Salmos 8

1 Para el músico principal; en un instrumento de Gath. Un salmo de David. Yahvé, nuestro Señor, ¡qué majestuoso es tu nombre en toda la tierra! Has puesto tu gloria por encima de los cielos.

For the end, concerning the wine presses, a Psalm of David. O Lord, our Lord, how wonderful is your name in all the earth! for your magnificence is exalted above the heavens.

2 De los labios de los bebés y de los niños has establecido la fuerza, a causa de tus adversarios, para que acalles al enemigo y al vengador.

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings have you perfected praise, because of your enemies; that you might put down the enemy and avenger.

3 Cuando considero tus cielos, obra de tus dedos, la luna y las estrellas, que tú has ordenado,

For I will regard the heavens, the work of your fingers; the moon and stars, which you have established.

4 ¿Qué es el hombre, para que pienses en él? ¿Qué es el hijo del hombre, para que te preocupes por él?

What is man, that you are mindful of him? or the son of man, that you visit him?

5 Porque lo has hecho un poco más bajo que los ángeles, y lo coronó de gloria y honor.

You made him a little less than angels, you have crowned him with glory and honor;

6 Lo haces gobernar sobre las obras de tus manos. Has puesto todas las cosas bajo sus pies:

and you have set him over the works of your hands: you have put all things under his feet:

7 Todas las ovejas y el ganado, sí, y los animales del campo,

sheep and all oxen, yes and the cattle of the field;

8 las aves del cielo, los peces del mar, y todo lo que pasa por los caminos de los mares.

the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea, the [creatures] passing through the paths of the sea.

9 Yahvé, nuestro Señor, ¡qué majestuoso es tu nombre en toda la tierra!

O Lord our Lord, how wonderful is your name in all the earth!
