say, Make couenant with me, and beholde, mine hande shalbe with thee, to bring all Israel vnto thee.

13 Y él respondió: Bien, yo haré pacto contigo, pero una cosa te pido: No verás mi semblante sin que primero traigas a Mical, hija de Saúl, cuando vengas a verme.

Who saide, Well, I will make a couenant with thee: but one thing I require of thee, that is, that thou see not my face except thou bring Michal Sauls daughter when thou commest to see me.

14 David envió mensajeros a Is-boset, hijo de Saúl y dijo: Devuélveme mi esposa Mical, a quien desposé conmigo por 100 prepucios de filisteos.

Then Dauid sent messengers to Ish-bosheth Sauls sonne, saying, Deliuer me my wife Michal, which I marryed for an hundreth foreskinnes of the Philistims.

15 Entonces Is-boset envió a quitársela a [su esposo], Paltiel, hijo de Lais.

And Ish-bosheth sent, and tooke her from her husband Phaltiel the sonne of Laish.

16 Pero su esposo salió con ella. Caminaba y lloraba detrás de ella hasta Bahurim, donde Abner le dijo: ¡Anda, devuélvete! Y él regresó.

And her husband went with her, and came weeping behinde her, vnto Bahurim: then saide Abner vnto him, Go, and returne. So he returned.

17 Abner consultó con los ancianos de Israel: En tiempos pasados ustedes buscaban a David para que fuera su rey.

And Abner had communication with the Elders of Israel, saying, Ye sought for Dauid in times past, that he might be your King.

18 Ahora pues, háganlo, porque Yavé habló a David: Por medio de mi esclavo David libraré a mi pueblo Israel de la mano de los filisteos y todos sus enemigos.

Nowe then doe it: for the Lord hath spoken of Dauid, saying, By the hand of my seruant Dauid I will saue my people Israel out of the handes of the Philistims, and out of the handes of all their enemies.

19 Abner habló también a los hijos de Benjamín. Luego él mismo fue a Hebrón para decirle a David todo lo que parecía bien a los ojos de Israel y a la casa de Benjamín.

Also Abner spake to Beniamin, and afterward Abner went to speake with Dauid in Hebron, concerning all that Israel was content with, and the whole house of Beniamin.

20 Abner fue con 20 hombres a David en Hebrón. Éste hizo un banquete para Abner y sus hombres.

So Abner came to Dauid to Hebron, hauing twentie men with him, and Dauid made a feast vnto Abner, and to the men that were with him.

21 Abner dijo a David: Me levantaré, iré y reuniré a todo Israel para mi ʼadón el rey y que hagan un pacto contigo a fin de que tú reines sobre todo lo que desea tu corazón. Así David despidió a Abner, y éste se fue en paz.

Then Abner sayde vnto Dauid, I will rise vp, and goe gather all Israel vnto my lorde the King, that they may make a couenant with thee, and that thou mayest reigne ouer all that thine heart desireth. Then Dauid let Abner depart, who went in peace.

22 Los esclavos de David y Joab llegaron de una incursión y llevaron consigo un gran botín. Pero Abner no estaba con David en Hebrón, pues lo despidió y él se fue en paz.

And beholde, the seruants of Dauid and Ioab came from the campe, and brought a great pray with them (but Abner was not with Dauid in Hebron: for he had sent him away, and he departed in peace)

23 Cuando Joab llegó con todo el ejército que estaba con él, informaron a Joab: Abner, hijo de Ner, vino al rey, y él lo despidió, y se fue en paz.

When Ioab, and all the hoste that was with him were come, men tolde Ioab, saying, Abner the sonne of Ner came to the King, and he hath sent him away, and he is gone in peace.

24 Entonces Joab fue al rey y dijo: ¿Qué hiciste? ¡Ciertamente Abner vino a ti! ¿Por qué lo dejaste ir? ¡Ya salió!

Then Ioab came to the King, and saide, What hast thou done? beholde, Abner came vnto thee, why hast thou sent him away, and he is departed?

25 ¡Tú sabes que Abner, hijo de Ner, vino a engañarte para saber adónde vas y de dónde vienes, y saber todo lo que haces!

Thou knowest Abner the sonne of Ner: for he came to deceiue thee, and to knowe thy outgoing and ingoing, and to knowe all that thou doest.

