Romanos 10

1 Hermanos, el deseo de mi corazón y mi oración a Dios es por Israel, para que se salve.

Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is for their salvation.

2 Porque doy testimonio de ellos de que tienen celo por Dios, pero no según el conocimiento.

For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to real knowledge.

3 Porque ignorando la justicia de Dios, y tratando de establecer su propia justicia, no se sometieron a la justicia de Dios.

For they, failing to understand God's righteousness and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to God's righteousness.

4 Porque Cristo es el cumplimiento de la ley para la justicia de todo el que cree.

Now for everyone who believes into righteousness, Christ is the end of the law

5 Porque Moisés escribe sobre la justicia de la ley: “El que las cumpla vivirá por ellas”.

—Moses writes about the righteousness that is from the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.”

6 Pero la justicia que es de la fe dice esto: “No digas en tu corazón: “¿Quién subirá al cielo? (es decir, hacer bajar a Cristo);

But the righteousness that is from faith speaks like this: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down)

7 o, ‘¿Quién bajará al abismo? (es decir, hacer subir a Cristo de entre los muertos)”. (Abyssos g12)

“or, ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). (Abyssos g12)

8 Pero, ¿qué dice? “La palabra está cerca de ti, en tu boca y en tu corazón”, es decir, la palabra de fe que predicamos:

So what does it say? “The message is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the message of faith that we proclaim):

9 que si confiesas con tu boca que Jesús es el Señor y crees en tu corazón que Dios lo resucitó de entre los muertos, te salvarás.

That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 Porque con el corazón se cree para obtener la justicia, y con la boca se confiesa para obtener la salvación.

Because with the heart one believes into righteousness, and with the mouth one promises into salvation.

11 Porque la Escritura dice: “El que cree en él no quedará defraudado”.

Because the Scripture says: “Everyone who believes on Him will never be put to shame”;

12 Porque no hay distinción entre judío y griego, pues el mismo Señor es Señor de todos, y es rico para todos los que le invocan.

because there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, since the same Lord of all is rich to all who call upon Him;

13 Porque “Todo el que invoque el nombre del Señor se salvará”.

because: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

14 ¿Cómo, pues, invocarán a aquel en quien no han creído? ¿Cómo creerán en él si no han oído? ¿Cómo oirán sin un predicador?

How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe on Him of whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without someone proclaiming it?

15 ¿Y cómo van a predicar si no son enviados? Como está escrito: “Qué hermosos son los pies de los que anuncian la Buena Nueva de la paz, que traen buenas noticias”.

And how will they proclaim unless they are sent? As it is written: “How timely is the arrival of those who bring good news of peace, of those who announce the good things.”

16 Pero no todos escucharon las buenas noticias. Porque Isaías dice: “Señor, ¿quién ha creído en nuestro informe?”

(However, they did not all obey the gospel; because Isaiah says: “Lord, who has believed our message?”)

17 Así que la fe viene por el oír, y el oír por la palabra de Dios.

So, the faith is from a message, and that message is by the Word of God.

18 Pero yo digo, ¿no escucharon? Sí, ciertamente, “Su sonido se extendió por toda la tierra, sus palabras hasta los confines del mundo”.

But I say, did they really not hear? Indeed yes: “Their voice has gone out into all the earth, and their spoken words to the ends of the inhabited world.”

19 Pero yo pregunto, ¿no lo sabía Israel? Primero dice Moisés, “Te provocaré a los celos con lo que no es una nación. Te haré enfadar con una nación vacía de entendimiento”.

Again I say, did Israel really not know? First Moses says: “I will provoke you to jealousy by a non-nation, I will move you to anger by a senseless nation.”

20 Isaías es muy audaz y dice, “Me encontraron los que no me buscaron. Me revelé a los que no preguntaron por mí”.

But Isaiah is so bold as to say: “I was found by those who were not seeking me; I was revealed to those who were not asking for me.”

21 Pero sobre Israel dice: “Todo el día extendí mis manos a un pueblo desobediente y contrario”.

But concerning Israel he says: “All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”
