Proverbios 15
1 Una respuesta amable aleja la ira, pero una palabra dura despierta la ira.
A soft answer turneth away wrath; But harsh words stir up anger.
2 La lengua de los sabios alaba el conocimiento, pero las bocas de los necios destilan necedad.
The tongue of the wise maketh knowledge pleasing; But the mouth of fools poureth forth folly.
3 Los ojos de Yahvé están en todas partes, vigilando a los malos y a los buenos.
The eyes of the LORD are in every place; They behold the evil and the good.
4 La lengua amable es un árbol de vida, pero el engaño en ella aplasta el espíritu.
A mild tongue is a tree of life; But perverseness therein is a wound in the spirit.
5 Un tonto desprecia la corrección de su padre, pero el que hace caso a la reprensión demuestra prudencia.
The fool despiseth the correction of his father; But he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
6 En la casa del justo hay muchos tesoros, pero los ingresos de los malvados traen problemas.
In the house of the righteous is much wealth; But in the revenues of the wicked there is trouble.
7 Los labios de los sabios difunden el conocimiento; no así con el corazón de los tontos.
The lips of the wise spread abroad knowledge; But the heart of the foolish is not sound.
8 El sacrificio que hacen los impíos es una abominación para Yahvé, pero la oración de los rectos es su delicia.
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD; But the prayer of the righteous is his delight.
9 El camino de los impíos es una abominación para Yahvé, pero ama al que sigue la justicia.
The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD; But him who followeth after righteousness he loveth.
10 Hay una disciplina severa para quien abandona el camino. Quien odia la reprensión morirá.
Sore chastisement shall be to him that forsaketh the way; He that hateth reproof shall die.
11 El Seol y Abadón están delante de Yahvé — ¡cuánto más el corazón de los hijos de los hombres! (Sheol h7585)
The underworld, yea, the region of death, is before the LORD; How much more the hearts of the sons of men! (Sheol h7585)
12 Al burlón no le gusta ser reprendido; no acudirá a los sabios.
The scoffer loveth not his reprover; He will not resort to the wise.
13 Un corazón alegre hace una cara alegre, pero un corazón dolorido rompe el espíritu.
A joyous heart maketh a bright countenance; But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
14 El corazón de quien tiene entendimiento busca el conocimiento, pero la boca de los necios se alimenta de la necedad.
The heart of the man of understanding seeketh knowledge; But the mouth of fools feedeth on folly.
15 Todos los días de los afligidos son miserables, pero el que tiene un corazón alegre disfruta de una fiesta continua.
The days of the afflicted are all evil; But he that hath a cheerful heart hath a continual feast.
16 Mejor es lo pequeño, con el temor de Yahvé, que un gran tesoro con problemas.
Better is a little, with the fear of the LORD, Than much treasure, and trouble therewith.
17 Mejor es una cena de hierbas, donde está el amor, que un ternero engordado con odio.
Better is a dinner of herbs, where there is love, Than a fatted ox, and hatred therewith.
18 El hombre iracundo suscita la discordia, pero el que es lento para la ira apacigua los conflictos.
The passionate man stirreth up strife; But he who is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
19 El camino del perezoso es como un terreno de espinas, pero el camino de los rectos es una carretera.
The way of the slothful is as a hedge of thorns; But the way of the righteous is a highway.
20 El hijo sabio alegra al padre, pero un necio desprecia a su madre.
A wise son maketh a glad father; But a foolish man despiseth his mother.
21 La insensatez es la alegría para quien está vacío de sabiduría, pero un hombre de entendimiento mantiene su camino recto.
Folly is joy to him who lacketh wisdom; But the man of understanding walketh uprightly.
22 Donde no hay consejo, los planes fracasan; pero en una multitud de consejeros se establecen.
Without counsel, plans come to nought; But with a multitude of counsellors they are established.
23 La alegría llega al hombre con la respuesta de su boca. ¡Qué buena es una palabra en el momento adecuado!
A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth; And a word in due season, how good it is!
24 El camino de la vida lleva a los sabios hacia arriba, para evitar que baje al Seol. (Sheol h7585)
The path of life is upward for the wise, So that he turneth away from the underworld beneath. (Sheol h7585)
25 El Señor desarraigará la casa de los soberbios, pero mantendrá intactos los límites de la viuda.
The LORD destroyeth the house of the proud; But he will establish the border of the widow.
26 Yahvé detesta los pensamientos de los malvados, pero los pensamientos de los puros son agradables.
Evil devices are an abomination to the LORD; But pleasant words are pure.
27 El que está ávido de ganancia, perturba su propia casa, pero el que odia los sobornos vivirá.
He who is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; But he who hateth bribes shall live.
28 El corazón de los justos pesa las respuestas, pero la boca de los malvados brota el mal.
The heart of the righteous meditateth on his answer; But the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
29 Yahvé está lejos de los malvados, pero él escucha la oración de los justos.
The LORD is far from the wicked: But he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
30 La luz de los ojos alegra el corazón. Las buenas noticias dan salud a los huesos.
The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart, And good tidings make the bones fat.
31 El oído que escucha la reprensión vive, y estará en casa entre los sabios.
The ear that hearkeneth to the reproof of life Shall dwell among the wise.
32 El que rechaza la corrección desprecia su propia alma, pero el que escucha la reprensión obtiene la comprensión.
He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own life; But he that hearkeneth to rebuke getteth understanding.
33 El temor de Yahvé enseña la sabiduría. Antes del honor está la humildad.
The fear of the LORD guideth to wisdom, And before honor is humility.
