1 Tesalonicenses 1
1 Pablo, Silvano y Timoteo, a la iglesia de [los] tesalonicenses, en Dios Padre y en el Señor Jesucristo. Gracia y paz a ustedes.
Paul and Sylvanus and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians, in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Damos siempre gracias a Dios por todos ustedes y hacemos incesantemente mención en nuestras conversaciones con Dios,
Grace and peace to you. We give thanks to God always for all of you, keeping the memory of you in our prayers without ceasing,
3 y recordamos sin cesar delante del Dios y Padre nuestro la obra de su fe, el trabajo del amor, y la perseverancia en la esperanza de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
remembering your work of faith, and hardship, and charity, and enduring hope, in our Lord Jesus Christ, before God our Father.
4 Hermanos amados por Dios, sabemos que ustedes fueron escogidos,
For we know, brothers, beloved of God, of your election.
5 porque nuestro mensaje de Buenas Noticias no llegó a ustedes solo con palabra, sino también con poder, con Espíritu Santo y con gran certidumbre. Saben cómo nos manifestamos a ustedes por amor.
For our Gospel has not been among you in word alone, but also in virtue, and in the Holy Spirit, and with a great fullness, in the same manner as you know we have acted among you for your sake.
6 Ustedes recibieron la Palabra con mucha aflicción. Fueron imitadores de nosotros y del Señor con gozo del Espíritu Santo,
And so, you became imitators of us and of the Lord, accepting the Word in the midst of great tribulation, but with the joy of the Holy Spirit.
7 hasta [llegar a ]ser modelo para todos los que creen en Macedonia y Acaya.
So have you become a pattern for all who believe in Macedonia and in Achaia.
8 Porque por medio de ustedes la Palabra del Señor se ha divulgado no solo en Macedonia y Acaya. En todo lugar se sabe de su fe en Dios, de tal modo que no necesitamos hablar algo.
For from you, the Word of the Lord was spread, not only in Macedonia and in Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith, which is toward God, has advanced so much so that we do not need to speak to you about anything.
9 Ellos mismos hablan de la manera como llegamos a ustedes, y cómo abandonaron los ídolos para ser esclavos del Dios vivo y verdadero,
For others are reporting among us of the kind of acceptance we had among you, and how you were converted from idols to God, to the service of the living and true God,
10 y esperar de los cielos a su Hijo, a Quien resucitó de entre [los] muertos, a Jesús, Quien nos librará de la ira que viene.
and to the expectation of his Son from heaven (whom he raised up from the dead), Jesus, who has rescued us from the approaching wrath.
