1 Crónicas 11
1 Entonces todo Israel se congregó ante David en Hebrón y dijeron: Aquí estamos, somos hueso tuyo y carne tuya.
Then did all Israel gather themselves unto David unto Hebron, saying Behold, thy bone and thy flesh are we.
2 Porque en días anteriores, cuando aún Saúl era rey, tú sacabas y devolvías a Israel, y Yavé tu ʼElohim te dijo: Tú apacentarás a mi pueblo Israel y serás el soberano de mi pueblo Israel.
Already yesterday and even before, even when Saul was king, thou wast he that led out and brought in Israel; and the Lord, thy God, said unto thee, Thou shalt indeed feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be truly a chief over my people Israel.
3 Cuando los ancianos de Israel fueron ante el rey en Hebrón, David hizo un pacto delante de Yavé. Entonces ungieron a David como rey sobre Israel, según la Palabra que Yavé dio por medio de Samuel.
Thus came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the Lord; and they anointed David as king over Israel, according to the word of the Lord through means of Samuel.
4 Entonces David fue con todo Israel a Jerusalén, la cual es Jebús. Los jebuseos vivían en aquella tierra.
And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; and there were the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land.
5 Los habitantes de Jebús dijeron a David: No entrarás aquí. Pero David capturó la fortaleza de Sion, que es la Ciudad de David.
And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, Thou shalt not come in hither. Nevertheless David captured the strong-hold of Zion, the same is the City of David.
6 David dijo: El que primero ataque a los jebuseos será jefe y comandante. Entonces Joab, hijo de Sarvia, subió primero y fue designado comandante.
And David said, Whosoever doth smite the Jebusites at first shall be head and chief. Then did Joab the son of Zeruyah go up at first, and became head-man.
7 David vivió en la fortaleza. Por esto la llamaron Ciudad de David.
And David dwelt in the castle: therefore they called it, “The City of David.”
8 Edificó la ciudad alrededor, desde el terraplén hasta el muro. Joab restauró el resto de la ciudad.
And he built the city round about, even from the Millo as far as the surrounding district, and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
9 David se engrandecía cada vez más, porque Yavé de las huestes estaba con él.
And David want on, and became greater and greater, and the lord of hosts was with him.
10 Éstos son los principales valientes que respaldaron fuertemente a David. Lo ayudaron para designarlo rey de Israel, según la Palabra de Yavé.
These also are the principals of the mighty men whom David had, who held firmly with him in his kingdom, with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the Lord concerning Israel.
11 Éste es el número de los valientes que tuvo David: Jasobeam, hijo de Hacmoni, jefe de los 30, el cual blandió su lanza contra 300, a los cuales mató de una sola vez.
And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had: Jashoh'am, the son of Chachmoni, the chief of the captains, who lifted up his spear against three hundred slain at one time.
12 Después de él estaba Eleazar, hijo de Dodo, el ahohíta. Él era uno de los tres valientes.
And after him was El'asar the son of Dodo, the Achochite, who was one of the three mighty men.
13 Éste estuvo con David en Pas-damim cuando los filisteos se reunieron allí para la batalla. Había una parcela de tierra llena de cebada. Al huir el pueblo de los filisteos,
He was with David at Pass-dammim, and the Philistines were gathered together there to battle, and there was a piece of ground full of barley; and the people had fled from before the Philistines.
14 él se colocó firme en medio de la parcela y la defendió. Derrotó a los filisteos y Yavé le dio una gran victoria.
And they placed themselves in the midst of that piece [of ground], and they delivered it, and smote the Philistines: and the Lord helped [them] with a great victory.
15 Tres de los 30 principales bajaron a la roca [donde estaba] David, en la cueva de Adulam, mientras los filisteos acampaban en el valle de Refaim.
And these three, the chiefs of the thirty, went down to the rock to David, to the cave of 'Adullam; and the camp of the Philistines was pitched in the valley of Rephaim.
16 David estaba entonces en la fortaleza y una guarnición de los filisteos estaba en Belén.
And David was then in the strong-hold, and an outpost of the Philistines was then at Beth-lechem.
17 Entonces David sintió un vivo deseo: ¡Quién me diera a beber agua del pozo de Belén, que está en la puerta!
And David longed, and said, Oh that some one would bring me water to drink out of the well of Beth-lechem, which is by the gate!
18 Entonces los tres irrumpieron en el campamento de los filisteos, sacaron agua del pozo de Belén que está junto a la puerta y se la llevaron a David. Pero David no la quiso beber, sino la derramó ante Yavé y dijo:
And the three broke through the camp of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lechem, which was by the gate, and carried it, and brought it to David; but David would not drink thereof, and poured it out unto the Lord.
19 ¡Lejos esté de mí, oh mi ʼElohim, hacer esto! ¿Beberé la sangre de estos hombres que con riesgo de sus vidas la trajeron? Y no quiso beberla. Aquellos tres valientes hicieron esto.
