Tito 3
1 Recuérdales que se sometan a los gobernantes y a las autoridades, que sean obedientes, que estén dispuestos a toda buena obra,
Put them in mind to submit themselves to governments, to authorities, to obey magistrates, to be ready for every good work,
2 que no hablen mal de nadie, que no sean contenciosos, que sean amables, mostrando toda la humildad hacia todos los hombres.
to speak evil of no one, to be averse to strife, forbearing, showing all meekness to all men.
3 Porque también nosotros fuimos en otro tiempo insensatos, desobedientes, engañados, sirviendo a diversos deseos y placeres, viviendo en la malicia y la envidia, odiosos y odiándose unos a otros.
For we ourselves also were once foolish, disobedient, going astray, slaves to divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.
4 Pero cuando se manifestó la bondad de Dios, nuestro Salvador, y su amor hacia los hombres,
But when the kindness and love for men of God our Saviour appeared,
5 no por obras de justicia que nosotros mismos hubiéramos hecho, sino según su misericordia, nos salvó mediante el lavado de la regeneración y la renovación por el Espíritu Santo,
not by works of righteousness which we did, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the bath of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
6 que derramó sobre nosotros abundantemente por medio de Jesucristo, nuestro Salvador;
which he poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Saviour,
7 para que, justificados por su gracia, fuésemos hechos herederos según la esperanza de la vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
that having been accepted as righteous by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of everlasting life. (aiōnios g166)
8 Esta afirmación es fiel, y sobre estas cosas deseo que insistáis con confianza, para que los que han creído a Dios se preocupen por mantener las buenas obras. Estas cosas son buenas y provechosas para los hombres;
True is the saying; and these things I desire that thou affirm earnestly, that they who have believed in God may be careful to practise good works. These things are good and profitable to men;
9 pero evitad las discusiones necias, las genealogías, las contiendas y las disputas sobre la ley, porque son inútiles y vanas.
but avoid foolish questionings, and genealogies, and strifes, and contentions about the Law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
10 Evitad a un hombre faccioso después de una primera y segunda amonestación,
A man that stirs up divisions, after a first and second admonition, avoid;
11 sabiendo que el tal es pervertido y pecador, estando autocondenado.
knowing that he that is such is utterly perverted, and sinneth, being self-condemned.
12 Cuando te envíe a Artemas, o a Tíquico, procura venir conmigo a Nicópolis, pues he decidido invernar allí.
When I shall have sent Artemas to thee, or Tychicus, use diligence to come to me to Nicopolis; for there I have determined to pass the winter.
13 Enviad prontamente al abogado Zenas y a Apolos, para que no les falte nada.
Zenas the lawyer and Apollos forward on their journey diligently, that nothing may be wanting to them.
14 Que nuestro pueblo aprenda también a mantener las buenas obras para satisfacer las necesidades necesarias, para que no sea infructuoso.
And let those also who belong to us learn to practise good works for the necessary wants that arise, that they may not be unfruitful.
15 Os saludan todos los que están conmigo. Saluden a los que nos aman en la fe. Que la gracia esté con todos vosotros. Amén.
All that are with me salute thee. Salute those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.
