Salmos 105
1 ¡Den gracias a Yahvé! ¡Invoca su nombre! Haz que se conozcan sus actos entre los pueblos.
O give thanks unto the LORD; Call upon his name; Make known his deeds among the people!
2 ¡Cantadle, cantadle alabanzas! Cuenta todas sus maravillosas obras.
Sing unto him; sing psalms unto him; Tell ye of all his wondrous works!
3 Gloria a su santo nombre. Que se alegre el corazón de los que buscan a Yahvé.
Glory ye in his holy name; Let the hearts of them that seek the LORD rejoice!
4 Busca a Yahvé y su fuerza. Busca su rostro para siempre.
Seek the LORD, and his majesty; Seek his face continually!
5 Acuérdate de las maravillas que ha hecho: sus maravillas, y los juicios de su boca,
Remember the wonders he hath wrought, His miracles and the judgments of his mouth,
6 tú, descendiente de Abraham, su siervo, vosotros, hijos de Jacob, sus elegidos.
Ye offspring of Abraham his servant, Ye children of Jacob his chosen!
7 Él es Yahvé, nuestro Dios. Sus juicios están en toda la tierra.
Jehovah, he is our God, His judgments are over all the earth.
8 Se ha acordado de su pacto para siempre, la palabra que ordenó a mil generaciones,
He remembereth his covenant for ever, And the promise to a thousand generations;
9 el pacto que hizo con Abraham, su juramento a Isaac,
The covenant which he made with Abraham, And the oath which he gave to Isaac;
10 y se lo confirmó a Jacob por un estatuto; a Israel por un pacto eterno,
Which he confirmed to Jacob for a decree, And to Israel for an everlasting covenant.
11 diciendo: “A ti te daré la tierra de Canaán, el lote de tu herencia”.
“To thee,” said he, “will I give the land of Canaan For the lot of your inheritance.”
12 cuando no eran más que unos pocos hombres, sí, muy pocos, y extranjeros en ella.
When they were yet few in number, Very few, and strangers in the land;
13 Iban de nación en nación, de un reino a otro pueblo.
When they went from nation to nation, From one kingdom to another people,
14 No permitió que nadie les hiciera mal. Sí, reprendió a los reyes por su bien,
He suffered no man to oppress them; Yea, he rebuked kings for their sakes.
15 “¡No toquen a mis ungidos! No hagas daño a mis profetas”.
“Touch not,” said he, “mine anointed, And do my prophets no harm!”
16 Convocó una hambruna en la tierra. Destruyó los suministros de alimentos.
Again, when he commanded a famine in the land, And broke the whole staff of bread,
17 Envió a un hombre delante de ellos. José fue vendido como esclavo.
He sent a man before them; Joseph was sold as a slave.
18 Le magullaron los pies con grilletes. Su cuello fue encerrado con grilletes,
His feet they hurt with fetters; He was bound in chains of iron;
19 hasta el momento en que ocurrió su palabra, y la palabra de Yahvé le dio la razón.
Until his prediction came to pass, And the word of the LORD proved him.
20 El rey envió y lo liberó, incluso el gobernante de los pueblos, y déjalo libre.
Then the king sent, and loosed him; The ruler of nations, and set him free;
21 Lo hizo señor de su casa, y gobernante de todas sus posesiones,
He made him governor of his house, And lord of all his possessions;
22 para disciplinar a sus príncipes a su antojo, y para enseñar la sabiduría a sus mayores.
To bind his princes at his pleasure, And teach his counsellors wisdom.
23 Israel también llegó a Egipto. Jacob vivía en la tierra de Cam.
Israel also came into Egypt, And Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham;
24 Aumentó su pueblo en gran medida, y los hizo más fuertes que sus adversarios.
Where God increased his people greatly, And made them stronger than their enemies.
25 Hizo que su corazón se volviera a odiar a su pueblo, para conspirar contra sus sirvientes.
He turned their hearts to hate his people, And form devices against his servants.
26 Envió a Moisés, su siervo, y Aarón, a quienes había elegido.
Then sent he Moses his servant, And Aaron, whom he had chosen.
27 Hicieron milagros entre ellos, y maravillas en la tierra de Jamón.
They showed his signs among them, And his wonders in the land of Ham.
28 Envió las tinieblas y las hizo oscuras. No se rebelaron contra sus palabras.
He sent darkness upon them, and made it dark; And they did not disobey his word.
29 Convirtió sus aguas en sangre, y mató a sus peces.
He turned their waters into blood, And caused their fish to die.
30 Su tierra se llenó de ranas, incluso en las habitaciones de sus reyes.
Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, Even in the chambers of their kings.
31 Habló, y vinieron enjambres de moscas, y piojos en todas sus fronteras.
He spake, and there came flies, And lice in all their coasts.
32 Les dio granizo como lluvia, con un rayo en su tierra.
Instead of rain he gave them hail, And flaming fire in their land.
33 Hirió sus vides y también sus higueras, y destrozaron los árboles de su país.
He smote also their vines and fig-trees, And broke the trees of their coasts.
34 Él habló, y las langostas vinieron con los saltamontes, sin número.
He spake, and the locusts came. Destructive locusts without number,
35 Se comieron todas las plantas de su tierra, y comieron el fruto de su tierra.
Which ate up all the herbage in their land, And devoured the fruits of their fields.
36 También hirió a todos los primogénitos de su tierra, las primicias de toda su hombría.
Then he smote all the first-born in their land, The first-fruits of all their strength.
37 Los sacó con plata y oro. No había una sola persona débil entre sus tribus.
He led forth his people with silver and gold; Nor was there one feeble person in all their tribes.
38 Egipto se alegró cuando partieron, porque el miedo a ellos había caído sobre ellos.
Egypt was glad when they departed, For their terror had fallen upon them.
39 Extendió una nube como cobertura, fuego para dar luz en la noche.
He spread out a cloud for a covering, And fire to give light by night.
40 Le pidieron, y trajo codornices, y los satisfizo con el pan del cielo.
They asked, and he brought quails, And satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
41 Abrió la roca y las aguas brotaron. Corrían como un río en los lugares secos.
He opened the rock, and the waters gushed forth, And ran in the dry places like a river.
42 Porque se acordó de su santa palabra, y Abraham, su siervo.
For he remembered his holy promise, Which he had made to Abraham his servant;
43 Sacó a su pueblo con alegría, su elegido con el canto.
And he led forth his people with joy, And his chosen with gladness.
44 Les dio las tierras de las naciones. Tomaron el trabajo de los pueblos en posesión,
He gave to them the lands of the nations, And they inherited the labor of the peoples;
45 para que cumplan sus estatutos, y observar sus leyes. ¡Alabado sea Yah!
That they might observe his statutes, And obey his laws. Praise ye the LORD!
