Apocalipsis 17
1 Uno de los siete ángeles que tenían las siete copas vino y habló conmigo diciendo: “Ven aquí. Te mostraré el juicio de la gran prostituta que está sentada sobre muchas aguas,
And there came one of the seven angels, that had the seven vials, and talked with me and said, Come hither, and I will shew thee the judgement of the great harlot, that sitteth upon many waters:
2 con la cual los reyes de la tierra cometieron inmoralidad sexual. Los que habitan en la tierra se embriagaron con el vino de su inmoralidad sexual”.
with whom the kings of the earth have committed whoredom, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her whoredom.
3 Me llevó en el Espíritu a un desierto. Vi a una mujer sentada sobre una bestia de color escarlata, llena de nombres blasfemos, que tenía siete cabezas y diez cuernos.
And he transported me in spirit into the wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet-coloured beast, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 La mujer estaba vestida de púrpura y escarlata, y adornada con oro y piedras preciosas y perlas, y tenía en la mano una copa de oro llena de abominaciones y de las impurezas de la inmoralidad sexual de la tierra.
And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand, full of the stench and filth of her whoredom.
5 Y en su frente estaba escrito un nombre: “MISTERIO, BABILONIA LA GRANDE, LA MADRE DE LAS PROSTITUCIONES Y DE LAS ABOMINACIONES DE LA TIERRA”.
And upon her forehead was a name written, "Mystery, Babylon the great, the mother of harlots, and of the abominations of the earth."
6 Vi a la mujer ebria de la sangre de los santos y de la sangre de los mártires de Jesús. Cuando la vi, me maravillé con gran asombro.
And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great amazement.
7 El ángel me dijo: “¿Por qué te asombras? Te diré el misterio de la mujer y de la bestia que la lleva, que tiene las siete cabezas y los diez cuernos.
And the angel said unto me, Why dost thou wonder? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
8 La bestia que has visto era, y no es; y está a punto de subir del abismo e ir a la destrucción. Los que habitan en la tierra y cuyos nombres no están escritos en el libro de la vida desde la fundación del mundo se maravillarán cuando vean que la bestia era, y no es, y estará presente. (Abyssos g12)
The beast, which thou sawest, was, and is not; but will rise out of the abyss, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth (whose names are not written on the book of life from the foundation of the world) shall wonder, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is to be. (Abyssos g12)
9 Aquí está la mente que tiene sabiduría. Las siete cabezas son siete montes sobre los que se sienta la mujer.
To this the mind that hath wisdom will attend: for the seven heads are seven hills, on which the woman sitteth.
10 Son siete reyes. Cinco han caído, uno es, y el otro aún no ha venido. Cuando venga, debe continuar un poco más.
And there are seven kings: five are fallen, one is, and another is not yet come; and when he cometh, he is to continue but a little while.
11 La bestia que era, y no es, es también la octava, y es de las siete; y va a la destrucción.
And the beast that was, and is not, he is the eighth, and is as one of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
12 Los diez cuernos que has visto son diez reyes que aún no han recibido ningún reino, pero reciben autoridad como reyes con la bestia por una hora.
And the ten horns, which thou sawest, are ten kings, who have not yet received a kingdom, but shall receive power as kings for a limited time with the beast.
13 Estos tienen una sola mente, y dan su poder y autoridad a la bestia.
These are of one mind, and will give their power and authority to the beast.
14 Estos guerrearán contra el Cordero, y el Cordero los vencerá, porque es Señor de señores y Rey de reyes; y los que están con él son llamados, elegidos y fieles.”
These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and those that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
15 Me dijo: “Las aguas que viste, donde se sienta la prostituta, son pueblos, multitudes, naciones y lenguas.
And he said unto me, The waters which thou sawest, whereon the harlot sitteth, are people, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
16 Los diez cuernos que has visto, ellos y la bestia odiarán a la prostituta, la desolarán, la desnudarán, comerán su carne y la quemarán completamente con fuego.
And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall devour her flesh, and burn her with fire.
17 Porque Dios ha puesto en sus corazones que hagan lo que él tiene en mente, que sean de un mismo parecer, y que entreguen su reino a la bestia, hasta que se cumplan las palabras de Dios.
For God hath put it into their hearts to do according to his mind, and to perform one and the same purpose, even to give their kingdoms to the beast, till the words of God be accomplished.
18 La mujer que has visto es la gran ciudad que reina sobre los reyes de la tierra.”
And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which beareth rule over the kings of the earth.
