1 Después de Abimelec, Tola, hijo de Puah, hijo de Dodo, un hombre de Isacar, se levantó para salvar a Israel. Vivió en Shamir, en la región montañosa de Efraín.
And there arose, after Abimelech, to save Israel—Tola son of Puah son of Dodo, a man of Issachar, —and, he, used to sit in Shamir, in the hill country of Ephraim;
2 Juzgó a Israel durante veintitrés años, murió y fue enterrado en Samir.
and he judged Israel, twenty-three years, —and died, and was buried in Shamir.
3 Después de él se levantó Jair, el Galaadita. Juzgó a Israel durante veintidós años.
And there arose, after him, Jair the Gileadite, —and judged Israel twenty-two years.
4 Tenía treinta hijos que montaban en treinta asnos. Tenían treinta ciudades, que hasta hoy se llaman Havvoth Jair, que están en el país de Galaad.
Now he had thirty sons, that rode on thirty ass colts, and they had, thirty cities, —they are called Havvoth-jair, until this day, which are in the land of Gilead.
5 Jair murió y fue enterrado en Kamon.
And Jair died, and was buried in Kamon.
6 Los hijos de Israel volvieron a hacer lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé, y sirvieron a los baales, a Astarot, a los dioses de Siria, a los dioses de Sidón, a los dioses de Moab, a los dioses de los hijos de Amón y a los dioses de los filisteos. Abandonaron a Yahvé y no le sirvieron.
And the sons of Israel again did the thing that was wicked in the sight of Yahweh, and served the Baals and the Ashtoreths, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the sons of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines, —and forsook Yahweh, and served him not.
7 La ira de Yahvé ardió contra Israel, y lo vendió en manos de los filisteos y de los hijos de Amón.
So the anger of Yahweh kindled upon Israel, —and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the sons of Ammon;
8 Aquel año molestaron y oprimieron a los hijos de Israel. Durante dieciocho años oprimieron a todos los hijos de Israel que estaban al otro lado del Jordán, en la tierra de los amorreos, que está en Galaad.
and they enfeebled and oppressed the sons of Israel in that year, —eighteen years, did they this unto all the sons of Israel who were beyond the Jordan, in the land of the Amorites, that was in Gilead.
9 Los hijos de Amón pasaron el Jordán para luchar también contra Judá, contra Benjamín y contra la casa de Efraín, de modo que Israel estaba muy afligido.
And the sons of Ammon crossed the Jordan, to fight, even against Judah and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim, —so that Israel was sore distressed.
10 Los hijos de Israel clamaron a Yahvé diciendo: “Hemos pecado contra ti, porque hemos abandonado a nuestro Dios y hemos servido a los baales.”
Then did the sons of Israel make outcry unto Yahweh, saying, —We have sinned against thee, because we have forsaken our God, and have served the Baals.
11 El Señor dijo a los hijos de Israel: “¿No os salvé de los egipcios, de los amorreos, de los hijos de Amón y de los filisteos?
Then said Yahweh unto the sons of Israel, —Was it not, from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, and from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines, [that I saved you]?
12 También os oprimieron los sidonios, los amalecitas y los maonitas; y vosotros clamasteis a mí, y yo os salvé de su mano.
The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, oppressed you, —and ye made outcry unto me, and I saved you out of their hand.
13 Pero me habéis abandonado y habéis servido a otros dioses. Por eso no os salvaré más.
Yet have, ye, forsaken me, and served other gods, —therefore will I not again save you.
14 Ve y clama a los dioses que has elegido. Que te salven en el momento de tu angustia”.
Go and make outcry unto the gods whom ye have chosen, —they, must save you, in the time of your tribulation.
15 Los hijos de Israel dijeron a Yahvé: “¡Hemos pecado! Haz con nosotros lo que te parezca bien; sólo líbranos, por favor, hoy”.
And the sons of Israel said unto Yahweh—We have sinned, do, thou, with us, according to all that is fitting in thine eyes, —only rescue us, we beseech thee this day.
16 Abandonaron los dioses extranjeros de entre ellos y sirvieron a Yahvé; y su alma se entristeció por la miseria de Israel.
And they put away the gods of the stranger out of their midst, and served Yahweh, —and his soul was impatient of the misery of Israel.
17 Entonces los hijos de Amón se reunieron y acamparon en Galaad. Los hijos de Israel se reunieron y acamparon en Mizpa.
Now the sons of Ammon were called out, and they encamped in Gilead, —and the sons of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpah.
18 El pueblo, los príncipes de Galaad, se dijeron unos a otros: “¿Quién es el hombre que comenzará a luchar contra los hijos de Amón? Él será el jefe de todos los habitantes de Galaad”.
Then said the people, the princes of Gilead, one to another, Who is the man that will begin to fight against the sons of Ammon? he shall become head to all the inhabitants of Gilead.
