1 Pedro 4

1 Puesto que Cristo padeció por nosotros en el cuerpo, ustedes también ármense con el mismo pensamiento. Porque el que padeció en el cuerpo se apartó del pecado

Christ, then, having suffered in flesh, do, ye also, with the same purpose, arm yourselves, —because, he that hath suffered in flesh, hath done with sins, —

2 para no vivir el tiempo que le queda en el cuerpo en pasiones humanas, sino en la voluntad de Dios.

To the end that, no longer, in men’s covetings, but in God’s will, ye may live, the still remaining time.

3 Fue suficiente el tiempo pasado para hacer la voluntad de los gentiles, cuando nos movíamos en los deleites carnales, deseos apasionados, borracheras, orgías, exceso de bebidas y repugnantes idolatrías.

For, sufficient, is the bygone time—to have wrought out, the will of the nations, having gone on in wanton ways, covetings, wine-drinkings, revellings, drinking-bouts, and impious idolatries: —

4 Los que hablan mal de ustedes se asombran de que no corren con ellos en la misma corriente de relajamiento moral,

Wherein they are taken by surprise that ye run not with them into the same overflow of riotous excess, —uttering defamation:

5 los cuales darán cuenta al que está preparado para juzgar a los vivos y a [los] muertos.

Who shall render an account unto him who is holding in readiness to judge living and dead;

6 Las Buenas Noticias también fueron proclamadas a [los] que murieron, a fin de que sean juzgados en [el ]cuerpo según [los ]hombres, pero que vivan en espíritu según Dios.

For, unto this end, even unto the dead, was the glad-message delivered, —in order that they might be judged, indeed, according to men in flesh, but might live according to God in spirit.

7 Pero el fin de todas las cosas está cerca. Sean, pues, serios y sobrios en las conversaciones con Dios,

But, the end of all things, hath drawn near: —be of sound mind, therefore, and be sober for prayers;

8 y tengan ante todo el amor constante entre ustedes, porque [el] amor cubre una multitud de pecados.

Before all things, keeping, fervent, your love, among yourselves, because, love, covereth a multitude of sins;

9 Sean hospitalarios los unos con los otros, sin murmuración.

Showing hospitality one to another without murmuring, —

10 Cada uno ministre a los otros según el don que recibió como buenos administradores de [la] multiforme gracia de Dios.

Each one, according as he hath received a gift of favour, unto one another, ministering the same, as careful stewards of the manifold favour of God:

11 Si alguno habla, hable según las Palabras de Dios. Si alguno ministra, [hágalo] según el poder que Dios suministra para que en todo Dios sea glorificado por medio de Jesucristo, a Quien pertenecen la gloria y la soberanía por los siglos de los siglos. Amén. (aiōn g165)

If any one speaketh, as oracles of God, if any one ministereth, as of strength which, God, supplieth, —that, in all things, God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, —unto whom are the glory and the dominion, unto the ages of ages. Amen! (aiōn g165)

12 Amados, no se sorprendan por el fuego que se presenta para prueba, como si algo extraño les aconteciera.

Beloved! be not held in surprise by the burning among you, which, for putting you to the proof, is befalling you, as though a, surprising, thing were happening unto you;

13 Sino regocíjense por cuanto participan de los padecimientos de Cristo, para que también en la manifestación de su gloria se regocijen en gran manera.

But, in so far as ye are taking fellowship in the Christ’s sufferings, rejoice! in order that, in the revealing of his glory also, ye may rejoice with exultation:

14 Si sufren reproches por [el] Nombre de Cristo son inmensamente felices, porque el exaltado Espíritu de Dios y de la gloria reposa sobre ustedes.

If ye are being reproached in the name of Christ, happy [are ye]! Because, the Spirit, of the glory, and the [Spirit] of God, unto you is bringing rest.

15 Ninguno de ustedes padezca como homicida, ladrón, malhechor o por meterse en lo ajeno.

For let, none of you, be suffering as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil-doer, or as one prying into other men’s affairs;

16 Pero si alguno [padece] por ser cristiano, no se avergüence, sino glorifique a Dios por este nombre.

But, if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but be glorifying God in this name.

17 Porque es tiempo de que comience el juicio en la casa de Dios. Si comienza por nosotros, ¿cuál será el fin de los que desobedecen las Buenas Noticias de Dios?

For it is the ripe time for the judgment to begin with the house of God; but, if first with us, what shall be the end of them who yield not unto the glad-message of God?

18 Y: Si el justo se salva con dificultad, ¿Dónde se hallará el impío y el pecador?

And, if, the righteous man, is, with difficulty, saved, where then shall, the ungodly and sinful man, appear?

19 Por tanto los que padecen según la voluntad de Dios, encomienden sus almas al fiel Creador y hagan lo bueno.

So then, let, them who are even suffering, according to the will of God, unto a faithful Creator, be committing their souls, in well-doing.
