Proverbios 2
1 Hijo mío, si recibes mis palabras, y guardad mis mandamientos en vuestro interior,
Oh, my son, that thou wouldst receive my words, And treasure up my precepts within thee;
2 para que vuelvas tu oído a la sabiduría, y aplica tu corazón a la comprensión;
That thou wouldst apply thine ear to wisdom, And incline thy heart to understanding!
3 sí, si se llama al discernimiento, y levanta tu voz para que te entiendan;
For if thou wilt call aloud to knowledge, And lift up thy voice to understanding, —
4 si la buscas como plata, y buscarla como a los tesoros escondidos;
If thou wilt seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures,
5 entonces entenderás el temor de Yahvé, y encontrar el conocimiento de Dios.
Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God.
6 Porque Yahvé da sabiduría. De su boca sale el conocimiento y la comprensión.
For the LORD giveth wisdom; From his mouth proceed knowledge and understanding:
7 Él acumula la sana sabiduría para los rectos. Es un escudo para los que caminan con integridad,
He layeth up safety for the righteous; He is a shield to them that walk uprightly:
8 para que guarde los caminos de la justicia, y preservar el camino de sus santos.
He guardeth the paths of equity, And defendeth the way of his servants.
9 Entonces entenderás la rectitud y la justicia, la equidad y todo buen camino.
Then shalt thou understand righteousness and equity And uprightness, yea, every good path.
10 Porque la sabiduría entrará en tu corazón. El conocimiento será agradable para tu alma.
When wisdom entereth into thy heart, And knowledge is pleasant to thy soul,
11 La discreción velará por ti. La comprensión te mantendrá,
Discretion will guard thee, Understanding will preserve thee.
12 para librarte del camino del mal, de los hombres que hablan cosas perversas,
It will deliver thee from the way of the wicked, From the men who speak perverse things;
13 que abandonan los caminos de la rectitud, para andar por los caminos de la oscuridad,
Who forsake the paths of uprightness, To walk in the ways of darkness;
14 que se alegran de hacer el mal, y se deleitan en la perversidad del mal,
Who rejoice in doing evil, And delight in the perverseness of the wicked;
15 que son torcidos en sus caminos, y descarriados en sus caminos,
Whose paths are crooked, And who are froward in their ways.
16 para librarte de la mujer extraña, incluso de la extranjera que halaga con sus palabras,
It will deliver thee from the wife of another, From the stranger, who useth smooth words;
17 que abandona al amigo de su juventud, y olvida el pacto de su Dios;
Who forsaketh the friend of her youth, And forgetteth the covenant of her God.
18 por su casa lleva a la muerte, sus caminos a los espíritus difuntos.
For her house sinketh down to Death, And her paths to the shades of the dead:
19 Ninguno de los que van a ella regresa, ni alcanzan los caminos de la vida.
None that go to her return again; They will not attain the paths of life.
20 Por lo tanto, camina por el camino de los hombres buenos, y guarda los caminos de los justos.
Therefore walk thou in the way of good men, And keep the paths of the righteous:
21 Porque los rectos habitarán la tierra. Lo perfecto permanecerá en él.
For the upright shall dwell in the land, And the righteous shall remain in it;
22 Pero los malvados serán eliminados de la tierra. Los traidores serán desarraigados de ella.
But the wicked shall be cut off from the land, And transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
