San Mateo 10
1 Llamó a sus doce discípulos y les dio autoridad sobre los espíritus inmundos, para expulsarlos y para sanar toda enfermedad y toda dolencia.
And he called his twelve disciples to him, and gave them authority over unclean spirits to cast them out, and to heal every pain and disease.
2 Los nombres de los doce apóstoles son estos El primero, Simón, llamado Pedro; Andrés, su hermano; Santiago, hijo de Zebedeo; Juan, su hermano;
And the names of those twelve Legates are these: The first of them, Simon who is called Cephas, and Andrew his brother; and James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
3 Felipe; Bartolomé; Tomás; Mateo, el recaudador de impuestos; Santiago, hijo de Alfeo; Lebeo, que también se llamaba Tadeo;
and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Thomas, and Matthew the publican; and James the son of Alpheus, and Lebbeus who was called Thaddeus;
4 Simón el Zelote; y Judas Iscariote, que también lo traicionó.
and Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, he who betrayed him.
5 Jesús envió a estos doce y les ordenó: “No vayáis entre los gentiles, ni entréis en ninguna ciudad de los samaritanos.
These twelve Jesus sent forth: and he commanded them and said: Go not in the way of the Gentiles: and enter not the cities of the Samaritans.
6 Id más bien a las ovejas perdidas de la casa de Israel.
But, go ye rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 Mientras vais, predicad diciendo: “El Reino de los Cielos está cerca”
And as ye go, proclaim and say: The kingdom of heaven hath approached.
8 Curad a los enfermos, limpiad a los leprosos y expulsad a los demonios. Si habéis recibido gratuitamente, dad gratuitamente.
Heal ye the sick; cleanse the leprous; raise the dead; and cast out demons. Freely ye have received; freely give.
9 No llevéis oro, ni plata, ni latón en vuestros cinturones.
Provide not gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses;
10 No llevéis bolsa para vuestro viaje, ni dos túnicas, ni sandalias, ni bastón; porque el trabajador es digno de su alimento.
nor a wallet for the journey: neither two coats, nor shoes, nor a staff. For the laborer is worthy of his food.
11 En cualquier ciudad o aldea en que entréis, averiguad quién es digno en ella, y quedaos allí hasta que sigáis.
And into whatever city or town ye enter, inquire, who in it is worthy; and there stay until ye depart.
12 Cuando entres en la casa, salúdala.
And when ye enter a house, salute the household.
13 Si la casa es digna, que vuestra paz llegue a ella, pero si no es digna, que vuestra paz vuelva a vosotros.
And if the house be worthy, your peace will come upon it; but if it be not worthy, your peace will return upon yourselves.
14 El que no os reciba ni escuche vuestras palabras, al salir de esa casa o de esa ciudad, sacude el polvo de vuestros pies.
And whoever will not receive you, nor hear your discourses, when ye depart from that house or that town, shake off the dust from your feet.
15 De cierto os digo que será más tolerable para la tierra de Sodoma y Gomorra en el día del juicio que para esa ciudad.
Verily I say to you, that it will be comfortable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, rather than for that city.
16 “He aquí que os envío como ovejas en medio de lobos. Por tanto, sed prudentes como serpientes y sencillos como palomas.
Behold, I send you forth as sheep among wolves. Therefore be ye sagacious as serpents, and guileless as doves.
17 Pero tened cuidado con los hombres, porque os entregarán a los concilios, y en sus sinagogas os azotarán.
And beware of men; for they will deliver you over to the tribunals, and will scourge you in their synagogues.
18 Sí, y seréis llevados ante gobernadores y reyes por causa de mí, para testimonio a ellos y a las naciones.
And they will bring you before governors and kings, on my account, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.
19 Pero cuando os entreguen, no os preocupéis por cómo o qué vais a decir, porque se os dará en esa hora lo que vais a decir.
And when they deliver you up, be not anxious how or what ye shall speak; for it shall be given you in that hour what to say.
20 Porque no sois vosotros los que habláis, sino el Espíritu de vuestro Padre que habla en vosotros.
For it is not ye that speak, but the spirit of your Father speaking in you.
21 “El hermano entregará al hermano a la muerte, y el padre a su hijo. Los hijos se levantarán contra los padres y los harán morir.