And he said, Far be it from me, before my God, that I should do this: shall I drink the blood of these men that went at the risk of their lives? for at the risk of their lives did they bring it; and thus he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
20 Abisai, hermano de Joab, era el principal de los 30, el cual blandió su lanza contra 300 y los mató, y tuvo renombre entre los tres.
And Abshai the brother of Joab was the chief of these three; and he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain, and had a name among the three.
21 Fue el más ilustre de los 30 y fue su jefe, pero no igualó a los tres primeros.
Of the three, he was more honored than the two, wherefore he became their captain; he nevertheless attained not unto the three [in prowess].
22 Benaía, hijo de Joiada, hijo de un hombre valiente de grandes hazañas, de Cabseel, venció a los hijos de Ariel de Moab. Un día de nieve, bajó y mató a un león dentro de un foso.
Banayah the son of Jehoyada', the son of a valiant man, great in many acts, of Kah-zeel: he it was that smote the two lion-like heroes of Moab; he also went down and smote a lion in the midst of a pit on a day when it snowed.
23 También mató a un egipcio, hombre de 2,25 metros de estatura. El egipcio llevaba una lanza como un rodillo de tejedor. Pero [Benaía] bajó con un cayado, le arrebató la lanza de la mano al egipcio y lo mató con la lanza de éste.
And he smote an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and he snatched the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
24 Esto hizo Benaía, hijo de Joiada, y tuvo tanto renombre como los tres valientes.
These things did Benayah the son of Jehoyada'; and he had a name among the mighty men.
25 Ciertamente fue el más distinguido de los 30, pero no igualó a los tres primeros. David lo designó jefe de su guardia personal.
Behold, he was indeed more honored than the thirty; but he attained not to the first three. And David appointed him over his private council.
26 Los valientes de los ejércitos eran: Asael, hermano de Joab, Elhanán, hijo de Dodo, de Belén,
And the mighty men of the armies were, 'Assahel the brother of Joab, Elchanan the son of Dodo of Beth-lechem.
27 Samote el harorita, Heles el pelonita,
Shammoth the Harorite, Chelez the Pelonite,
28 Ira, hijo de Iques tecoíta, Abiezer anatotita,
'Ira the son of 'Ikkesh the Theko'ite, Abi'ezer the 'Antothite,
29 Sibecai husatita, Ilai ahohíta,
Sibbechai the Chushathite, 'Ilai the Achochite,
30 Maharai netofatita, Heled, hijo de Baana netofatita,
Maharai the Netophathite, Cheled the son of Ba'anah the Netophathite,
31 Itai, hijo de Ribai, de Gabaa de los hijos de Benjamín, Benaía piratonita,
Ithai the son of Ribai of Gib'ah, of the children of 'Benjamin, Benayah the Pir'athonite.
32 Hurai de los arroyos de Gaas, Abiel el arbatita,
Churai of the Nachale-Ga'ash, Abiel the 'Arbathite,
33 Azmavet barhumita, Eliaba saalbonita,
'Azmaveth the Bacharumite, Elyachba the Sha'albonite,
34 los hijos de Hasem gizonita, Jonatán, hijo de Sagé, ararita,
Bnai-hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shage the Hararite.
35 Ahiam, hijo de Sacar ararita, Elifal, hijo de Ur,
Achiam the son of Sachar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur,
36 Hefer mequeratita, Ahías pelonita,
Chepher the Mecherathite, Achiyah the Pelonite.
37 Hezro carmelita, Naarai, hijo de Ezbai,
Chezro the Carmelite, Na'arai the son of Ezbai,
38 Joel, hermano de Natán, Mibhar, hijo de Hagrai,
Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibchar the son of Hagri,
39 Selec amonita, Naharai beerotita, escudero de Joab, hijo de Sarvia,
Zelek the 'Ammonite, Nachrai the Berothite, the armor bearer of Joab the son of Zeruyah,
40 Ira el itrita, Gareb el itrita,
'Ira the Yithrite, Gareb the Yithrite,
41 Urías heteo, Zabad, hijo de Ahlai,
Uriyah the Hittite, Zabad the son of Achlai,
42 Adina, hijo de Siza rubenita, jefe de los rubenitas, y con él 30,
'Adina the son of Shiza the Reubenite, a chief of the Reubenites, and with him were thirty [men].
43 Hanán, hijo de Maaca, Josafat mitnita,
Chanan the son of Ma'achah, and Joshaphat the Mithnite.
44 Uzías astarotita, Sama y Jehiel, hijos de Hota aroerita,
'Uzziya the 'Ashterathite, Shama' and Je'iel the sons of Chothan the 'Aro'erite,
45 Jediael, hijo de Simri, y su hermano Joha tizita,
Jedi'ael the son of Shimri, and Jocha his brother, the Thizite,
46 Eliel mahavita, Jerebai y Josavía, hijos de Elnaam, Itma moabita,
Eliel the Machavite, and Jerihal, and Joshavyah, the son of Elna'am, and Yithmah the Moabite,
47 Eliel, Obed, Haasiel mesobaíta.
Eliel, and 'Obed, and Ja'assiel the Mezobayite.