26 Cuando Joab salió de la presencia de David, envió mensajeros tras Abner, y lo devolvieron desde el pozo de Sira, pero David no lo supo.

And when Ioab was gone out from Dauid, he sent messengers after Abner, which brought him againe from the well of Siriah vnknowing to Dauid.

27 Cuando Abner regresó a Hebrón, Joab lo llamó aparte en medio de la puerta para hablarle en privado. Allí lo hirió por la quinta costilla, de modo que murió, a causa de la sangre de Asael, hermano de Joab.

And when Abner was come againe to Hebron, Ioab tooke him aside in the gate to speake with him peaceably, and smote him vnder the fift ryb, that he dyed, for the blood of Asahel his brother.

28 Cuando David supo esto, dijo: ¡Yo y mi reino somos inocentes ante Yavé para siempre de la sangre de Abner, hijo de Ner!

And when afterwarde it came to Dauids eare, he saide, I and my kingdome are giltlesse before the Lord for euer, concerning the blood of Abner the sonne of Ner.

29 ¡Recaiga sobre la cabeza de Joab y sobre toda la casa de su padre! ¡Que nunca falte de la casa de Joab uno que padezca flujo, que sea leproso, que se apoye en muleta, que muera a espada o que carezca de pan!

Let the blood fall on the head of Ioab, and on all his fathers house, that the house of Ioab be neuer without some that haue running issues, or leper, or that leaneth on a staffe, or that doeth fall on the sworde, or that lacketh bread.

30 Así Joab y Abisai su hermano asesinaron a Abner, porque él dio muerte a Asael, hermano de ellos, durante la batalla en Gabaón.

(So Ioab and Abishai his brother slewe Abner, because he had slaine their brother Asahel at Gibeon in battel)

31 Después David dijo a Joab y a todo el pueblo que estaba con él: ¡Rasguen sus ropas, átense tela áspera y hagan duelo por Abner! Y el rey David iba detrás del féretro.

And Dauid said to Ioab, and to al the people that were with him, Rent your clothes, and put on sackecloth, and mourne before Abner: and King Dauid him selfe followed the beare.

32 Sepultaron a Abner en Hebrón. El rey alzó su voz y lloró junto al sepulcro de Abner. Todo el pueblo también lloró.

And when they had buryed Abner in Hebron, the King lift vp his voyce, and wept beside the sepulchre of Abner, and all the people wept.

33 El rey pronunció esta endecha por Abner: ¿Tenía que morir Abner como muere un insensato?

And the King lamented ouer Abner, and sayde, Dyed Abner as a foole dyeth?

34 Tus manos no estaban atadas, Ni impedidos tus pies con grillos. Más bien, como el que cae ante los hijos de iniquidad, así caíste tú. Y todo el pueblo volvió a llorar por él.

Thine handes were not bounde, nor thy feete tyed in fetters of brasse: but as a man falleth before wicked men, so diddest thou fall. And all the people wept againe for him.

35 Después todo el pueblo fue a rogar a David que comiera ese día, pero David juró: Así me haga ʼElohim y aun me añada si yo pruebo pan o cualquier otra cosa antes que se oculte el sol.

Afterwarde all the people came to cause Dauid eate meate while it was yet day, but Dauid sware, saying, So doe God to me and more also, if I taste bread, or ought els till the sunne be downe.

36 Todo el pueblo supo esto, y lo vio con agrado. Todo cuanto hacía el rey parecía bien al pueblo.

And all the people knewe it, and it pleased them: as whatsoeuer the King did, pleased all the people.

37 Así todo el pueblo y todo Israel entendió aquel día que la muerte de Abner, hijo de Ner, no provino del rey.

For all the people and all Israel vnderstoode that day, howe that it was not the Kings deede that Abner the sonne of Ner was slaine.

38 El rey dijo a sus esclavos: ¿No saben ustedes que un jefe y un gran hombre cayó hoy en Israel?

And the King said vnto his seruants, Know ye not, that there is a prince and a great man falle this day in Israel?

39 Y yo, aunque fui ungido como rey, fui benévolo, mientras que esa gente, los hijos de Sarvia, fueron más duros que yo. ¡Que Yavé retribuya al malhechor según su perversidad!

And I am this day weake and newly anoynted King: and these men the sonnes of Zeruiah be too harde for me: the Lord rewarde the doer of euill according to his wickednesse.
