Números 1

1 Yahvé habló a Moisés en el desierto del Sinaí, en la Tienda del Encuentro, el primer día del segundo mes, en el segundo año después de haber salido de la tierra de Egipto, diciendo:

And the Lord spoke unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after their going out of the land of Egypt, saying,

2 “Haz un censo de toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, por sus familias, por las casas de sus padres, según el número de los nombres, cada varón, uno por uno,

Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the descent from their fathers, by numbering the names, every male according to their polls;

3 de veinte años en adelante, todos los que puedan salir a la guerra en Israel. Tú y Aarón los contarán por sus divisiones.

From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: these shall ye number according to their armies, thou and Aaron.

4 Con vosotros habrá un hombre de cada tribu, cada uno jefe de la casa de sus padres.

And with you there shall be one man each of every tribe; a man who is the head of his family division.

5 Estos son los nombres de los hombres que estarán con vosotros: De Reuben: Elizur el hijo de Sedeur.

And these are the names of the men that shall stand with you; of Reuben: Elizur the son of Shedeur.

6 De Simeón: Selumiel, hijo de Zurisadai.

Of Simeon: Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

7 De Judá: Naasón, hijo de Aminadab.

Of Judah: Nachshon the son of 'Amminadab.

8 De Isacar: Netanel, hijo de Zuar.

Of Issachar: Nethanel the son of Zuar.

9 De Zabulón: Eliab, hijo de Helón.

Of Zebulun: Eliab the son of Chelon.

10 De los hijos de José: de Efraín: Elisama hijo de Amiud; de Manasés Gamaliel, hijo de Pedasur.

Of the children of Joseph, of Ephraim: Elishama the son of 'Ammihud; of Menasseh: Gamliel the son of Pedahzur.

11 De Benjamín: Abidán, hijo de Gideoni.

Of Benjamin: Abidan the son of Gidoni.

12 De Dan: Ahiezer, hijo de Ammishaddai.

Of Dan: Achiezer the son of 'Ammishaddai.

13 De Aser: Pagiel, hijo de Ocran.

Of Asher: Pagiel the son of 'Ochran.

14 De Gad: Eliasaf, hijo de Deuel.

Of Gad: Elyassaph the son of Deuel.

15 De Neftalí: Ahira, hijo de Enán”.

Of Naphtali: Achira the son of 'Enan.

16 Estos son los que fueron llamados de la congregación, los príncipes de las tribus de sus padres; eran los jefes de los millares de Israel.

These were the selected of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; the heads of the thousands of Israel were they.

17 Moisés y Aarón tomaron a estos hombres mencionados por su nombre.

And Moses and Aaron took these men who are expressed by name:

18 Reunieron a toda la congregación el primer día del segundo mes, y declararon su ascendencia por sus familias, por las casas de sus padres, según el número de los nombres, de veinte años en adelante, uno por uno.

And all the congregation they assembled together on the first day of the second month, and they were enrolled in the lists of their pedigrees after their families, by the descent from their fathers, by numbering the names, from twenty years old and upward, according to their polls.

19 Como Yahvé le ordenó a Moisés, así los contó en el desierto de Sinaí.

As the Lord had commanded Moses, so did he number them in the wilderness of Sinai.

20 Los hijos de Rubén, primogénitos de Israel, sus generaciones, por sus familias, por las casas de sus padres, según el número de los nombres, uno por uno, todo varón de veinte años para arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra:

And there were of the children of Reuben the first-born of Israel, by their generations, after their families, by the descent from their fathers, by numbering the names according to their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

21 Los contados de ellos, de la tribu de Rubén, fueron cuarenta y seis mil quinientos.

Those that were numbered of the tribe of Reuben, were forty and six thousand and five hundred.

22 De los hijos de Simeón, sus generaciones, por sus familias, por las casas de sus padres, los que fueron contados de ella, según el número de los nombres, uno por uno, todo varón de veinte años para arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra:

Of the children of Simeon, by their generations, after their families, by the descent from their fathers, those that were numbered of them, by numbering the names according to their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

23 los que fueron contados de ellos, de la tribu de Simeón, fueron cincuenta y nueve mil trescientos.

Those that were numbered of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred.

24 De los hijos de Gad, sus generaciones, por sus familias, por las casas de sus padres, según el número de los nombres, de veinte años para arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra:

Of the children of Gad, by their generations, after their families, by the descent from their fathers, by numbering the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

25 Los contados de ellos, de la tribu de Gad, fueron cuarenta y cinco mil seiscientos cincuenta.

Those that were numbered of the tribe of Gad, were forty and five thousand six hundred and fifty.

26 De los hijos de Judá, sus generaciones, por sus familias, por las casas de sus padres, según el número de los nombres, de veinte años para arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra:

Of the children of Judah, by their generations, after their families, by the descent from their fathers, by numbering the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

27 Los contados de ellos, de la tribu de Judá, fueron setenta y cuatro mil seiscientos.

Those that were numbered of the tribe of Judah, were seventy and four thousand and six hundred.

28 De los hijos de Isacar, sus generaciones, por sus familias, por las casas de sus padres, según el número de los nombres, de veinte años para arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra:

Of the children of Issachar, by their generations, after their families, by the descent from their fathers, by numbering the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

29 Los contados de ellos, de la tribu de Isacar, fueron cincuenta y cuatro mil cuatrocientos.

Those that were numbered of the tribe of Issachar, were fifty and four thousand and four hundred.

