2 Corintios 1

1 Pablo, un apóstol de Cristo Jesús por [la] voluntad de Dios, y el hermano Timoteo, a la iglesia de Dios que está en Corinto, con todos los santos que están en toda Acaya.

Paul, apostle of Jesus Christ by God's will, and the brother Timotheus, to the assembly of God which is in Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia.

2 Gracia a ustedes y paz de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.

Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Bendito sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, el Padre de misericordias y Dios de toda consolación,

Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassions, and God of all encouragement;

4 Quien nos consuela en toda nuestra aflicción, para que nosotros consolemos a los que están en cualquier aflicción, por medio de la consolación con la cual nosotros mismos somos consolados por Dios.

who encourages us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to encourage those who are in any tribulation whatever, through the encouragement with which we ourselves are encouraged of God.

5 Porque así como los sufrimientos de Cristo abundan en nosotros, así también nuestra consolación abunda por medio de Cristo.

Because, even as the sufferings of the Christ abound towards us, so through the Christ does our encouragement also abound.

6 Pero si somos afligidos es para la consolación y salvación de ustedes. Si somos consolados, es para su consolación. En medio de los mismos sufrimientos que soportamos, la consolación se manifiesta en paciencia.

But whether we are in tribulation, [it is] for your encouragement and salvation, wrought in the endurance of the same sufferings which we also suffer,

7 Nuestra esperanza con respecto a ustedes es firme. Porque sabemos que así como ustedes participan de nuestros sufrimientos, así también [participan] de la consolación.

(and our hope for you [is] sure; ) or whether we are encouraged, [it is] for your encouragement and salvation: knowing that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so also of the encouragement.

8 Porque, hermanos, queremos que ustedes sepan con respecto a la aflicción que tuvimos en Asia. Fuimos abrumados en exceso más allá de nuestra fuerza, hasta el punto de perder la esperanza de vivir.

For we do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, as to our tribulation which happened [to us] in Asia, that we were excessively pressed beyond [our] power, so as to despair even of living.

9 Pero estuvimos sentenciados a muerte, para que no confiáramos en nosotros mismos sino en Dios, Quien resucita a los muertos,

But we ourselves had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not have our trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead;

10 Quien nos libró y nos libra, y esperamos que nos librará de tan grande [peligro de] muerte.

who has delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver; in whom we confide that he will also yet deliver;

11 Ustedes también cooperan en su conversación con Dios a favor de nosotros, para que muchas personas den gracias por [el] don de gracia que se nos concedió.

ye also labouring together by supplication for us that the gift towards us, through means of many persons, may be the subject of the thanksgiving of many for us.

12 Porque ésta es nuestra satisfacción: el testimonio de nuestra conciencia es que nos portamos con sencillez y sinceridad de Dios en el mundo y mucho más ante ustedes. No [nos portamos] con sabiduría humana, sino con gracia de Dios.

For our boasting is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and sincerity before God, (not in fleshly wisdom but in God's grace, ) we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly towards you.

13 Porque ninguna otra cosa les escribimos sino las que leen o entienden. Espero que ustedes entiendan por completo.

For we do not write other things to you but what ye well know and recognise; and I hope that ye will recognise to the end,

14 Como en parte también ustedes entendieron que su motivo de orgullo somos nosotros, igualmente ustedes serán nuestro motivo de orgullo en el día del Señor Jesús.

even as also ye have recognised us in part, that we are your boast, even as ye [are] ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.

15 Con esta confianza me proponía visitarlos primero a ustedes para que recibieran bendición dos veces:

And with this confidence I purposed to come to you previously, that ye might have a second favour;

16 visitarlos de paso a Macedonia y regresar a ustedes para que me envíen a Judea.

and to pass through to Macedonia by you, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and to be set forward by you to Judaea.

17 Así que, al proponerme esto, ¿actué con precipitación? ¿O lo planifico según [la] naturaleza humana para que en mí haya al mismo tiempo el sí y el no?

Having therefore this purpose, did I then use lightness? Or what I purpose, do I purpose according to flesh, that there should be with me yea yea, and nay nay?

18 Pero [como] Dios es fiel, nuestra palabra para ustedes no es sí y no.

Now God [is] faithful, that our word to you is not yea and nay.

19 Porque cuando Silvano, Timoteo y yo les predicamos con respecto a Jesucristo, el Hijo de Dios, no fue sí y no. En [Jesucristo] fue sí.

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, he who has been preached by us among you (by me and Silvanus and Timotheus), did not become yea and nay, but yea is in him.

20 Porque todas las promesas de Dios en Él son sí. Por tanto también por medio de Él decimos amén a Dios.

For whatever promises of God [there are], in him is the yea, and in him the amen, for glory to God by us.

21 Dios es Quien nos fortalece juntamente con ustedes en Cristo y Quien nos ungió.

Now he that establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, [is] God,

22 También nos selló y nos dio la cuota inicial del Espíritu en nuestros corazones.

who also has sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

23 Pero invoco a Dios como testigo sobre mi vida de que por la inclinación que tengo a perdonarlos a ustedes, aún no fui a Corinto.

But I call God to witness upon my soul that to spare you I have not yet come to Corinth.

24 Porque por fe permanecen firmes. No dominamos la fe de ustedes, sino trabajamos con ustedes para su gozo.

Not that we rule over your faith, but are fellow-workmen of your joy: for by faith ye stand.
