Salmos 2

1 Por qué se enfurecen las naciones, ¿y los pueblos traman una cosa vana?

Why are the nations in turmoil, and why do the peoples make plots that will fail?

2 Los reyes de la tierra toman posición, y los gobernantes se aconsejan entre sí, contra Yahvé y contra su Ungido, diciendo,

The kings of the earth take their stand together and the rulers conspire together against Yahweh and against his Messiah, saying,

3 “Rompamos sus vínculos, y arrojar sus cuerdas de nosotros”.

“Let us tear off the shackles they put on us and throw off their chains.”

4 El que está sentado en los cielos se reirá. El Señor se burlará de ellos.

He who sits in the heavens will sneer at them; the Lord mocks them.

5 Entonces les hablará en su ira, y aterrorizarlos en su ira:

Then he will speak to them in his anger and terrify them in his rage, saying,

6 “Pero he puesto a mi Rey en mi santo monte de Sión”.

“I myself have anointed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”

7 Voy a contar el decreto: Yahvé me dijo: “Tú eres mi hijo. Hoy me he convertido en tu padre.

I will announce a decree of Yahweh. He said to me, “You are my son! This day I have become your father.

8 Pídeme y te daré las naciones como herencia, los confines de la tierra para su posesión.

Ask me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance and the farthermost regions of the earth for your possession.

9 Los romperás con una vara de hierro. Los harás pedazos como una vasija de alfarero”.

You will break them with an iron rod; like a jar of a potter, you will smash them to pieces.”

10 Ahora, pues, sed sabios, reyes. Instrúyanse, jueces de la tierra.

So now, you kings, be warned; be corrected, you rulers of the earth.

11 Sirve a Yahvé con temor, y se regocija con el temblor.

Worship Yahweh in fear and rejoice with trembling.

12 Dad un homenaje sincero al Hijo, no sea que se enfade y perezcáis en el camino, porque su ira pronto se encenderá. Dichosos los que se refugian en él.

Kiss the son or he will be angry with you, and you will die in the way when his anger burns for just a moment. How blessed are all those who seek refuge in him.