30 De los hijos de Zabulón, sus generaciones, por sus familias, por las casas de sus padres, según el número de los nombres, de veinte años para arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra:

Of the children of Zebulun, by their generations, after their families, by the descent from their fathers, by numbering the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

31 Los contados de ellos, de la tribu de Zabulón, fueron cincuenta y siete mil cuatrocientos.

Those that were numbered of the tribe of Zebulun, were fifty and seven thousand and four hundred.

32 De los hijos de José: de los hijos de Efraín, sus generaciones, por sus familias, por las casas de sus padres, según el número de los nombres, de veinte años para arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra:

Of the children of Joseph, namely, of the children of Ephraim, by their generations, after their families, by the descent from their fathers, by numbering the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war.

33 los contados de ellos, de la tribu de Efraín, fueron cuarenta mil quinientos.

Those that were numbered of the tribe of Ephraim, were forty thousand and five hundred.

34 De los hijos de Manasés, sus generaciones, por sus familias, por las casas de sus padres, según el número de los nombres, de veinte años para arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra:

Of the children of Menasseh, by their generations, after their families, by the descent from their fathers, by numbering the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

35 Los contados de ellos, de la tribu de Manasés, fueron treinta y dos mil doscientos.

Those that were numbered of the tribe of Menasseh, were thirty and two thousand and two hundred.

36 De los hijos de Benjamín, sus generaciones, por sus familias, por las casas de sus padres, según el número de los nombres, de veinte años para arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra:

Of the children of Benjamin, by their generations, after their families, by the descent from their fathers, by numbering the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

37 Los contados de ellos, de la tribu de Benjamín, fueron treinta y cinco mil cuatrocientos.

Those that were numbered of the tribe of Benjamin, were thirty and five thousand and four hundred.

38 De los hijos de Dan, sus generaciones, por sus familias, por las casas de sus padres, según el número de los nombres, de veinte años para arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra:

Of the children of Dan, by their generations, after their families, by the descent from their fathers, by numbering the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

39 Los contados de ellos, de la tribu de Dan, fueron sesenta y dos mil setecientos.

Those that were numbered of the tribe of Dan, were sixty and two thousand and seven hundred.

40 De los hijos de Aser, sus generaciones, por sus familias, por las casas de sus padres, según el número de los nombres, de veinte años para arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra:

Of the children of Asher, by their generations, after their families, by the descent from their fathers, by numbering the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

41 Los contados de ellos, de la tribu de Aser, fueron cuarenta y un mil quinientos.

Those that were numbered of the tribe of Asher, were forty and one thousand and five hundred.

42 De los hijos de Neftalí, sus generaciones, por sus familias, por las casas de sus padres, según el número de los nombres, de veinte años para arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra:

Of the children of Naphtali, by their generations, after their families, by the descent from their fathers, by numbering the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

43 Los contados de ellos, de la tribu de Neftalí, fueron cincuenta y tres mil cuatrocientos.

Those that were numbered of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.

44 Estos son los que fueron contados, los cuales contaron Moisés y Aarón, y los doce hombres que eran príncipes de Israel, cada uno por la casa de su padre.

These are those that were numbered, whom Moses numbered with Aaron, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men; one man each for his family division were they.

45 Así que todos los que fueron contados de los hijos de Israel por las casas de sus padres, de veinte años para arriba, todos los que podían salir a la guerra en Israel —

Thus were all those that were numbered of the children of Israel, by the descent from their fathers, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel, —

46 todos los que fueron contados fueron seiscientos tres mil quinientos cincuenta.

Even all they that were numbered, were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.

47 Pero los levitas según la tribu de sus padres no fueron contados entre ellos.

But the Levites, after the tribe of their fathers, were not numbered among them.

48 Porque Yahvé habló a Moisés, diciendo:

For the Lord had spoken unto Moses, saying,

49 “Sólo la tribu de Leví no contarás, ni harás censo de ellos entre los hijos de Israel;

Only the tribe of Levi shalt thou not number, and their sum shalt thou not take, among the children of Israel;

50 sino que designarás a los levitas sobre el Tabernáculo del Testimonio, y sobre todos sus enseres, y sobre todo lo que le pertenece. Ellos llevarán el tabernáculo y todos sus enseres; lo cuidarán y acamparán alrededor de él.

But thou shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, and over all its vessels, and over all things that belong to it: they shall carry the tabernacle, and all its vessels; and they shall minister unto it; and round about the tabernacle shall they encamp.

51 Cuando el tabernáculo deba trasladarse, los levitas lo desmontarán; y cuando el tabernáculo deba levantarse, los levitas lo armarán. El extranjero que se acerque morirá.

And when the tabernacle is to be carried forward, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.

52 Los hijos de Israel acamparán, cada uno en su campamento, y cada uno en su estandarte, según sus divisiones.

And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their armies.

53 Pero los levitas acamparán alrededor del Tabernáculo del Testimonio, para que no haya ira en la congregación de los hijos de Israel. Los levitas serán responsables del Tabernáculo del Testimonio”.

But the Levites shall encamp round shout the tabernacle of the testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of the testimony.

54 Así hicieron los hijos de Israel. Según todo lo que Yahvé ordenó a Moisés, así lo hicieron.

And the children of Israel did so: all, just as the Lord had commanded Moses, so did they.