And brother shall deliver up his brother to death, and a father his son; and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to die.
22 Seréis odiados por todos los hombres por causa de mi nombre, pero el que aguante hasta el final se salvará.
And ye shall be hated by every one, on account of my name. But he that shall endure to the end, shall have life.
23 Pero cuando os persigan en esta ciudad, huid a la siguiente, porque de cierto os digo que no habréis pasado por las ciudades de Israel hasta que venga el Hijo del Hombre.
And when they persecute you in one city, flee to another: for verily I say to you, Ye shall not have completed all the cities of the house of Israel, till the Son of man shall come.
24 “El discípulo no está por encima de su maestro, ni el siervo por encima de su señor.
No disciple is better than his rabbi; nor a servant, than his lord.
25 Al discípulo le basta con ser como su maestro, y al siervo como su señor. Si han llamado Beelzebul al dueño de la casa, ¡cuánto más a los de su casa!
It is sufficient for the disciple, that he be as his rabbi; and the servant, as his lord. If they call the lord of the house Beelzebub, how much more the children of his family?
26 Por lo tanto, no tengáis miedo de ellos, porque no hay nada encubierto que no se revele, ni oculto que no se sepa.
Therefore be not afraid of them; for there is nothing covered up, that shall not be exposed; nor concealed, that shall not become known.
27 Lo que os diga en la oscuridad, habladlo en la luz; y lo que oigáis susurrar al oído, proclamadlo en los tejados.
Whatever I say to you in the dark, that speak ye in the light; and what ye have heard in your ears, proclaim ye on the housetops.
28 No temáis a los que matan el cuerpo, pero no pueden matar el alma. Temed más bien a aquel que es capaz de destruir tanto el alma como el cuerpo en la Gehena. (Geenna g1067)
And be not afraid of them that kill the body, but cannot kill the soul; but be afraid rather of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Geenna g1067)
29 “¿No se venden dos gorriones por una moneda de asarion? Ni uno solo de ellos cae al suelo si no es por la voluntad de tu Padre.
Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? Yet one of them doth not fall to the ground without your Father.
30 Pero los cabellos de vuestra cabeza están todos contados.
As for you, even the hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Por eso, no tengáis miedo. Vosotros tenéis más valor que muchos gorriones.
Therefore be not afraid: ye are more important than many sparrows.
32 Por eso, todo el que me confiese ante los hombres, yo también lo confesaré ante mi Padre que está en los cielos.
Wherefore, whoever shall confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven.
33 Pero el que me niegue ante los hombres, yo también lo negaré ante mi Padre que está en los cielos.
But whoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven.
34 “No penséis que he venido a traer la paz a la tierra. No he venido a traer la paz, sino la espada.
Think not that I have come to sow quietness on the earth: I have not come to sow quietness, but conflict.
35 Porque he venido a enfrentar al hombre con su padre, a la hija con su madre y a la nuera con su suegra.
For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
36 Los enemigos del hombre serán los de su propia casa.
And a man's foes will be the members of his household.
37 El que ama al padre o a la madre más que a mí, no es digno de mí; y el que ama al hijo o a la hija más que a mí, no es digno de mí.
He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me, is not worthy of me:
38 El que no toma su cruz y sigue en pos de mí, no es digno de mí.
and he that doth not bear his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me.
39 El que busca su vida, la perderá; y el que pierde su vida por mí, la encontrará.
He that preserveth his life, shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake, shall preserve it.
40 “El que os recibe a vosotros me recibe a mí, y el que me recibe a mí recibe al que me ha enviado.
He that entertaineth you, entertaineth me: and he that entertaineth me, entertaineth him that sent me.
41 El que recibe a un profeta en nombre de un profeta, recibirá la recompensa de un profeta. El que recibe a un justo en nombre de un justo, recibirá la recompensa de un justo.
He that entertaineth a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive a prophet's reward: and he that entertaineth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man, shall receive a righteous man's reward.
42 El que dé de beber a uno de estos pequeños un vaso de agua fría en nombre de un discípulo, de cierto os digo que no perderá su recompensa.”
And whoever shall give one of these little ones to drink a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, verily I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.
