2 Crónicas 35

1 Josías celebró la Pascua de Yavé en Jerusalén. El 14 del mes primero degollaron el cordero pascual.

Now Josiah kept the Passover to the Lord in Jerusalem, and it was immolated on the fourteenth day of the first month.

2 Restableció a los sacerdotes según sus funciones. Los animó a dedicarse al servicio de la Casa de Yavé.

And he appointed the priests in their offices, and he exhorted them to minister in the house of the Lord.

3 Y dijo a los levitas que enseñaban en todo Israel, los que estaban santificados para Yavé: Pongan el Arca del Santuario en la Casa que edificó Salomón, hijo de David, rey de Israel. Ya no la cargarán en hombros. Sirvan a Yavé su ʼElohim y a su pueblo Israel.

Also, he spoke with the Levites, by whose instruction all of Israel was sanctified to the Lord, saying: “Place the ark in the sanctuary of the temple, which Solomon, the son of David, the king of Israel, built. For never again shall you carry it. Instead, now you shall minister to the Lord your God, and to his people Israel.

4 Prepárense según el orden de sus casas paternas y sus clases, según lo escrito por David, rey de Israel, y su hijo Salomón.

And prepare yourselves by your houses and families, within each division, just as David, the king of Israel, instructed, and just as his son Solomon has written.

5 Ocupen su lugar en el Santuario en conformidad con las divisiones de las casas paternas de sus hermanos, los hijos del pueblo, y haya una sección de los levitas por cada casa paterna del pueblo.

And minister in the sanctuary, by the Levitical families and companies.

6 Cuando estén santificados, degüellen el cordero pascual y hagan los preparativos para sus hermanos según la Palabra de Yavé dada por medio de Moisés.

And having been sanctified, immolate the Passover. And then prepare your brothers, so that they may be able to act in accord with the words which the Lord has spoken by the hand of Moses.”

7 El rey Josías ofreció a los hijos del pueblo todo para las ofrendas pascuales: 30.000 ovejas, corderos, cabritos y 3.000 becerros, los cuales eran de la hacienda del rey.

After this, Josiah gave to all the people, those who had been found there at the solemnity of the Passover, thirty thousand lambs and young goats from the flocks, and other kinds of small cattle, and also three thousand oxen. All these were from the substance of the king.

8 También sus jefes dieron ofrendas voluntarias al pueblo, a los sacerdotes y a los levitas. Hilcías, Zacarías y Jehiel, administradores de la Casa de ʼElohim, dieron 2.600 corderos y 300 becerros a los sacerdotes para celebrar la Pascua.

Also, his rulers offered what they had vowed freely, as much for the people as for the priests and Levites. Moreover, Hilkiah, and Zechariah, and Jehiel, rulers of the house of the Lord, gave to the priests, in order to observe the Passover, two thousand six hundred small cattle, and three hundred oxen.

9 Asimismo Conanías y sus hermanos Semaías y Natanael, Hasabías, Jeiel y Josabad, jefes de los levitas, ofrecieron a los levitas 5.000 corderos y 500 becerros para los sacrificios pascuales.

And Conaniah, with Shemaiah and Nethanel, his brothers, indeed also Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, rulers of the Levites, gave to the rest of the Levites, in order to celebrate the Passover, five thousand small cattle, and five hundred oxen.

10 De este modo fue preparado el servicio. Los sacerdotes y los levitas se colocaron en su puesto según sus turnos, según el mandato del rey.

And the ministry was prepared. And the priests stood in their office, and the Levites also stood in their companies, according to the order of the king.

11 Degollaron la pascua, y los sacerdotes rociaban la sangre que recibían de mano de los levitas, mientras los levitas los desollaban.

And the Passover was immolated. And the priests sprinkled the blood with their hand, and the Levites drew away the pelts of the holocausts.

12 Luego quitaban los holocaustos para distribuirlos según las casas paternas, para que ellos los ofrecieran a Yavé, como está escrito en el rollo de Moisés. También hacían así con los becerros.

And they put these aside, so that they might give them to each one, by their houses and families, and so that they might be offered to the Lord, just as it was written in the book of Moses. And with the oxen, they acted similarly.

13 Asaron la pascua al fuego según la ordenanza. Cocieron las ofrendas santas en ollas, calderos y sartenes, y las repartieron rápidamente a todo el pueblo.

And they roasted the Passover above fire, in accord with what was written in the law. Yet truly, the victims of peace offerings they boiled in cauldrons and kettles and pots. And they promptly distributed these to all the common people.

14 Después prepararon para ellos mismos y para los sacerdotes, porque los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón ofrecían los holocaustos y las grasas hasta llegar la noche. Por tanto, los levitas tuvieron que preparar para ellos mismos y para los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón.

