Salmos 59
1 Para el músico jefe. Con la melodía de “No destruyas”. Un poema de David, cuando Saúl mandó, y vigilaron la casa para matarlo. Líbrame de mis enemigos, Dios mío. Ponme en alto de los que se levantan contra mí.
God, save me from my enemies! Protect me from those who want to attack me!
2 Líbrame de los obreros de la iniquidad. Sálvame de los hombres sedientos de sangre.
Rescue me from men who want to do what is wicked, men who are murderers!
3 Porque, he aquí, ellos acechan mi alma. Los poderosos se reúnen contra mí, no por mi desobediencia, ni por mi pecado, Yahvé.
Look! They are waiting to kill me! Fierce men have gathered to assault me. Yahweh, they are doing that even though I have not done what is wrong!
4 No he hecho nada malo, pero están dispuestos a atacarme. ¡Levántate, mira, y ayúdame!
It is not because I have committed any sin [against them] that they run and get ready to attack me.
5 Tú, Yahvé Dios de los Ejércitos, el Dios de Israel, despierta para castigar a las naciones. No tengas piedad de los malvados traidores. (Selah)
Yahweh my God, commander of the armies of heaven, the one we Israelis [worship], arise and punish the [ungodly/heathen people of] all the nations; do not be merciful to those [wicked people] who have (acted treacherously toward/secretly planned to harm) us.
6 Regresan al atardecer, aullando como perros, y merodean por la ciudad.
They return each evening, snarling like vicious dogs [SIM] as they prowl around this city.
7 He aquí que vomitan con la boca. Las espadas están en sus labios, “Porque”, dicen, “¿quién nos escucha?”
They loudly say terrible things; they say [MTY] many things that [injure people like] [MET] swords do, but they think, “No one will [RHQ] hear us!”
8 Pero tú, Yahvé, te ríes de ellos. Te burlas de todas las naciones.
But Yahweh, you laugh at them. You (scoff at/ridicule) the [people of the pagan] nations.
9 Oh, mi Fuerza, yo velo por ti, porque Dios es mi alta torre.
God, I have confidence in you because you are very strong; you are my refuge.
10 Mi Dios irá delante de mí con su amorosa bondad. Dios me permitirá mirar a mis enemigos con triunfo.
Because you love me, you will come to save me; you will allow me to watch while you defeat my enemies.
11 No los mates, o mi pueblo se olvidará. Dispérsalos con tu poder y derríbalos, Señor, nuestro escudo.
But do not kill them [immediately] in order that my people will not forget [how you punished them]! [Instead], Lord, [you who are like a] shield [that protects us] [MET], scatter them by your power, and [then] defeat them.
12 Por el pecado de su boca y las palabras de sus labios, que se dejen atrapar por su orgullo, por las maldiciones y mentiras que pronuncian.
Because what they say [MTY] is sinful, allow them to be trapped for being proud. Because they are [always] cursing and telling lies,
13 Consúmelos con ira. Consúmelos y ya no existirán. Hazles saber que Dios gobierna en Jacob, hasta los confines de la tierra. (Selah)
because you are angry, get rid of them; destroy them completely in order that people will know that you rule over us, your Israeli people, and that you rule over all the earth.
14 Al anochecer, que vuelvan. Que aúllen como un perro y recorran la ciudad.
My enemies return each evening, snarling like [vicious] dogs as they prowl around this city.
15 Andarán de un lado a otro en busca de comida, y esperar toda la noche si no están satisfechos.
They roam around, searching for food; and if they do not find enough, they growl.
16 Pero yo cantaré tu fuerza. Sí, cantaré en voz alta tu amorosa bondad por la mañana. Porque tú has sido mi alta torre, un refugio en el día de mi angustia.
But [as for me], I will sing about your power; [every] morning I will sing joyfully about your faithfully loving [us]. I will sing about how you protected me when I was [very] distressed.
17 A ti, mi fuerza, te cantaré alabanzas. Porque Dios es mi alta torre, el Dios de mi misericordia.
God, you are the one who enables me to be strong; you are my refuge; you faithfully love me.
