Filemón 1

1 Pablo, prisionero de Cristo Jesús, y Timoteo, nuestro hermano, a Filemón, nuestro amado colaborador,

Paul a prisoner of Iesus Christ, and our brother Timotheus, vnto Philemon our deare friende, and fellowe helper,

2 a la amada Apia, a Arquipo, nuestro compañero de armas, y a la asamblea en vuestra casa:

And to our deare sister Apphia, and to Archippus our fellowe souldier, and to the Church that is in thine house:

3 Gracia a vosotros y paz de parte de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.

Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ.

4 Doy gracias a mi Dios siempre, haciendo mención de vosotros en mis oraciones,

I giue thanks to my God, making mention alwaies of thee in my praiers,

5 oyendo hablar de tu amor y de la fe que tienes para con el Señor Jesús y para con todos los santos,

(When I heare of thy loue and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Iesus, and towarde all Saintes)

6 para que la comunión de tu fe se haga efectiva en el conocimiento de todo lo bueno que hay en nosotros en Cristo Jesús.

That the fellowship of thy faith may bee made effectuall, and that whatsoeuer good thing is in you through Christ Iesus, may be knowen.

7 Porque tenemos mucha alegría y consuelo en tu amor, porque los corazones de los santos han sido refrescados por medio de ti, hermano.

For we haue great ioy and consolation in thy loue, because by thee, brother, the Saintes bowels are comforted.

8 Por lo tanto, aunque tengo toda la audacia en Cristo para ordenaros lo que conviene,

Wherefore, though I bee very bolde in Christ to commaund thee that which is conuenient,

9 sin embargo, por amor, más bien apelo a vosotros, siendo uno como Pablo, anciano, pero también prisionero de Jesucristo.

Yet for loues sake I rather beseeche thee, though I be as I am, euen Paul aged, and euen nowe a prisoner for Iesus Christ.

10 Apelo a vosotros por mi hijo Onésimo, del que me he convertido en padre en mis cadenas,

I beseeche thee for my sonne Onesimus, whome I haue begotten in my bondes,

11 que antes os era inútil, pero que ahora nos es útil a vosotros y a mí.

Which in times past was to thee vnprofitable, but nowe profitable both to thee and to me,

12 Te lo devuelvo. Recibid, pues, a éste, es decir, a mi propio corazón,

Whome I haue sent againe: thou therefore receiue him, that is mine owne bowels,

13 a quien deseaba retener conmigo, para que en vuestro nombre me sirviera en mis cadenas para la Buena Nueva.

Whom I woulde haue reteined with mee, that in thy steade he might haue ministred vnto me in the bondes of the Gospel.

14 Pero no quise hacer nada sin tu consentimiento, para que tu bondad no fuera como por necesidad, sino por libre voluntad.

But without thy minde woulde I doe nothing, that thy benefite should not be as it were of necessitie, but willingly.

15 Por lo tanto, tal vez se separó de ti por un tiempo para que lo tuvieras para siempre, (aiōnios g166)

It may be that he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receiue him for euer, (aiōnios g166)

16 no ya como un esclavo, sino más que un esclavo, un hermano amado, especialmente para mí, pero cuánto más para ti, tanto en la carne como en el Señor.

Not now as a seruant, but aboue a seruant, euen as a brother beloued, specially to me: howe much more then vnto thee, both in the flesh and in the Lord?

17 Si, pues, me consideras un socio, recíbelo como a mí.

If therefore thou count our thinges common, receiue him as my selfe.

18 Pero si os ha perjudicado o os debe algo, ponedlo en mi cuenta.

If he hath hurt thee, or oweth thee ought, that put on mine accounts.

19 Yo, Pablo, escribo esto con mi propia mano: Te lo devolveré (sin mencionar que me debes incluso a ti mismo además).

I Paul haue written this with mine owne hande: I will recompense it, albeit I doe not say to thee, that thou owest moreouer vnto me euen thine owne selfe.

20 Sí, hermano, permíteme que me alegre de ti en el Señor. Refresca mi corazón en el Señor.

Yea, brother, let mee obteine this pleasure of thee in the Lord: comfort my bowels in the Lord.

21 Confiando en tu obediencia, te escribo, sabiendo que harás incluso más allá de lo que te digo.

Trusting in thine obedience, I wrote vnto thee, knowing that thou wilt do eue more then I say.

22 Prepara también una habitación de huéspedes para mí, pues espero que, gracias a vuestras oraciones, se me restituya.

Moreouer also prepare mee lodging: for I trust through your prayers I shall be freely giuen vnto you.

23 Os saluda Epafras, mi compañero de prisión en Cristo Jesús,

There salute thee Epaphras my felowe prisoner in Christ Iesus,

24 así como Marcos, Aristarco, Demas y Lucas, mis compañeros de trabajo.

Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas and Luke, my felowe helpers.

25 La gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo esté con vuestro espíritu. Amén.
