1 Crónicas 20
1 Aconteció el año siguiente, en el tiempo cuando los reyes acostumbran salir a la guerra, que Joab sacó las fuerzas del ejército. Destruyó la tierra de los hijos de Amón y sitió a Rabá. Sin embargo, David permaneció en Jerusalén, mientras Joab atacaba y destruía a Rabá.
Now it happened that, after the course of a year, in the time when kings usually go forth to war, Joab gathered an army with experienced soldiers, and he laid waste to the land of the sons of Ammon. And he continued on and besieged Rabbah. But David was staying in Jerusalem when Joab struck Rabbah and destroyed it.
2 David tomó la corona de la cabeza del rey de Rabá. Comprobó que pesaba 33 kilogramos de oro y había en ella piedras preciosas. Fue colocada sobre la cabeza de David. También sacó despojo de la ciudad en gran abundancia.
Then David took the crown of Milcom from his head, and he found in it the weight of one talent of gold, and very precious gems. And he made for himself a diadem from it. Also, he took the best spoils of the city, which were very many.
3 Sacó también a la gente que estaba en ella y la obligó a trabajar con sierras, trillos de hierro y hachas. Así David hizo a todas las ciudades de los hijos de Amón. Y David regresó con todo el ejército a Jerusalén.
Then he led away the people who were in it. And he caused plows, and sleds, and iron chariots to go over them, so much so that they were cut apart and crushed. So did David treat all the cities of the sons of Ammon. And he returned with all his people to Jerusalem.
4 Después de esto aconteció que hubo otra guerra contra los filisteos en Gezer. Sibecai husatita mató a Sipai, uno de los descendientes de los gigantes, los cuales fueron sometidos.
After these things, a war was begun at Gezer against the Philistines, in which Sibbecai the Hushathite struck Sippai from the race of the Rephaim, and he humbled them.
5 Hubo otra guerra contra los filisteos. Elhanán, hijo de Jaír, mató a Lahmi, hermano de Goliat geteo, cuya asta de la lanza era como un rodillo de telar.

6 Volvió a haber guerra en Gat, donde había un hombre de gran estatura, el cual tenía seis dedos en pies y manos, un total de 24. También éste era descendiente de los gigantes.
Then too, another war occurred in Gath, in which there was a very tall man, having six digits, that is, all together twenty-four. This man too was born from the stock of the Rephaim.
7 Cuando desafió a Israel, lo mató Jonatán, hijo de Simea, hermano de David.
He blasphemed Israel. And Jonathan, the son of Shimea, the brother of David, struck him down.
8 Éstos eran descendientes de los gigantes de Gat, los cuales cayeron en mano de David y en mano de sus esclavos.
These were the sons of the Rephaim in Gath, who fell by the hand of David and his servants.
