2 Samuel 23
1 Estas son las últimas palabras de David: David, el hijo de Isaí declara: Así dice el hombre que fue exaltado, El ungido del ʼElohim de Jacob, El dulce salmista de Israel:
Now these are the last words of David: David the son of Jesse saith, And the man who was raised up on high, The anointed of the God of Jacob, And the sweet psalmist of Israel saith,
2 El Espíritu de Yavé habla por medio de mí Y su Palabra está en mi boca.
The Spirit of Jehovah spoke by me, And his word was on my tongue.
3 Dice el ʼElohim de Israel, Me habló la Roca de Israel, El que gobierna a los hombres con justicia, El que gobierna con el temor de ʼElohim.
The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me, The ruler among men shall be just, Ruling in the fear of God;
4 Es como la luz de la aurora cuando sale el sol, Como el resplandor de una mañana sin nubes, Como la lluvia que hace brotar la hierba de la tierra.
And [he shall be] as the light of the morning, [like] the rising of the sun, A morning without clouds; [When] from the sunshine, after rain, The green grass springeth from the earth.
5 No es así mi casa hacia ʼElohim, Sin embargo, Él hizo conmigo un Pacto eterno, Ordenado en todo y será cumplido, Aunque aún no hace florecer toda mi salvación y mi deseo.
Although my house be not so before God, Yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, Ordered in every way and sure; For [this is] all my salvation, and every desire, Although he make [it] not to grow.
6 Pero todos los perversos serán como espinos Que se tiran y nadie recoge,
But [the sons] of Belial [are] all of them as thorns thrust away, Because they cannot be taken with hands;
7 Nadie los tocará, sino con un hierro o con un asta de lanza, Y con fuego que los queme por completo en su lugar.
And the man that will touch them provideth himself with iron and the staff of a spear; And they shall be utterly burned with fire in [their] place.
8 Estos son los nombres de los valientes que David tuvo: Joseb-basebet el tacmonita, principal de los tres capitanes, quien era llamado Adino el eznita, quien mató a 800 hombres en una ocasión.
These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Joseb-Bassebeth, Tachkemonite the chief of the captains: he was Adino the Eznite; he [fought] against eight hundred, slain [by him] at one time.
9 Después de él estaba Eleazar, hijo de Dodo, hijo de Ahohi, uno de los tres capitanes que estaban con David cuando desafiaron a los filisteos que estaban reunidos para la batalla, aunque los hombres de Israel se retiraron de allí.
And after him, Eleazar the son of Dodo the son of an Ahohite: he was one of the three mighty men with David, when they had defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone up.
10 [Eleazar] se levantó e hirió a los filisteos hasta que su mano se cansó y se quedó pegada a la espada. Aquel día Yavé dio una gran victoria, y el pueblo volvió tras él solo para tomar el botín.
He arose and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave to the sword; and Jehovah wrought a great deliverance that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
11 Después de él estaba Samá, hijo de Ajá, el hararita. Los filisteos se concentraron donde había una parcela de tierra sembrada con lentejas, y el pueblo huyó de los filisteos.
And after him, Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite: the Philistines were gathered into a troop, and there was there a plot of ground full of lentils, and the people had fled before the Philistines;
12 Pero [Samá] se paró en medio de aquella parcela y la defendió. Derrotó a los filisteos, y Yavé dio una gran victoria.
and he stood in the midst of the plot and delivered it, and smote the Philistines, and Jehovah wrought a great deliverance.
13 También, en la época de la cosecha, hubo tres de los 30 principales que bajaron y fueron a David, a la cueva de Adulam, cuando una banda de filisteos acampaba en el valle de Refaim.
And three of the thirty chiefs went down, and came to David in the harvest time to the cave of Adullam, when the troop of the Philistines was encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
14 David estaba entonces en el refugio, y la guarnición filistea estaba en Belén.
And David was then in the stronghold; and the Philistines' garrison was then at Bethlehem.
15 David tuvo un deseo y exclamó: ¡Quién me diera a beber agua del pozo de Belén, que está junto a la puerta!
And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me to drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is in the gate!
16 Y los tres valientes irrumpieron en el campamento filisteo y sacaron agua del pozo, junto a la puerta de Belén, y se la llevaron a David. Pero él no quiso beberla, sino que la derramó como ofrenda a Yavé, y dijo:
And the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, which is in the gate, and took it, and brought it to David; however he would not drink of it, but poured it out to Jehovah.
17 ¡Lejos esté de mí, oh Yavé, hacer esto! ¿Beberé yo la sangre de los varones que fueron con riesgo de sus vidas? Y no quiso beberla. Tales cosas hicieron estos tres valientes.
And he said, Be it far from me, Jehovah, that I should do this thing! is it not the blood of the men that went at the risk of their lives? Therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
18 Y Abisai, hermano de Joab, hijo de Sarvia, era el principal de los 30. Éste blandió su lanza contra 300 que fueron traspasados, y tuvo renombre entre los tres.
And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was the chief of three; and he brandished his spear against three hundred and slew them; and he had a name among the three.
19 [Abisai] fue el más renombrado de los 30 y fue su jefe, pero no fue incluido entre los tres.
Was he not most honourable of three? and he was their captain; but he did not attain to the [first] three.
20 Después, Benaía, hijo de Joiada, hijo de un hombre valiente de múltiples proezas, natural de Cabseel, mató a ambos hijos de Ariel de Moab. En un día de nieve, bajó y mató a un león dentro de un foso.
And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, son of a valiant man, great in exploits, of Kabzeel: he it was that smote two lions of Moab; and he went down and smote a lion in the midst of a pit on a snowy day.
21 También mató a un egipcio de enorme estatura. El egipcio llevaba una lanza en la mano. Benaía fue contra él con un cayado, arrebató la lanza de la mano del egipcio y lo mató con su propia lanza.
He also smote the Egyptian, an imposing man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
22 Benaía, hijo de Joiada, hizo esto y tuvo renombre entre los 30 valientes.
These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and he had a name among the three mighty men.
23 Fue distinguido entre los 30, pero no alcanzó a los tres. David lo puso al frente de su guardia personal.
He was honoured above the thirty, but he did not attain to the [first] three. And David set him in his council.
24 Asael, hermano de Joab, fue de los 30, así como Elhanán, hijo de Dodo, de Belén,
Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
25 Samá harodita, Elica harodita,
Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,
26 Heles paltita, Ira, hijo de Iques, tecoíta,
Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,
27 Abiezer anatotita, Mebunai husatita,
Abiezer the Anathothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,
28 Salmón ahohíta, Maharai netofatita,
Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,
29 Heleb, hijo de Baana, netofatita, Itai, hijo de Ribai, de Gabaa de los hijos de Benjamín,
Heleb the son of Baanah, the Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin,
30 Benaía piratonita, Hidai, de los arroyos de Gaas,
Benaiah a Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash,
31 Abi-albón arbatita, Azmavet barhumita,

Uriah the Hittite: thirty-seven in all.
