Zacarías 7
1 En el cuarto año del rey Darío, la palabra de Yahvé llegó a Zacarías en el cuarto día del noveno mes, el mes de Chislev.
And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, [that] the word of the LORD came to Zechariah in the fourth [day] of the ninth month, [even] in Chisleu;
2 El pueblo de Betel envió a Sharezer y a Regem Melec y a sus hombres a implorar el favor de Yahvé,
When they had sent to the house of God Sherezer and Regem-melech, and their men, to pray before the LORD,
3 y a hablar con los sacerdotes de la casa de Yahvé de los Ejércitos y con los profetas, diciendo: “¿Debo llorar en el quinto mes, separándome, como he hecho estos tantos años?”
[And] to speak to the priests who [were] in the house of the LORD of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?
4 Entonces vino a mí la palabra de Yahvé de los Ejércitos, diciendo:
Then came the word of the LORD of hosts to me, saying,
5 “Habla a todo el pueblo de la tierra y a los sacerdotes, diciendo: ‘Cuando ayunasteis y llorasteis en el quinto y en el séptimo mes durante estos setenta años, ¿habéis ayunado en absoluto para mí, realmente para mí?
Speak to all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh [month], even those seventy years, did ye at all fast to me, [even] to me?
6 Cuando coméis y cuando bebéis, ¿no coméis para vosotros y bebéis para vosotros?
And when ye ate, and when ye drank, did ye not eat [for yourselves], and drink [for yourselves]?
7 ¿No son éstas las palabras que Yahvé proclamó por medio de los antiguos profetas, cuando Jerusalén estaba habitada y en prosperidad, y sus ciudades alrededor, y el sur y la llanura estaban habitados?”
[Should ye] not [hear] the words which the LORD hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and her cities around her, when [men] inhabited the south and the plain?
8 La palabra de Yahvé vino a Zacarías, diciendo:
And the word of the LORD came to Zechariah, saying,
9 “Así ha hablado Yahvé de los Ejércitos, diciendo: ‘Ejecutad el juicio verdadero, y mostrad bondad y compasión cada uno con su hermano.
Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassions every man to his brother:
10 No opriman a la viuda, ni al huérfano, ni al extranjero, ni al pobre; y que ninguno de ustedes piense en su corazón el mal contra su hermano.’
And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
11 Pero no quisieron escuchar, y volvieron la espalda, y se taparon los oídos para no oír.
But they refused to hearken, and withdrew the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.
12 Sí, endurecieron su corazón como el pedernal, para no oír la ley y las palabras que el Señor de los Ejércitos había enviado por su Espíritu a través de los antiguos profetas. Por eso vino una gran ira de parte del Señor de los Ejércitos.
Yes, they made their hearts [as] an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts hath sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.
13 Ha sucedido que, como él llamó y ellos no quisieron escuchar, así llamarán y yo no escucharé”, dijo el Señor de los Ejércitos;
Therefore it is come to pass, [that] as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:
14 “sino que los dispersaré con un torbellino entre todas las naciones que no han conocido. Así, la tierra quedó desolada después de ellos, de modo que nadie pasó ni regresó; porque hicieron desolada la tierra placentera.”
But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate.
