Salmos 37
1 Por David. No te preocupes por los malhechores, ni tengáis envidia de los que obran con injusticia.
“Of David.” Do not fret thyself because of the evil-doers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 Porque pronto serán cortados como la hierba, y se marchitan como la hierba verde.
For like the grass they shall soon be mowed down, and like the green herb shall they wither.
3 Confía en Yahvé y haz el bien. Habita en la tierra y disfruta de un pasto seguro.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed [thyself] with truthfulness.
4 Deléitate también en Yahvé, y te dará los deseos de tu corazón.
And delight thyself in the Lord, and he will give thee the wishes of thy heart.
5 Encomienda tu camino a Yahvé. Confía también en él y lo hará:
Commit thy way unto the Lord, and trust in him: and he will accomplish it.
6 hará que tu justicia brille como la luz, y tu justicia como el sol del mediodía.
And he will bring forth as the light thy righteousness, and the justice of thy [cause] as the noonday.
7 Descansa en Yahvé y espéralo con paciencia. No te preocupes por el que prospera en su camino, por el hombre que hace que los complots malvados ocurran.
Be silent before the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who practices wicked devices.
8 Deja de enojarte y abandona la ira. No te preocupes; eso sólo conduce a hacer el mal.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 Porque los malhechores serán eliminados, pero los que esperan a Yahvé heredarán la tierra.
For evil-doers shall be cut off; but those that wait upon the Lord, these—shall truly inherit the land.
10 Todavía un poco de tiempo, y los malvados ya no existirán. Sí, aunque busques su lugar, no está allí.
For yet but for a little while, and the wicked shall be no more: yea, thou wilt look carefully at his place, and he shall not be there.
11 Pero los humildes heredarán la tierra, y se deleitarán en la abundancia de la paz.
But the meek shall inherit the land, and shall delight themselves because of the abundance of peace.
12 El malvado conspira contra el justo, y le rechina los dientes.
The wicked purposeth evil against the just, and gnasheth against him with his teeth.
13 El Señor se reirá de él, porque ve que se acerca su día.
The Lord will laugh at him; for he seeth that his day is coming.
14 Los malvados han sacado la espada y han tensado su arco, para abatir a los pobres y necesitados, para matar a los que son rectos en el camino.
The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cause the poor and needy to fall, and to slaughter such as are of an upright course [of life].
15 Su espada entrará en su propio corazón. Sus arcos se romperán.
[But] their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16 Mejor es lo poco que tiene el justo, que la abundancia de muchos malvados.
Better is the little that the righteous hath, than the great riches of many wicked.
17 Porque los brazos de los impíos serán quebrados, pero Yahvé sostiene a los justos.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the upholder of the righteous is the Lord.
18 Yahvé conoce los días de los perfectos. Su herencia será para siempre.
The Lord regardeth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall endure for ever.
19 No serán defraudados en el tiempo del mal. En los días de hambre serán satisfechos.
They shall not be made ashamed in the time of unhappiness; and in the days of famine shall they be satisfied.
20 Pero los impíos perecerán. Los enemigos de Yahvé serán como la belleza de los campos. Desaparecerán... se desvanecen como el humo.
But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the beauty of the meadow: they pass away; in smoke they pass away.
21 Los malvados piden prestado y no lo devuelven, pero los justos dan generosamente.
The wicked borroweth, and repayeth not; but the righteous is beneficent, and giveth.
22 Porque los bendecidos por él heredarán la tierra. Los que sean maldecidos por él serán cortados.
For those blessed of him shall inherit the land; and those cursed of him shall be cut off.
23 Los pasos del hombre son establecidos por Yahvé. Se deleita en su camino.
By the Lord are the steps of the righteous man established; and he findeth pleasure in his course [of life].
24 Aunque tropiece, no caerá, porque Yahvé lo sostiene con su mano.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholdeth his hand.
25 He sido joven y ahora soy viejo, pero no he visto al justo abandonado, ni a sus hijos mendigando el pan.
I have been young, and I am also grown old: yet have I never seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed seeking for bread.
26 Todo el día trata con gracia y presta. Su descendencia está bendecida.
He is all the time beneficent, and lendeth: and his seed will be for a blessing.
27 Apártate del mal y haz el bien. Vive seguro para siempre.
Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28 Porque Yahvé ama la justicia, y no abandona a sus santos. Se conservan para siempre, pero los hijos de los malvados serán cortados.
For the Lord loveth justice, and never forsaketh his pious servants: they are for ever preserved; but the seed of the wicked will be cut off.
29 Los justos heredarán la tierra, y vivir en ella para siempre.
The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell for ever therein.
30 La boca del justo habla de sabiduría. Su lengua habla con justicia.
The mouth of the righteous uttereth wisdom, and his tongue speaketh what is just.
31 La ley de su Dios está en su corazón. Ninguno de sus pasos se deslizará.
The law of his God is in his heart: none of his steps shall slip.
32 Los malvados vigilan a los justos, y buscan matarlo.
The wicked looketh out for the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
33 El Señor no lo dejará en sus manos, ni condenarlo cuando sea juzgado.
The Lord will not leave him in his hand, and will not condemn him when he is judged.
34 Esperen a Yahvé y guarden su camino, y te exaltará para que heredes la tierra. Cuando los malvados sean cortados, lo verás.
Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he will exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, shalt thou look on.
35 He visto a los malvados con gran poder, extendiéndose como un árbol verde en su tierra natal.
I have seen the wicked terrible in power, and striking root like a green tree in its native soil.
36 Pero pasó, y he aquí que no estaba. Sí, lo busqué, pero no lo encontré.
Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was no more: and I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 Marca al hombre perfecto y ve al recto, porque hay un futuro para el hombre de paz.
Observe the perfect man, and behold the upright; for there is a [happy] future for the man of peace.
38 En cuanto a los transgresores, serán destruidos juntos. El futuro de los malvados será cortado.
But the transgressors are destroyed together: the future of the wicked is cut off.
39 Pero la salvación de los justos viene de Yahvé. Él es su baluarte en el tiempo de los problemas.
And the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord: he is their strong-hold in the time of distress.
40 Yahvé los ayuda y los rescata. Los rescata de los malvados y los salva, porque se han refugiado en él.
And the Lord helpeth them, and delivereth them; he will deliver them from the wicked, and save them; because they have put their trust in him.
