1 Reyes 15

1 El año 18 del rey Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, Abiam comenzó a reinar sobre Judá.

And in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam son of Nebat, Abijam has reigned over Judah;

2 Reinó tres años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Maaca, hija de Abisalón.

he has reigned three years in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Maachah daughter of Abishalom;

3 Vivió en todos los pecados que su padre cometió antes de él. Su corazón no fue íntegro con Yavé su ʼElohim, como el corazón de David su antepasado.

and he walks in all the sins of his father that he did before him, and his heart has not been perfect with his God YHWH, as the heart of his father David;

4 Pero por amor a David, Yavé su ʼElohim le dio una lámpara en Jerusalén, al levantar después de él a un hijo suyo, y mantener en pie a Jerusalén,

but for David’s sake his God YHWH has given to him a lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem,

5 porque David hizo lo recto ante Yavé, sin apartarse en ninguna cosa que Él le ordenó todos los días de su vida, excepto en el asunto de Urías heteo.

in that David did that which [is] right in the eyes of YHWH, and did not turn aside from all that He commanded him all [the] days of his life—except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite;

6 Hubo guerra entre Roboam y Jeroboam todo el tiempo de ambos.

and there has been war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

7 Los demás hechos y cosas de Abiam, ¿no están escritos en el rollo de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Hubo guerra entre Abiam y Jeroboam.

And the rest of the matters of Abijam and all that he did, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And there has been war between Abijam and Jeroboam;

8 Abiam descansó con sus antepasados y lo sepultaron en la ciudad de David. Su hijo Asa reinó en su lugar.

and Abijam lies with his fathers, and they bury him in the City of David, and his son Asa reigns in his stead.

9 El año 20 de Jeroboam, rey de Israel, Asa comenzó a reinar sobre Judá,

And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa has reigned over Judah,

10 y reinó 41 años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre fue Maaca, hija de Abisalón.

and he has reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Maachah daughter of Abishalom.

11 Asa hizo lo recto ante Yavé, como David su antepasado.

And Asa does that which [is] right in the eyes of YHWH, like his father David,

12 Barrió a los sodomitas del país y quitó todos los ídolos que sus antepasados hicieron.

and removes the whoremongers out of the land, and turns aside all the idols that his fathers made;

13 También depuso a su madre Maaca de ser reina madre, porque ella hizo una horrorosa imagen de Asera. Asa taló la imagen horrorosa y la quemó junto al arroyo de Cedrón,

and also his mother Maachah—he turns her aside from being mistress, in that she made a horrible thing for an Asherah, and Asa cuts down her horrible thing, and burns [it] by the Brook of Kidron;

14 pero los lugares altos no fueron quitados. Sin embargo, el corazón de Asa fue íntegro ante Yavé todos sus días.

but the high places have not been removed; only, the heart of Asa has been perfect with YHWH [for] all his days,

15 Llevó lo que su padre consagró a la Casa de Yavé, y plata, oro y utensilios que él mismo consagró.

and he brings in the sanctified things of his father, and his own sanctified things, to the house of YHWH: silver, and gold, and vessels.

16 Hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa, rey de Israel, todo el tiempo de ambos.

And there has been war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel [for] all their days,

17 Baasa, rey de Israel, subió contra Judá. Fortificó a Ramá, para impedir que alguno accediera a Asa, rey de Judá, o saliera de él.

and Baasha king of Israel goes up against Judah, and builds Ramah, not to permit anyone going out and coming in to Asa king of Judah.

18 Entonces Asa tomó toda la plata y el oro que quedaron en los tesoros de la Casa de Yavé y la casa real, y los entregó en mano de sus servidores. El rey Asa los envió a Ben-hadad, hijo de Tabrimón, hijo de Hezión, rey de Siria, que vivía en Damasco, y dijo:

And Asa takes all the silver and the gold that are left in the treasures of the house of YHWH, and the treasures of the house of the king, and gives them into the hand of his servants, and King Asa sends them to Ben-Hadad, son of Tabrimmon, son of Hezion king of Aram, who is dwelling in Damascus, saying,

19 ¡Haya un tratado entre tú y yo, como hubo entre mi padre y tu padre! Mira, te envío un obsequio de plata y oro. ¡Vé y rompe tu tratado con Baasa, rey de Israel, para que se aparte de mí!

