Salmos 58
1 Para el músico jefe. Con la melodía de “No destruyas”. Un poema de David. ¿Acaso habláis con justicia, los silenciosos? ¿Juzgáis sin culpa, hijos de los hombres?
To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam of David. Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?
2 No, en tu corazón traman la injusticia. Mide la violencia de tus manos en la tierra.
Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.
3 Los malvados se extravían desde el vientre. Son díscolos desde que nacen, hablando mentiras.
The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.
4 Su veneno es como el de una serpiente, como una cobra sorda que tapa su oreja,
Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;
5 que no escucha la voz de los encantadores, por muy hábil que sea el encantador.
Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.
6 Rompe sus dientes, Dios, en su boca. Saca los grandes dientes de los leones jóvenes, Yahvé.
Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD.
7 Que se desvanezcan como el agua que fluye. Cuando tensen el arco, que sus flechas sean desafiladas.
Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.
8 Que sean como un caracol que se derrite y pasa, como el niño que nace muerto, que no ha visto el sol.
As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.
9 Antes de que sus macetas puedan sentir el calor de las espinas, barrerá lo verde y lo ardiente por igual.
Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.
10 El justo se alegrará cuando vea la venganza. Lavará sus pies en la sangre de los impíos,
The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
11 para que los hombres digan: “Ciertamente hay una recompensa para los justos. Ciertamente hay un Dios que juzga la tierra”.
So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.
