Salmos 34
1 Por David; cuando fingió estar loco ante Abimelec, quien lo expulsó, y él se marchó. Bendeciré a Yahvé en todo momento. Su alabanza siempre estará en mi boca.
“By David, when he disguised his reason before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.” I will bless the Lord at all times: continually shall his praise be in my mouth.
2 Mi alma se jactará en Yahvé. Los humildes lo oirán y se alegrarán.
My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear it, and be rejoiced.
3 Oh, engrandece a Yahvé conmigo. Exaltemos juntos su nombre.
Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.
4 Busqué a Yahvé y me respondió, y me libró de todos mis temores.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me, and from all that I dreaded did he deliver me.
5 Lo miraron y quedaron radiantes. Sus rostros nunca se cubrirán de vergüenza.
They [who] looked unto him, were indeed enlightened, and their faces were not put to the blush.
6 Este pobre hombre clamó, y Yahvé lo escuchó, y lo salvó de todos sus problemas.
This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and out of all his distresses did he save him.
7 El ángel de Yahvé acampa alrededor de los que le temen, y los entrega.
The angel of the Lord encampeth round about those who fear him, and delivereth them.
8 Oh, probad y ved que Yahvé es bueno. Dichoso el hombre que se refugia en él.
Experience and see that the Lord is good: happy is the man that trusteth in him.
9 Temed a Yahvé, vosotros sus santos, porque no hay falta con los que le temen.
Oh fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to those who fear him.
10 Los leones jóvenes carecen y sufren hambre, pero a los que buscan a Yahvé no les faltará nada bueno.
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger; but those who seek the Lord shall not want any good.
11 Venid, niños, escuchadme. Te enseñaré el temor de Yahvé.
Come, ye children, hearken unto me: the fear of the Lord will I teach you.
12 Que es alguien que desea la vida, y ama muchos días, para que vea el bien?
Who is the man that desireth life, loveth [many] days, that he may see happiness?
13 Guarda tu lengua del mal, y tus labios de decir mentiras.
Guard thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking deceit.
14 Apártate del mal y haz el bien. Busca la paz y persíguela.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
15 Los ojos de Yahvé están hacia los justos. Sus oídos escuchan su grito.
The eyes of the Lord are directed unto the righteous, and his ears unto their cry.
16 El rostro de Yahvé está contra los que hacen el mal, para cortar su memoria de la tierra.
[But] the anger of the Lord is against those that do evil, to cut off from the earth their remembrance.
17 Los justos claman, y Yahvé los escucha, y los libra de todos sus problemas.
Those cry, and the Lord heareth, and from all their distresses he delivereth them.
18 Yahvé está cerca de los que tienen el corazón roto, y salva a los que tienen el espíritu abatido.
The Lord is nigh unto those that are broken-hearted: and he saveth those that are of a contrite spirit.
19 Muchas son las aflicciones de los justos, pero Yahvé lo libra de todos ellos.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but out of them all the Lord ever delivereth him.
20 Protege todos sus huesos. Ninguno de ellos está roto.
He watcheth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
21 El mal matará a los malvados. Los que odian a los justos serán condenados.
The evil will slay the wicked: and they who hate the righteous shall incur guiltiness.
22 Yahvé redimeel alma de sus siervos. Ninguno de los que se refugian en él será condenado.
The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and all that trust in him shall not incur guiltiness.