“A covenant [is] between me and you, between my father and your father; behold, I have sent a reward of silver and gold to you; go, break your covenant with Baasha king of Israel, and he goes up from off me.”

20 Ben-hadad escuchó al rey Asa. Envió a los jefes de sus ejércitos contra las ciudades de Israel y atacó a Ijón, Dan, Abel-bet-macá y toda la región de Cineret, además de todo el territorio de Neftalí.

And Ben-Hadad listens to King Asa, and sends the heads of the forces that he has against cities of Israel, and strikes Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-Beth-Maachah, and all Chinneroth, besides all the land of Naphtali;

21 Sucedió que cuando Baasa oyó esto, dejó de fortificar Ramá y permaneció en Tirsa.

and it comes to pass at Baasha’s hearing, that he ceases from building Ramah, and dwells in Tirzah.

22 Entonces el rey Asa convocó a todo Judá sin excepción. Se llevaron las piedras y la madera de Ramá, con las cuales Baasa la estaba fortificando, y con ellas el rey Asa edificó Geba de Benjamín y Mizpa.

And King Asa has summoned all Judah—there is none exempt—and they lift up the stones of Ramah, and its wood, that Baasha has built, and King Asa builds with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

23 Los demás hechos y cosas de Asa, todo su poderío y las ciudades que edificó, ¿no están escritos en el rollo de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Pero en los días de su vejez, enfermó de los pies.

And the rest of all the matters of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? Only, at the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet;

24 Asa descansó con sus antepasados y fue sepultado con ellos en la ciudad de David su antepasado. Su hijo Josafat reinó en su lugar.

and Asa lies with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of his father David, and his son Jehoshaphat reigns in his stead.

25 El año segundo de Asa, rey de Judá, Nadab, hijo de Jeroboam, comenzó a reinar en Israel, y reinó dos años.

And Nadab son of Jeroboam has reigned over Israel, in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigns over Israel two years,

26 Hizo lo malo ante Yavé, anduvo en el camino de su padre, y con sus pecados estimuló a pecar a Israel.

and does evil in the eyes of YHWH, and goes in the way of his father, and in his sin that he made Israel to sin.

27 Baasa, hijo de Ahías, de la tribu de Isacar, conspiró contra él, y lo mató en Gibetón, ciudad de los filisteos, cuando Nadab y todo Israel tenían sitiada a Gibetón.

And Baasha son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspires against him, and Baasha strikes him in Gibbethon, which [belonged] to the Philistines—and Nadab and all Israel are laying siege against Gibbethon—

28 En el tercer año de Asa, rey de Judá, Baasa mató a Nadab, y reinó en su lugar.

indeed, Baasha puts him to death in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigns in his stead.

29 Sucedió que tan pronto como fue rey, mató a todos los de la familia de Jeroboam. No dejó con vida a ninguno de los de Jeroboam, según la Palabra que Yavé habló por medio de su esclavo Ahías silonita,

And it comes to pass, at his reigning, he has struck the whole house of Jeroboam, he has not left any breathing to Jeroboam until his destroying him, according to the word of YHWH, that He spoke by the hand of His servant Ahijah the Shilonite,

30 a causa de los pecados que cometió Jeroboam, con los cuales estimuló a pecar a Israel, cuya acción provocó a ira a Yavé, ʼElohim de Israel.

because of the sins of Jeroboam that he sinned, and that he caused Israel to sin, by his provocation with which he provoked YHWH, God of Israel, to anger.

31 Los demás hechos y cosas de Nadab, ¿no están escritos en el rollo de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

And the rest of the matters of Nadab and all that he did, are they not written on the scroll of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

32 Hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa, rey de Israel, todo el tiempo de ambos.

And there has been war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel [for] all their days.

33 En el tercer año de Asa, rey de Judá, Baasa, hijo de Ahías, comenzó a reinar sobre todo Israel en Tirsa, y reinó 24 años.

In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha son of Ahijah has reigned over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty-four years,

34 Él hizo lo malo ante Yavé, anduvo en el camino de Jeroboam, y con su pecado estimuló el pecado en Israel.

and he does evil in the eyes of YHWH, and walks in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin that he caused Israel to sin.
