Números 17
1 Yahvé habló a Moisés diciendo:
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
2 “Habla a los hijos de Israel y toma varas de ellos, una por cada casa paterna, de todos sus príncipes según sus casas paternas, doce varas. Escribe el nombre de cada uno en su vara.
Speak to the children of Israel, and take rods of them, according to the houses of their families, a rod from all their princes, according to the houses of their families, twelve rods, and write the name of each on his rod.
3 Escribirás el nombre de Aarón en la vara de Leví. Habrá una vara por cada jefe de sus casas paternas.
And write the name of Aaron on the rod of Levi; for it is one rod [for each]: they shall give [them] according to the tribe of the house of their families.
4 Las pondrás en la Tienda de Reunión, delante del pacto, donde me reúno con ustedes.
And you shall put them in the tabernacle of witness, before the testimony, where I will be made known to you.
5 Sucederá que la vara del hombre que yo elija brotará. Haré que cesen las murmuraciones de los hijos de Israel, que murmuran contra ti, a partir de mí.”
And it shall be, the man whom I shall choose, his rod shall blossom; and I will remove from me the murmuring of the children of Israel, which they murmur against you.
6 Moisés habló a los hijos de Israel, y todos sus príncipes le dieron varas, para cada príncipe una, según las casas de sus padres, un total de doce varas. La vara de Aarón estaba entre sus varas.
And Moses spoke to the children of Israel, and all their chiefs gave him a rod [each], for one chief a rod, according to the house of their families, twelve rods; and the rod of Aaron [was] in the midst of the rods.
7 Moisés depositó las varas ante el Señor en la Tienda del Testimonio.
And Moses laid up the rods before the Lord in the tabernacle of witness.
8 Al día siguiente, Moisés entró en la Tienda del Testimonio; y he aquí que la vara de Aarón para la casa de Leví había brotado, había echado brotes, había producido flores y había dado almendras maduras.
And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi blossomed, and put forth a bud, and bloomed blossoms and produced almonds.
9 Moisés sacó todas las varas de delante de Yahvé para todos los hijos de Israel. Ellos miraron, y cada uno tomó su vara.
And Moses brought forth all the rods from before the Lord to all the sons of Israel; and they looked, and each one took his rod.
10 Yahvé dijo a Moisés: “Vuelve a poner la vara de Aarón delante del pacto, para que la guardes como señal contra los hijos de la rebelión; así pondrás fin a sus quejas contra mí, para que no mueran.”
And the Lord said to Moses, Lay up the rod of Aaron before the testimonies to be kept as a sign for the children of the disobedient; and let their murmuring cease from me, and they shall not die.
11 Así lo hizo Moisés. Como Yahvé le ordenó, así lo hizo.
And Moses and Aaron did as the Lord commanded Moses, so did they.
12 Los hijos de Israel hablaron con Moisés, diciendo: “¡He aquí que perecemos! ¡Estamos perdidos! ¡Todos estamos deshechos!
And the children of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, Behold, we are cut off, we are destroyed, we are consumed.
13 ¡Todos los que se acercan al tabernáculo de Yahvé mueren! ¿Pereceremos todos?”
Every one that touches the tabernacle of the Lord, dies: shall we die utterly?
