Salmos 87

1 Un Salmo de los hijos de Coré; una Canción. Su fundamento está en los montes sagrados.

The city that Yahweh established is on his sacred hill.

2 Yahvé ama las puertas de Sión más que todas las moradas de Jacob.

He loves that city, Jerusalem, more than he loves any other city in Israel.

3 Cosas gloriosas se dicen de ti, ciudad de Dios. (Selah)

[You people in] [APO] the city that God (owns/lives in), people say wonderful things about your city.

4 Registraré a Rahab y a Babilonia entre los que me reconocen. Mira, Filistea, Tiro, y también Etiopía: “Este nació allí”.

[Some of those who know about God are the people of] Egypt and Babylonia, and also [the people of] Philistia and Tyre and Ethiopia; [some day they all] will say, “[Although I was not born in Jerusalem], [because I belong to Yahweh, it is as though] I was born there.”

5 Sí, de Sión se dirá: “Éste y aquél han nacido en ella”. el mismo Altísimo la establecerá.

And concerning Jerusalem, people will say [“It is as though] everyone was born there, and Almighty God will cause that city to remain strong/safe/secure.”

6 Yahvé contará, cuando escriba los pueblos, “Este nació allí”. (Selah)

Yahweh will write a list of [the names of] the people of various groups [who belong to him], and he will say that [he considers them] all to be citizens of Jerusalem.

7 Tanto los que cantan como los que bailan dicen, “Todos mis resortes están en ti”.

They will all dance and sing, saying, “Jerusalem is the source of all our blessings.”
