Marcos 14
1 Faltaban dos días para la Pascua y la Fiesta de los Panes sin Levadura, y los jefes de los sacerdotes y los escribas buscaban la manera de apoderarse de él con engaños y matarlo.
It was now two days before the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread. The chief priests and the scribes were considering how they might stealthily arrest Jesus and then kill him.
2 Pues decían: “No durante la fiesta, porque podría haber un disturbio entre el pueblo”.
For they were saying, “Not during the feast, so that a riot does not arise among the people.”
3 Estando en Betania, en casa de Simón el leproso, mientras estaba sentado a la mesa, llegó una mujer con un frasco de alabastro con ungüento de nardo puro, muy costoso. Rompió el frasco y lo derramó sobre su cabeza.
While Jesus was in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he was reclining at the table, a woman came to him having an alabaster jar of very costly liquid, which was pure nard. She broke the jar and poured it on his head.
4 Pero algunos se indignaron entre sí, diciendo: “¿Por qué se ha desperdiciado este ungüento?
But there were some who were angry. They spoke among themselves and said, “What is the reason for this waste?
5 Porque podría haberse vendido por más de trescientos denarios y haberse dado a los pobres”. Así que refunfuñaron contra ella.
This perfume could have been sold for more than three hundred denarii, and given to the poor.” Then they scolded her.
6 Pero Jesús le dijo: “Déjala en paz. ¿Por qué la molestas? Ella ha hecho una buena obra para mí.
But Jesus said, “Leave her alone. Why are you troubling her? She has done a beautiful thing for me.
7 Porque tú siempre tienes a los pobres contigo, y cuando quieres les haces un bien; pero a mí no siempre me tienes.
You always have the poor with you, and whenever you desire you can do good to them, but you will not always have me.
8 Ella ha hecho lo que ha podido. Ha ungido mi cuerpo de antemano para el entierro.
She has done what she could. She has anointed my body for burial.
9 Os aseguro que dondequiera que se predique esta Buena Noticia en todo el mundo, se hablará también de lo que ha hecho esta mujer para que quede constancia de ella.”
Truly I say to you, wherever the gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will be spoken of, in memory of her.”
10 Judas Iscariote, que era uno de los doce, se fue a los sumos sacerdotes para entregárselo.
Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went away to the chief priests so that he might deliver him over to them.
11 Ellos, al oírlo, se alegraron y prometieron darle dinero. Él buscó la manera de entregarlo convenientemente.
When the chief priests heard it, they were glad and promised to give him money. He began looking for an opportunity to deliver him to them.
12 El primer día de los panes sin levadura, cuando sacrificaban la Pascua, sus discípulos le preguntaron: “¿Dónde quieres que vayamos a preparar para que comáis la Pascua?”
On the first day of unleavened bread, when they sacrificed the Passover lamb, his disciples said to him, “Where do you want us to go to prepare, so you may eat the Passover meal?”
13 Envió a dos de sus discípulos y les dijo: “Id a la ciudad, y allí os saldrá al encuentro un hombre con un cántaro de agua. Seguidle,
He sent two of his disciples and said to them, “Go into the city, and a man bearing a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him.
14 y dondequiera que entre, decid al dueño de la casa: “El Maestro dice: “¿Dónde está la sala de invitados, donde pueda comer la Pascua con mis discípulos?””.
Where he enters a house, follow him in and say to the owner of that house, 'The Teacher says, “Where is my guest room where I will eat the Passover with my disciples?”'
15 Él mismo te mostrará una gran habitación superior amueblada y preparada. Prepáranos allí”.
He will show you a large furnished upper room that is ready. Make the preparations for us there.”
16 Sus discípulos salieron y entraron en la ciudad, y encontraron las cosas como él les había dicho, y prepararon la Pascua.
The disciples left and went to the city. They found everything as he had said to them, and they prepared the Passover meal.
17 Al anochecer llegó con los doce.
When it was evening, he came with the twelve.
18 Mientras estaban sentados y comiendo, Jesús dijo: “Os aseguro que uno de vosotros me va a traicionar: el que come conmigo.”
As they were lying down at the table and eating, Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, one of you eating with me will betray me.”
19 Comenzaron a entristecerse y a preguntarle uno por uno: “¿Seguro que no soy yo?”. Y otro decía: “¿Seguro que no soy yo?”
They were all very sorrowful, and one by one they said to him, “Surely not I?”
20 Él les respondió: “Es uno de los doce, el que moja conmigo en el plato.
Jesus answered and said to them, “It is one of the twelve, the one now dipping bread with me in the bowl.
21 Porque el Hijo del Hombre va como está escrito de él, pero ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien el Hijo del Hombre es entregado! Más le valdría a ese hombre no haber nacido”.
For the Son of Man will go the way that the scripture says about him. But woe to that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for him if he had not been born.”