Then afterward, they made preparations for themselves and for the priests. Indeed, the priests had been occupied in the oblations of the holocausts and the fat offerings, even until night. Therefore, the Levites made preparations for themselves and for the priests, the sons of Aaron, last.

15 Los cantores, hijos de Asaf, estaban en sus puestos según el mandato de David, Asaf, Hemán y Jedutún, vidente del rey, mientras los porteros cuidaban todas las puertas. No era necesario que se apartaran del servicio, porque sus hermanos levitas hicieron los preparativos para ellos.

Now the singers, the sons of Asaph, were standing in their order, according to the instruction of David, and of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, the prophets of the king. Truly, the porters kept watch at each gate, so as not to depart from their ministry even for one moment. And for this reason, their brothers, the Levites, prepared foods for them.

16 Así quedó preparado todo el servicio de Yavé en aquel día para celebrar la Pascua y ofrecer holocaustos sobre el altar de Yavé, según el mandato del rey Josías.

And so, the entire worship ritual of the Lord was completed on that day, so that they observed the Passover and offered holocausts upon the altar of the Lord, in accord with the precept of king Josiah.

17 En aquel tiempo los hijos de Israel que estaban presentes celebraron la Pascua, y la solemnidad de los Panes sin Levadura durante siete días.

And the sons of Israel, who had been found there, kept the Passover at that time, with the solemnity of unleavened bread, for seven days.

18 No se observó una Pascua como ésa en Israel desde los días del profeta Samuel. Ninguno de los reyes de Israel celebró una Pascua como la que Josías celebró con los sacerdotes, los levitas y todos los de Judá e Israel que estaban presentes junto con los habitantes de Jerusalén.

There was no Passover similar to this one in Israel, from the days of Samuel the prophet. And neither did anyone, out of all the kings of Israel, keep such a Passover as did Josiah, the priests and Levites, and all those of Judah and Israel who had been found, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

19 Esta Pascua se celebró el año 18 del reinado de Josías.

In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah, this Passover was celebrated.

20 Después de todas estas cosas, cuando Josías reparó la Casa, Necao, rey de Egipto, subió a combatir en Carquemis, junto al Éufrates. Josías salió contra él.

After Josiah had repaired the temple, Neco, the king of Egypt, ascended to fight at Carchemish, beside the Euphrates. And Josiah went out to meet him.

21 Entonces [el rey Necao] le envió mensajeros que dijeron: ¿Qué tengo que ver contigo, oh rey de Judá? No vengo contra ti hoy, sino contra la casa con la cual estoy en guerra, y ʼElohim me dijo que me apresure. Deja de oponerte a ʼElohim, Quien está conmigo, para que Él no te destruya.

But he sent messengers to him, saying: “What is there between me and you, O king of Judah? I have not come against you today. Instead, I am fighting against another house, to which God instructed me to go promptly. Refrain from acting against God, who is with me, otherwise he may kill you.”

22 Pero Josías no se retiró, sino se disfrazó para luchar contra él, sin atender las palabras de Necao, que eran de la boca de ʼElohim, y fue a combatir en el valle de Meguido.

Josiah was not willing to return. Instead, he prepared for war against him. Neither would he agree to the words of Neco from the mouth of God. In truth, he traveled so that he might do battle in the field of Megiddo.

23 Los arqueros atacaron al rey Josías. Él les dijo a sus esclavos: ¡Sáquenme de aquí porque estoy gravemente herido!

And there, having been wounded by archers, he said to his servants: “Lead me away from the battle. For I have been severely wounded.”

24 Entonces sus esclavos lo sacaron de aquel carruaje y lo pusieron en el otro carruaje que tenía. Lo llevaron a Jerusalén, donde murió. Y fue sepultado en los sepulcros de sus antepasados. Todo Judá y Jerusalén hizo duelo por Josías.

And they took him from the chariot, into another chariot which was following him, as was the custom of kings. And they transported him to Jerusalem. And he died, and he was buried in the mausoleum of his fathers. And all of Judah and Jerusalem mourned for him,

25 Jeremías levantó una endecha sobre Josías. Todos los cantores y cantoras aluden a Josías en sus cánticos de lamentación hasta hoy. Lo establecieron como costumbre en Israel, y ciertamente están escritas en los Lamentos.

most of all Jeremiah. All the singing men and women repeat his lamentations over Josiah, even to the present day. And this has become like a law in Israel. Behold, it is found written in the Lamentations.

26 Los demás hechos de Josías, sus obras piadosas según lo escrito en la Ley de Yavé,

Now the rest of the words of Josiah, and his mercies, which were instructed by the law of the Lord,

27 y sus hechos, primeros y últimos, ciertamente están escritos en el rollo de los Reyes de Israel y Judá.

and also his works, the first and the last, have been written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
