Marcos 15
1 Por la mañana, los jefes de los sacerdotes, con los ancianos, los escribas y todo el consejo, celebraron una consulta, ataron a Jesús, lo llevaron y lo entregaron a Pilato.
Immediately in the morning the chief priests, with the elders, scribes, and the whole council, held a consultation, bound Jesus, carried him away, and delivered him up to Pilate.
2 Pilato le preguntó: “¿Eres tú el Rey de los judíos?” Respondió: “Eso dices tú”.
Pilate asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” He answered, “So you say.”
3 Los jefes de los sacerdotes le acusaron de muchas cosas.
The chief priests accused him of many things.
4 Pilato volvió a preguntarle: “¿No tienes respuesta? Mira cuántas cosas declaran contra ti”.
Pilate again asked him, “Have you no answer? See how many things they testify against you!”
5 Pero Jesús no respondió más, por lo que Pilato se maravilló.
But Jesus made no further answer, so that Pilate marveled.
6 En la fiesta solía liberar a un prisionero, cualquiera que pidiesen.
Now at the feast he used to release to them one prisoner, whomever they asked of him.
7 Había uno llamado Barrabás, atado con sus compañeros de insurrección, hombres que en la insurrección habían cometido un asesinato.
There was one called Barabbas, bound with his fellow insurgents, men who in the insurrection had committed murder.
8 La multitud, gritando, comenzó a pedirle que hiciera lo que siempre hacía por ellos.
The multitude, crying aloud, began to ask him to do as he always did for them.
9 Pilato les respondió diciendo: “¿Queréis que os suelte al Rey de los judíos?”
Pilate answered them, saying, “Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”
10 Porque se dio cuenta de que por envidia los jefes de los sacerdotes lo habían entregado.
For he perceived that for envy the chief priests had delivered him up.
11 Pero los jefes de los sacerdotes incitaron a la multitud para que les soltara a Barrabás en su lugar.
But the chief priests stirred up the multitude, that he should release Barabbas to them instead.
12 Pilato volvió a preguntarles: “¿Qué debo hacer, pues, con el que llamáis Rey de los judíos?”
Pilate again asked them, “What then should I do to him whom you call the King of the Jews?”
13 Volvieron a gritar: “¡Crucifícalo!”
They cried out again, “Crucify him!”
14 Pilato les dijo: “¿Qué mal ha hecho?” Pero ellos gritaron con fuerza: “¡Crucifícalo!”
Pilate said to them, “Why, what evil has he done?” But they cried out exceedingly, “Crucify him!”
15 Pilato, queriendo complacer a la multitud, les soltó a Barrabás y entregó a Jesús, después de haberlo azotado, para que fuera crucificado.
Pilate, wishing to please the multitude, released Barabbas to them, and handed over Jesus, when he had flogged him, to be crucified.
16 Los soldados lo llevaron dentro del patio, que es el pretorio, y convocaron a toda la cohorte.
The soldiers led him away within the court, which is the Praetorium; and they called together the whole cohort.
17 Lo vistieron de púrpura y le pusieron una corona de espinas.
They clothed him with purple; and weaving a crown of thorns, they put it on him.
18 Comenzaron a saludarlo: “¡Salve, rey de los judíos!”
They began to salute him, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
19 Le golpearon la cabeza con una caña, le escupieron y, doblando las rodillas, le rindieron homenaje.
They struck his head with a reed and spat on him, and bowing their knees, did homage to him.
20 Cuando se burlaron de él, le quitaron el manto de púrpura y le pusieron sus propios vestidos. Lo llevaron para crucificarlo.
When they had mocked him, they took the purple cloak off him, and put his own garments on him. They led him out to crucify him.
21 Obligaron a uno que pasaba por allí, procedente del campo, Simón de Cirene, padre de Alejandro y de Rufo, a ir con ellos para que llevara su cruz.
They compelled one passing by, coming from the country, Simon of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to go with them that he might bear his cross.
22 Le llevaron al lugar llamado Gólgota, que es, según la interpretación, “El lugar de la calavera”.
They brought him to the place called Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, “The place of a skull.”
23 Le ofrecieron de beber vino mezclado con mirra, pero no lo tomó.
They offered him wine mixed with myrrh to drink, but he did not take it.
