Lamentaciones 5
1 Acuérdate, Yahvé, de lo que nos ha ocurrido. Mira, y ve nuestro reproche.
Remember, O Lord, what is come upon us: consider and behold our reproach.
2 Nuestra herencia ha sido entregada a extraños, nuestras casas a los extranjeros.
Our inheritance is turned to aliens: our houses to strangers.
3 Somos huérfanos y sin padre. Nuestras madres están como viudas.
We are become orphans without a father: our mothers are as widows.
4 Hay que pagar por el agua para beber. Nos venden la madera.
We have drunk our water for money: we have bought our wood.
5 Nuestros perseguidores están en nuestro cuello. Estamos cansados y no tenemos descanso.
We were dragged by the necks, we were weary and no rest was given us.
6 Hemos entregado nuestras manos a los egipcios, y a los asirios, que se conformen con el pan.
We have given our hand to Egypt, and to the Assyrians, that we might be satisfied with bread.
7 Nuestros padres pecaron y ya no existen. Hemos soportado sus iniquidades.
Our fathers have sinned, and are not: and we have borne their iniquities.
8 Los siervos nos gobiernan. No hay nadie que nos libere de su mano.
Servants have ruled over us: there was none to redeem us out of their hand.
9 Conseguimos el pan a costa de nuestra vida, a causa de la espada en el desierto.
We fetched our bread at the peril of our lives, because of the sword in the desert.
10 Nuestra piel es negra como un horno, por el calor abrasador del hambre.
Our skin was burnt as an oven, by reason of the violence of the famine.
11 Violaron a las mujeres en Sión, las vírgenes en las ciudades de Judá.
They oppressed the women in Sion, and the virgins in the cities of Juda.
12 Príncipes fueron colgados de las manos. Los rostros de los ancianos no fueron honrados.
The princes were hanged up by their hand: they did not respect the persons of the ancient.
13 Los jóvenes llevan piedras de molino. Los niños tropezaron bajo cargas de madera.
They abused the young men indecently: and the children fell under the wood.
14 Los ancianos se han retirado de la puerta, y los jóvenes de su música.
The ancients have ceased from the gates: the young men from the choir of the singers.
15 La alegría de nuestro corazón ha cesado. Nuestra danza se convierte en luto.
The joy of our heart is ceased, our dancing is turned into mourning.
16 La corona ha caído de nuestra cabeza. ¡Ay de nosotros, que hemos pecado!
The crown is fallen from our head woe to us, because we have sinned.
17 Por esto nuestro corazón desfallece. Para estas cosas nuestros ojos son débiles:
Therefore is our heart sorrowful, therefore are our eyes become dim,
18 para el monte de Sión, que está desolado. Los zorros caminan sobre ella.
For mount Sion, because it is destroyed, foxes have walked upon it.
19 Tú, Yahvé, permaneces para siempre. Su trono es de generación en generación.
But thou, O Lord, shalt remain for ever, thy throne from generation to generation.
20 ¿Por qué nos olvidas para siempre? y abandonarnos durante tanto tiempo?
Why wilt thou forget us for ever? why wilt thou forsake us for a long time?
21 Vuélvenos a ti, Yahvé, y nos convertiremos. Renueva nuestros días como antaño.
Convert us, O Lord, to thee, and we shall be converted: renew our days, as from the beginning.
22 Pero nos habéis rechazado por completo. Estáis muy enfadados con nosotros.
But thou hast utterly rejected us, thou art exceedingly angry against us.