22 Mientras comían, Jesús tomó el pan y, después de bendecirlo, lo partió y les dijo: “Tomad, comed. Esto es mi cuerpo”.
As they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed it, and broke it. He gave it to them and said, “Take this. This is my body.”
23 Tomó el cáliz y, después de dar gracias, se lo dio a ellos. Todos bebieron de ella.
He took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it.
24 Les dijo: “Esta es mi sangre del nuevo pacto, que se derrama por muchos.
He said to them, “This is my blood of the covenant, the blood that is poured out for many.
25 De cierto os digo que no beberé más del fruto de la vid hasta el día en que lo beba de nuevo en el Reino de Dios.”
Truly I say to you, I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”
26 Después de cantar un himno, salieron al Monte de los Olivos.
When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
27 Jesús les dijo: “Esta noche todos vosotros tropezaréis por mi culpa, porque está escrito: “Heriré al pastor y las ovejas se dispersarán”.
Jesus said to them, “All of you will fall away, for it is written, 'I will strike the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered.'
28 Sin embargo, cuando haya resucitado, iré delante de vosotros a Galilea”.
But after I am raised up, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”
29 Pero Pedro le dijo: “Aunque todos se ofendan, yo no”.
Peter said to him, “Even if all fall away, I will not.”
30 Jesús le dijo: “Muy ciertamente te digo que hoy, incluso esta noche, antes de que el gallo cante dos veces, me negarás tres veces.”
Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you, today—yes, this very night—before the rooster crows twice you will deny me three times.”
31 Pero él habló aún más: “Si tengo que morir con vosotros, no os negaré”. Todos dijeron lo mismo.
But Peter said, “If I must die with you, I will not deny you.” They all made the same promise.
32 Llegaron a un lugar que se llama Getsemaní. Dijo a sus discípulos: “Sentaos aquí mientras oro”.
They came to the place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.”
33 Tomó consigo a Pedro, a Santiago y a Juan, y comenzó a estar muy preocupado y angustiado.
He took Peter, James, and John with him and began to be distressed and deeply troubled.
34 Les dijo: “Mi alma está muy triste, hasta la muerte. Quedaos aquí y velad”.
He said to them, “My soul is deeply grieved, even to the point of death. Remain here and watch.”
35 Se adelantó un poco, se postró en el suelo y oró para que, si era posible, la hora pasara de largo.
Going a little farther, Jesus fell to the ground and prayed that if it were possible the hour might pass from him.
36 Dijo: “Abba, Padre, todo es posible para ti. Por favor, aparta de mí esta copa. Pero no lo que yo deseo, sino lo que tú deseas”.
He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible with you. Remove this cup from me. But not my will, but yours.”
37 Llegó y los encontró durmiendo, y dijo a Pedro: “Simón, ¿duermes? ¿No podías velar una hora?
He came back and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, “Simon, are you asleep? Could you not watch for one hour?
38 Velad y orad, para que no entréis en tentación. El espíritu, en efecto, está dispuesto, pero la carne es débil”.
Watch and pray that you do not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
39 De nuevo se fue y oró diciendo las mismas palabras.
Again he went away and prayed, and he used the same words.
40 Volvió y los encontró durmiendo, pues sus ojos estaban muy cargados; y no sabían qué responderle.
When he came back again, he found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy. They did not know what to say to him.
41 Llegó por tercera vez y les dijo: “Dormid ya y descansad. Ya es suficiente. La hora ha llegado. He aquí que el Hijo del Hombre ha sido entregado en manos de los pecadores.
He came the third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? Enough! The hour has come. Look! The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.
42 ¡Levántate! Pongámonos en marcha. He aquí, el que me traiciona está cerca”.
Get up; let us go. Look, the one who is betraying me is near.”
43 En seguida, mientras aún hablaba, vino Judas, uno de los doce, y con él una multitud con espadas y palos, de parte de los sumos sacerdotes, de los escribas y de los ancianos.
While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, arrived, and a large crowd was with him with swords and clubs, from the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders.
44 Y el que le entregaba les había dado una señal, diciendo: “Al que yo bese, ése es. Agarradle y llevadle con seguridad”.
Now his betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, he is the one. Seize him and lead him away under guard.”
45 Cuando llegó, enseguida se acercó a él y le dijo: “¡Rabí! Rabí!” y le besó.
When Judas arrived, immediately he came up to Jesus and said, “Rabbi,” and he kissed him.
46 Le pusieron las manos encima y le agarraron.
Then they laid hands on him and seized him.
47 Pero uno de los que estaban allí sacó su espada e hirió al siervo del sumo sacerdote y le cortó la oreja.
But one of them who stood by drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear.
48 Jesús les respondió: “¿Habéis salido, como contra un ladrón, con espadas y palos para prenderme?
Jesus said to them, “Do you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me?
49 Cada día estaba con vosotros en el templo enseñando, y no me habéis arrestado. Pero esto es para que se cumplan las Escrituras”.