24 Al crucificarlo, se repartieron sus vestidos, echando a suertes lo que debía tomar cada uno.
Crucifying him, they parted his garments among them, casting lots on them, what each should take.
25 Era la hora tercera cuando lo crucificaron.
It was the third hour when they crucified him.
26 Sobre él estaba escrita la superposición de su acusación: “EL REY DE LOS JUDÍOS”.
The superscription of his accusation was written over him: “THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
27 Con él crucificaron a dos ladrones, uno a su derecha y otro a su izquierda.
With him they crucified two robbers, one on his right hand, and one on his left.
28 Se cumplió la Escritura que dice: “Fue contado con los transgresores”.
The Scripture was fulfilled which says, “He was counted with transgressors.”
29 Los que pasaban por allí le blasfemaban, moviendo la cabeza y diciendo: “¡Ja! Tú que destruyes el templo y lo construyes en tres días,
Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads and saying, “Ha! You who destroy the temple and build it in three days,
30 sálvate a ti mismo y baja de la cruz”.
save yourself, and come down from the cross!”
31 Asimismo, también los jefes de los sacerdotes, burlándose entre ellos con los escribas, decían: “Ha salvado a otros. No puede salvarse a sí mismo.
Likewise, also the chief priests mocking among themselves with the scribes said, “He saved others. He cannot save himself.
32 Que baje ahora de la cruz el Cristo, el Rey de Israel, para que le veamos y le creamos.” Los que estaban crucificados con él también le insultaban.
Let the Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe him.” Those who were crucified with him also insulted him.
33 Cuando llegó la hora sexta, hubo oscuridad sobre toda la tierra hasta la hora novena.
When the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
34 A la hora novena, Jesús clamó a gran voz, diciendo: “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?”, que es, interpretado, “Dios mío, Dios mío, ¿por qué me has abandonado?”
At the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is, being interpreted, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
35 Algunos de los que estaban allí, al oírlo, dijeron: “He aquí que llama a Elías”.
Some of those who stood by, when they heard it, said, “Behold, he is calling Elijah.”
36 Uno corrió y, llenando una esponja de vinagre, la puso en una caña y se la dio a beber, diciendo: “Déjalo. A ver si viene Elías a bajarlo”.
One ran, and filling a sponge full of vinegar, put it on a reed and gave it to him to drink, saying, “Let him be. Let’s see whether Elijah comes to take him down.”
37 Jesús gritó con fuerza y entregó el espíritu.
Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and gave up the spirit.
38 El velo del templo se rasgó en dos desde arriba hasta abajo.
The veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom.
39 Cuando el centurión, que estaba frente a él, vio que gritaba así y exhalaba, dijo: “¡Verdaderamente este hombre era el Hijo de Dios!”
When the centurion, who stood by opposite him, saw that he cried out like this and breathed his last, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God!”
40 Había también mujeres que miraban desde lejos, entre las cuales estaban María Magdalena y María la madre de Santiago el Menor y de José, y Salomé;
There were also women watching from afar, among whom were both Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;
41 las cuales, estando él en Galilea, le seguían y le servían; y otras muchas que subieron con él a Jerusalén.
who, when he was in Galilee, followed him and served him; and many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem.
42 Cuando llegó la noche, por ser el día de la preparación, es decir, la víspera del sábado,
When evening had now come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath,
43 vino José de Arimatea, miembro destacado del consejo, que también buscaba el Reino de Dios. Entró audazmente a Pilato y pidió el cuerpo de Jesús.
Joseph of Arimathaea, a prominent council member who also himself was looking for God’s Kingdom, came. He boldly went in to Pilate, and asked for Jesus’ body.
44 Pilato se sorprendió al oír que ya estaba muerto; y llamando al centurión, le preguntó si llevaba mucho tiempo muerto.
Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he had been dead long.
45 Al enterarse por el centurión, concedió el cuerpo a José.
When he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.
46 Compró un lienzo y, bajándolo, lo envolvió en el lienzo y lo depositó en un sepulcro excavado en una roca. Hizo rodar una piedra contra la puerta del sepulcro.
He bought a linen cloth, and taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth and laid him in a tomb which had been cut out of a rock. He rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.
47 María Magdalena y María, la madre de Josés, vieron dónde estaba depositado.
Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses, saw where he was laid.