When I was daily with you and I was teaching in the temple, you did not arrest me. But this was done that the scriptures might be fulfilled.”
50 Todos le dejaron y huyeron.
All those with Jesus left him and ran away.
51 Cierto joven lo siguió, teniendo una tela de lino echada alrededor de su cuerpo desnudo. Los jóvenes lo agarraron,
A young man, wearing only a linen garment that was wrapped around him, was following Jesus. When the men seized him
52 pero él dejó el lienzo y huyó de ellos desnudo.
he left the linen garment and ran away naked.
53 Llevaron a Jesús ante el sumo sacerdote. Todos los jefes de los sacerdotes, los ancianos y los escribas se reunieron con él.
They led Jesus to the high priest. There were gathered with him all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes.
54 Pedro le había seguido de lejos, hasta que llegó al patio del sumo sacerdote. Estaba sentado con los oficiales, y se calentaba a la luz del fuego.
Now Peter followed him from a distance, as far as the courtyard of the high priest. He sat among the guards, who were near a fire to keep warm.
55 Los jefes de los sacerdotes y todo el consejo buscaban testigos contra Jesús para condenarlo a muerte, pero no los encontraron.
Now the chief priests and the entire Jewish council were seeking testimony against Jesus so they might put him to death. But they did not find any.
56 Porque muchos daban falso testimonio contra él, y sus testimonios no concordaban entre sí.
For many brought false testimony against him, but even their testimony did not agree.
57 Algunos se levantaron y dieron falso testimonio contra él, diciendo:
Some stood up and brought false testimony against him; they said,
58 “Le oímos decir: ‘Destruiré este templo hecho a mano, y en tres días construiré otro hecho sin manos’.”
“We heard him say, 'I will destroy this temple made with hands, and in three days I will build another made without hands.'”
59 Aun así, su testimonio no concordaba.
Yet even their testimony did not agree.
60 El sumo sacerdote se levantó en medio y preguntó a Jesús: “¿No tienes respuesta? ¿Qué es lo que éstos testifican contra ti?”
The high priest stood up among them and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer? What is it these men testify against you?”
61 Pero él se quedó callado y no respondió nada. De nuevo el sumo sacerdote le preguntó: “¿Eres tú el Cristo, el Hijo del Bendito?”
But he was silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest questioned him and said, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?”
62 Jesús dijo: “Yo soy. Veréis al Hijo del Hombre sentado a la derecha del Poder, y viniendo con las nubes del cielo”.
Jesus said, “I am; and you will see the Son of Man when he sits at the right hand of power and comes with the clouds of heaven.”
63 El sumo sacerdote se rasgó las vestiduras y dijo: “¿Qué más necesidad tenemos de testigos?
The high priest tore his garments and said, “Do we still need witnesses?
64 ¡Habéis oído la blasfemia! ¿Qué os parece?” Todos le condenaron a ser digno de muerte.
You have heard the blasphemy. What is your decision?” They all condemned him as one who deserved death.
65 Algunos empezaron a escupirle, a cubrirle la cara, a golpearle con los puños y a decirle: “¡Profeta!”. Los oficiales le golpearon con las palmas de las manos.
Some began to spit on him and to cover his face and strike him and say to him, “Prophesy!” The officers took him and beat him.
66 Mientras Pedro estaba en el patio de abajo, se acercó una de las criadas del sumo sacerdote,
While Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came to him.
67 y al ver que Pedro se calentaba, lo miró y le dijo: “¡Tú también estabas con el nazareno, Jesús!”
She saw Peter warming himself, and she looked closely at him and said, “You were also with the Nazarene, Jesus.”
68 Pero él lo negó, diciendo: “No sé ni entiendo lo que dices”. Salió a la entrada; y cantó el gallo.
But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor understand what you are talking about.” Then he went out into the courtyard.
69 La criada lo vio y comenzó a decir de nuevo a los que estaban allí: “Este es uno de ellos”.
But the servant girl there saw him and began to say again to those who stood there, “This man is one of them!”
70 Pero él volvió a negarlo. Al cabo de un rato, los que estaban allí volvieron a decir a Pedro: “Verdaderamente eres uno de ellos, pues eres galileo, y tu forma de hablar lo demuestra.”
But he denied it again. After a little while those who stood there were saying to Peter, “Surely you are one of them, for you also are a Galilean.”
71 Pero él comenzó a maldecir y a jurar: “¡No conozco a ese hombre del que habláis!”
But he began to put himself under curses and to swear, “I do not know this man you are talking about.”
72 El gallo cantó por segunda vez. Pedro recordó las palabras que le dijo Jesús: “Antes de que cante el gallo dos veces, me negarás tres”. Cuando pensó en eso, lloró.
The rooster immediately crowed a second time. Then Peter remembered the words that Jesus had said to him: “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times,” and he broke down and wept.
